The defense just objected to the use of "cadaver" dog vs HRD. Judge overrules. IMO, HRD is a much more accurate term.

Why is that? Genuinely curious.

I want to know if Molly and Carren went through an independent double blind testing to prove their reliability.

Because of what these dogs are usually trained on. Often it's decomposing human blood from a living person and not an actual dead person or "cadaver."

Mr. Moran objects to the expert witness speaking to dogs sense of smell because he says she’s not a Zoologist. Judge over rules.

What is a self reward?

What does HRD stand for? TIA!

Looks like yes! They read your mind.

Carren mentions using "real" human remains in training instead "pseudo". I would like to know exactly what kind of human remains she uses.

They did. I missed it. What company or agency did the testing?
She didn’t say specifically, I don’t think?

Mr. Moran interrupts to say they’ve already had a hearing on this witness and what she can testify to. He wants to “ get to the icing on the cake”.
He reminds the Judge of something he says was ruled on ( sorry didn’t catch it), Judge says he doesn’t remember doing that but will certainly look into over lunch. For now he is overruled.

Moran attempts a voir dire on this expert witness, but defense is doing a cross exam instead of voir dire. The state has not finished it's direct, and is objecting the voir dire. Craziness!

Judge stops the nonsense! States " You're done!" to the defense!

The witness said the 91% reliability is from single blind testing. Not double blind.

Why is Double Blind Testing for Scent Detection Important?

A double-blind test is designed to eliminate conscious or unconscious biased results. Double-blind tests are held up to the highest scientific standards and it is where the scent detection industry has been heading for the last 40 years.
