Is it just me, but WITH does the one officer (I believe) simply grab the bike, by the handlebars, and begin to examine it. Without nitrile or other gloves? To preserve potential evidence? (It sounded like the one officer asked that he not touch it…. to no avail.) And then others allowed to examine or touch it too? SMH.

And how on earth did someone so readily happen to find that bike on such a steep embankment and down well off the roadside? MOO
I cringed when I saw that again as well. Not that it matters now since we know there was no bike ride ever, but defense will definitely rub that in over and over, I’m sure.

I don’t think the bike was very far off the road but it was a steep embankment. I don’t know what clues Barry gave investigators to be sure the bike would be found or if his 400 Tours Army BFF was part of that initial search, but it’s a great question.

(And I see @Auntie Cipation (great user name!) posted some good insights on the location in the post prior to mine.)

If where her remains were found is not the original body disposal site, there may very well have been animal predation that occurred at that first location.
There would have been markings on her bones.

I just read an article about BM's arrest. I knew BAM was hard to get a hold of, but I found this quote interesting.

"Prescription records also showed that Barry was the only private citizen in the entire state of Colorado who had access to BAM at the time of Suzanne's death, the indictment said."

What are the odds?

AFAIK there is no black market for BAM.
It’s not like horse tranquilizer that gets mixed /cut with fentanyl for street drugs for humans.
There is a black market for that.
JMO.

I wonder where and how he acquired it and I hope it is revealed. Maybe a vet who is loose with controlled substance prescriptions?

He acquired it in Indiana where he had a deer farm.

Hmmmmm...I grew in up Indiana on a farm and we never had to use tranquilizers. Dude is just cruel.

Hey does anyone remember when he said she was on the bed, with no clothes and snoring?? I remember something like that.
Yes. He said that was the last time he saw her. Snoring softly. As he left the bedroom and then the house for Broomfield.

In all actuality she was prob passed out from the BAM snoring softly/ shallow breathing as he lowered the lid on the cooler in the back of his truck.

I think he brought the BAM with him when he moved from Indiana.

"Several people told investigators that before moving to Colorado in 2018, Barry was a deer farmer in Indiana, where he used BAM to sedate deer, the indictment said."

I too get thoughts like this. I also think he did something with the backhoe, just before he executed his plan for her murder.

Remember how we were discussing that he could have dug holes (and didn't he buy some trees that he said he was going to plant but didn't? Something like that). Anyway I'm hoping someone else remembers. But there had to be a reason for him to swap out the Bobcat scoop.

Could he have dug a hole somewhere on the back side of their property, smoothed the dirt over but left it to cover the cooler? The cooler would behave a lot like a barrel and chemicals could be put into it.

We're not allowed to cuss here (which is a good thing) or I would.

JMO
I remember this too. My thought at the time is that he had buried her body in one of those tree holes and poured lye over her. Then LE and others started to get a little too close.
But, I like your idea better. He was really busy w/that bobcat in the beginning.

Dispersed bones, in direct Colorado sunlight -- no surprise if they're sunbleached. But I f even one bleached bone was still barried, the sun didn't do it; Barry did.

I believe those bones were bleached chemically. There's a sad theme here. Employing harsh chemicals to accelerate death then decomp. Not years, not months.

Whatever it was, it didn't destroy the very marrow of once vibrant, one very much alive Suzanne.

I can't wait for Barry to revisit the scenes of his life from May 9, 2020, as they flash before his eyes in the form and manner of photographs and testimony. It'll be like old home week for him, only he won't be running the show anymore. BarryM v. The Truth.

The truth will prevail.

Can a forensic anthropologist determine the difference between bones bleached by Sunlight vs. Chemical? I can’t remember if our resident expert offered an opinion on that?

In Indiana. He owned a deer farm there and I believe legally had the prescriptions there for use in the operations if I recall.

If that is the case wouldn’t there be other farmers who have it on hand?

The "Daily Mail" published an article today with "dark revelations"... anyone subscribe to their service? Probably BS, but I am curious where she went...

Might be a state by state thing who vets can give prescriptions to. Lots of info is found searching the deer farming websites and chat boards. In some of the Midwest states anyway sounds like a vet prescribes but the deer farmers administer it and the reversal agent within their herd management from what I recall looking it up long ago. The “B” in the drug combo is a class IV drug.

The DM has an exclusive section of stories, only available by subscription-apparently they are not together, and she has “dark revelations”. Published tonight behind their paywall.

Maybe in Indiana but not in Colorado according to the indictment:

"Prescription records also showed that Barry was the only private citizen in the entire state of Colorado who had access to BAM at the time of Suzanne's death, the indictment said."

Prosecutors have done their homework.

Fairly new to this thread, so I apologize if this has been mentioned; however, do we think it is possible that BM hired someone to eliminate SM? The DNA evidence of the unknown man found in the Range Rover, on the helmet, and bike had committed crimes in Arizona and Chicago. Many areas of Indiana are close to Chicago, and BM was arrested in Arizona this week. It seems plausible that BM would supply the BAM, hired bad guy lies in wait in the backseat of her Range Rover, and attacks SM long after BM had left town.

This is all MOO/IMO, of course.
