I am a Regional Investigator (Private Company) who also oversees CCTV installations. Can anyone answer the simple question of whether the perimeter of entire hotel was covered by CCTV? This will show if she left hotel alone, with someone else, or never at all. If I missed this, I apologise.

Sheridan Center? Every hallway has CCTV for goodness sake. I'll bet LE know whether or not she returned to her room. It's evidence collecting time if a crime occurred.

I fear she may have overdosed and the bf panicked( if not something more criminal).

On the brothers KL FB he lists the boyfriend as "the last known associate to see her" and said he was being helpful and cooperative. It also gives his name but of course TOS..

Thank you to the posters who responded to my question about the bf's story. I'm a weirdo who doesn't have Facebook, so I couldn't access the story myself. Thanks!

There are some of those "rent by the week" hotels, but I'm guessing the Sheraton is not one of those. (?) And anyway, why not use one of those by-the-week, by-the-month bc they are cheaper?

Had they been at this particular hotel long? How many days? Do we know? They must have some savings or something bc that has to be spendy (expensive) if it's been weeks and months of hotel living.

Surely LE has all the security videos and that should narrow it down in some way .

Seems like there should be a more accurate/recent photo of her.

I found the name, but i think it was also stated somewhere before: i know that as soon as the story popped up here, i was looking around and i think she is not friends with him on fb, which i found interesting.

This shows her on camera and says that it shows her leaving and coming back in after her smoke.
Another red flag her family pointed to is the fact that wherever Bethany told her boyfriend she was going, for some reason, she left her purse behind.

Ok, she went out for a smoke, for sure not needing a purse, then she did not come back, but she decided to go "somewhere" - not needing any purse? *sounds logical*

It's been my experience that eyewitnesses sometimes remember incorrectly or see things or don't see things that actually happen. In my line of work I often joke about the best employee being the DVR. It's always at work and it never lies.

With that said, the CCTV footage should very quickly identify whether the story given to law enforcement is accurate or not. Obviously if the footage shows her going up to the room and never leaving then she would have had to be removed in something hidden such as trash or luggage. If she did leave alone by herself then it would corroborate the story giving to LE.

Obviously law enforcement knows more than they are releasing. I would suspect that if video showed her return to the room and never leaves, they would have shut the hotel down and checked every single room forensically.

I agree with this whole post. I wanted to ask about the eye witness, but was hesitant. I didn't want to seem like I was contradicting someone who may be/is trying to help.

I did wonder though about the exact points you listed.

Sometimes I feel I am cynical and jaded though I try not to be. I was reading and lurking here long before I actually joined and started posting. Iow, sometimes I wonder if people realize they may be on a camera and then decide to come forward for reasons other than helping. Not saying that happened here. I also understand why folks don't want o come forward, for fear of not being believed. I see both sides of it.

As for the part I read upthread that the bf said she went to a counselor... at 3 a.m.?

Plus the camera already indicated that she re-entered the hotel.

Something's not adding up

I'm very worried for this woman.

This sadly reminds me of a case awhile back. There was an Asian woman, a researcher (or med student?) who was about to be married. They knew she went INTO the building where she worked/and or studied, but didn't have evidence that she ever came out. They found her body in a wall, IIRC.

I hope there is a happy ending for Bethany.

On a sidenote, I thought (maybe I read it here) that people in recovery are encouraged not to date each other or date anyone for a year (?) I could be wrong on that. Not blaming anyone, of course; just gives me more to worry about. I have compassion and realize addiction is a disease, but people do relapse. Maybe it was him and not her. IDK. It is just that something more is missing from this story that she just went for a smoke.

Also, I wish young women alone (and everyone) could just smoke in their room at 3 in the morning. I'm not a smoker, but so many things happen outside at that hour.

ABSOLUTELY RIGHT! I myself am a recovering drug addict and it is suggested in the 12 steps of AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) or NA (Narcotics Anonymous) that you do NOT get into any relationships until you have ATLEAST one year of sobriety! Some people even make a joke about it, and tell you after your 1 yar sobriety mark to get a plant first or a pet first, and if you can keep it alive then you can go ahead on with the relationship but it's so true getting in a relationship with another addict and especially meeting in Rehab or at an AA or NA meeting is what some would call in this program the "13th Step" which is being in recovery and the rooms for the wrong reasons!

Thanks for clarifying. I wasn't sure and didn't want to get it wrong. And of course, I did not want to come across as blaming. My mother told my cousin who was battling addiction, "Just stop!" Well, dammit if he could, HE WOULD.

I hope LE has all the security cam info they can get before it gets recorded over/erased.
Praying for a happy outcome for Bethany.

Even if she did relapse I would not judge her. It happens. I admire anyone for trying to be drug/alcohol free even if it takes a few tries or many.

No one deserves to be missing against their will, which is what I'm afraid of here.

I saw her at the Sheraton hotel smoking a cigarette out front, then go upstairs to her room around 3am on 4/2/17.

Unlike the photo, when I saw Bethany her hair was dyed dark brown/red, she was not wearing make-up, and she was wearing dark baggy pajamas with a camo hoodie. Bethany also seemed thinner to me than the quoted description, probably closer to 120-130lbs rather than 150lbs. She seemed positive, happy, and talkative.

She mentioned staying with her "husband". I also remember her talking about how she developed a rash after using a skincare product. If you happen to work in a clinic or hospital setting, please keep an eye out for her. I have been in contact with the detectives on this case since I am the last person seen on video interacting with her. I have also spoken to her mom and told her anything I can remember about my interactions with Bethany.

Welcome Yosemitetrailblazer. Thank you for coming here, so sorry it is under these circumstances. We have a great group of very caring and knowledgable folks here. I'm just getting in and caught up on reading, but I'm local and can help however necessary. Hoping for Bethany's safe return.

I can guarantee you that not one person that suffers from this disease of addiction would have ever dreamt that this is where they would be in their life. You know I've been told a couple of times over my couple of years of sobriety that you always have another relapse in you; however, you don't always know if you'll have another recovery! I'm praying for this girl because I myself have been in situations similar to this and thank God it was just a relapse for me! However, it could have been that she relapsed, and she didn't make it back to recovery, or it could be that her addiction got her in with wrong people wrong places and wrong things! People that live in that lifestyle and have addictions themselves are incredibly selfish! It's part of the disease and it's about what you can get next or what you can get from the next person to feed your addiction and disease! Unfortunately, when you're suffering from the disease of addiction you sometimes purposely and other times unintentionally, put yourself In Harm's Way because the addiction in the disease is so strong. I can say from someone who has been in the cycle of addiction many of times there's times that putting myself in those situations for the drugs were worth it at that moment! Looking back now, being a sober clear-minded individual, I can't even believe that I ever put myself in those positions, but that's exactly how strong this disease of addiction is! It's so cunning baffling and Powerful and most certainly never discriminates against any ethnicity, race, Creed, or religion! Like I stated before I hope tgar this is just a relapse and she can find her way back to recovery and I surely hope it's not anything more heinous!
