These are not just two regular folk in a neighborhood, living their lives, who happened to have a wayward package they decide to grab. .

It's Barry with a ankle bracelet, the former owner of the house/property who is suspected and charged with murdering his wife on that property.
It's a long curved driveway that you cannot see from the street that is gated and posted.
So, retrieving that package was a really bad judgement call on BM's part that Sho gladly goes along with.
So many better alternatives.

I seem to remember so iirc - Both BM and Sho had been seen on the cameras other times taking a stroll maybe in the lower part of the driveway.

If you have any ability to read other people in life you only have to meet BM once to know that he is the type that if you give him and inch - well, he is going to take a mile ...and more.

I think given the gate on the driveway, the no trespassing posted and the ankle bracelet - if I were the homeowner I would have been pressing charges if possible too. I would want it clear that there is no where on that property Barry Morphew or his friends are welcome. Period.

Still in shock over BK pleading guilty, for the first time, I'm smelling a possible Alford plea here. Would the Prosecution accept that? Could he negotiate a lighter sentence to boot? Smells like a boot that stepped in it... but might he plead out to save face (all ego still, just a different brand of self-preservation)?

Either the defense is going to have to concede to most of the evidence and spin a different reason for why he did what he did, repackage murder in the 1st degree with some kind of mercy killing or suicide cover up, as if OR present an unconvincing SODDI or alibi defense, in which case the jury will need about 30 minutes to return a verdict, and only if 20 minutes of that is lunch.

Depends upon his rich friends I suppose.

He has that one guy - or he did have him - who he was running the Deer farm with who was soaked in cash I remember from the early days.

Also where he had his trailer - there are quite a few really nice high end areas surrounding it -So no telling who he has befriended in the last few years. An unsuspecting rich widow ?

But more likely , D will do as you say, come prepared with a place he will stay with the daughter/s locally, not a flight risk, reduced bail, ankle monitor etc.

Of course Trevor could do another Go f----moi for the "husband" on account of this this untimely misunderstanding

Oh Boy, I hate to think he will get bail at all.

And where would he live that would be acceptable? Who could he stay with? I am sure he'd be ordered to wear an ankle monitor again and not have any contact with certain people. I wish they could order him to have no contact with his daughters since they are victims in this crime. They might not believe it, but he killed their mom and so staying with them as the children of the murdered person seems wrong. I don't know if he has any friends left in the area. His girlfriend already said he was abusive to her and she's out. He didn't have a residence in the area. I guess he could hit up his buddies he stayed at their house the first time, but I am curious what they think now since the Suzanne was found, and a COD is released.

Darke chose to befriend Morphew and submit, temporarily, to his will. The trespass wasn't her only poor choice, I suspect.

Knowing what we know today (i.e., SM's corpse was relocated to Moffat), BM wasted no time confirming that his old place was wired and secure! (Nobody will ever accuse SD of an abundance of intelligence)...

In BM's AA released only days earlier, both SD and BM denied to law enforcement that they were in a relationship.

The arrest warrant for SD was not deemed bogus by Judge Patrick Murphy who signed it the same date he received the AA, ordered SD not to be on the premises of 19057 Puma Path Rd, and to have no contact with EL, the property owner.

I don't recall the what/when but I believe we learned that FedEx tracking showed BM caused a package to be delivered to his former address. MOO

Reflecting on that most recent mug shot or jail house booking photo of BM. And thinking about the supposedly uneventful arrest and taking him into custody. Where the police (either in Indiana or Colorado) had stated they might have more to say about that arrest in the future IIRC?

That gash or mark on his left forehead. Wonder what caused that? Did he make an attempt to leave and strike something? Did he bang his head on a wall or table and say, oh rats…….. I knew this was coming? Or maybe something entirely different or unrelated? All speculation and simply wondering. But in light of the new photo and the IMO odd remark from the official, wonder what significance if any? Maybe none. MOO

No. I feel confident that he committed first degree murder and the prosecution have more than enough evidence to prove it.

I was wondering the same. Did he resist arrest in AZ? Attempt to flee? Airbags deploy? But his booking photo in AZ doesn’t show these marks.

-I was a little late to the live stream but the following is what I got :
-Next court appearance is Sept 2nd 1:30 and yes to the live stream
-Evidently there is a conflict of interest so Barry cannot use the public defender so his current lawyers anticipate they will be appointed to his case. Maybe with the addition of David Lipka who was on the live stream listening in - but that needs to all play out
-Melinda /Suzannes sister was listening in on the live stream via court webx
-The daughters used to have a victim lawyer Jane B - she is withdrawing so a new one needs to be appointed
-All Discovery has been given to D and judge with the exception of one grand jury interview which they will have in a week
-On Set 2nd -Barrys lawyer anticipates he will be asking for a probale cause review -
-On Sept 2nd -Barrys lawyer anticipates they will want to review the issue of bail

- The judge seemed smart /strong and fair - I did not catch her name
- The D male lawyer is very soft spoken but knowledgable - I did not hear Jane speak
-The P - DA Anne Kelly and I believe a guy named Johnson ? - both spoke very well prepared / confident and knowledgable

Off to the races - in a much better position than last time

Public Defender needed, LOVE THIS!!!! Karma is a b_____h!

Did I understand correctly that, since the public defender's office has reported they have a conflict, attorney David Bellar said that he and attorney Jane Byrialsen (both currently providing limited representation) would be available to be appointed (and have been in the past on other cases) as his provided attorneys? So that would provide BM with these two typically highly-compensated attorneys but on the Colorado taxpayers' dime rather than BM's.

This AFTER BM has reportedly transferred a variety of assets to other family members to preserve those assets.

I also see Dave Lipka, Colorado Springs criminal defense attorney. Trying to remember where he fits in again.

I'm curious -- did he introduce himself or was he introduced by the Court during today's proceeding?

From his website, he's a defense attorney with an office in COS, but appears to have ties to Alamosa. IMO, probably more regional associates than attorneys Jane or Beller.
