I cringed when I saw that again as well. Not that it matters now since we know there was no bike ride ever, but defense will definitely rub that in over and over, I’m sure.Is it just me, but WITH does the one officer (I believe) simply grab the bike, by the handlebars, and begin to examine it. Without nitrile or other gloves? To preserve potential evidence? (It sounded like the one officer asked that he not touch it…. to no avail.) And then others allowed to examine or touch it too? SMH.
And how on earth did someone so readily happen to find that bike on such a steep embankment and down well off the roadside? MOO
I don’t think the bike was very far off the road but it was a steep embankment. I don’t know what clues Barry gave investigators to be sure the bike would be found or if his 400 Tours Army BFF was part of that initial search, but it’s a great question.
(And I see @Auntie Cipation (great user name!) posted some good insights on the location in the post prior to mine.)
