The witness had Molly check the outbuilding for the scent of human decomp before Mark's clothes were placed there.

That was done in case an odor from an unrelated case was present. Wouldn't the same possibility of an unrelated human decomp odor be in the house?
I thought having her sniff the room before bags brought in was “ clearing the room “ to show that if she then alerted on the bags it was not anything else in the room she smelled. Does that make sense?

This break was about a car lineup at impound area she was asked to do. Defense asked for sidebar, then Champagne looked for discovery defense was asking for. He found it just after break.

Jury coming in.

Guess it was a test. About six vehicles and Molly hit on two.

Outside of MR’s house, Molly alerted to human remains by garage door, front door, small platform by open window up the stairs, by small shed behind house.

There were six areas.

Inside the house she alerted to human remains in seven areas

Sorry I'm behind again:
--------------
Trial for Justice for Dylan:
The defense seems upset about something with this Canine Solutions Lady and her dog Molly--

objection---defense not happy...said there are too many voice objections being made

Witness is describing case examples of searches by Molly in which she found missing bodies---Defense is making strong objections but I can't make out what he is saying...

Another case about a 7 year old missing boy---Molly sniffed his home---did not alert to remains---he was found safe at a friends house next day

A case of missing teen girl---Molly sniffed boyfriends car, did not alert---she was found safe later

Pros goes through several more cases examples of Molly's successful nose

So the Pros asked the witness a question about how cadaver dogs sniff out human remains---and while the expert is in the middle of her scientific explanation, the defense says " Objection, non-responsive..."

Judge snaps back---how is it non responsive if she is in middle of responding?

Lol!!!!!!!!!

Um ya, it's all a bit much isn't it?! Considering he allegedly came home to a cereal bowl and cereal box and a missing DR. Oh ya, he also got a nap in....
What an idiot!

Molly the cadaver dog was taken into Mark's cabin for a sniff....

7 trained final responses by Molly---indicating HRD---the exhibit only shows 6, so they are trying to figure out why...

OBJECTION---Defense very upset, thinks the state is helping the witness with her memory---judge says he doesn't see a problem...

Pros: are the 6 areas mapped the correct locations?

Witness: Yes, they are

Defense: I'd like to see it, it doesn't look like the report I have...

Judge: you dont need to editorialise, please step to the bench....

After sidebar: Pros: can we admit this exhibit please...

OBJECTION---Maam you did not make this map did you?

NO

DEfense: There have been several drawn up---these are not accurate---they are large swaths, 2 by 4 feet, that is not accurate enough...

Pros: Let me clarify, you will testify to the jury to specify where exactly each alert was, correct?

Witness: Yes, correct

Defense: objection, Judge, is this map being admitted as a demonstrative?

Judge: I think it is fine...

Witness: she indicated on seat portion of the brown couch...She indicated in corner by fireplace, and there was some blood smears...She indicated at bottom of staircase...She indicated on a dufflebag in the bedroom, by the bathroom sink and directly under it, and by washing machine...

Pros: what does this all mean to you?

objection---overruled

It may mean that someone who touched human remains then moved around in or stepped or touched these areas...[like the sink or washing machine etc]

Pros: Did you go to middle mt the next day?

Yes---I allowed Molly to sniff the area previously searched, and where remains found, to see if there were other areas she might discover...

Defense objection---I just got this new map today and haven't been able to verify any of this yet...

Pros: Your honour, to clarify, I gave them this map w/coordinates last week, this is the same map but with coloured lines and arrows, for jurors to see better...

Defense, oh ok....

Pros:These are areas Molly alerted are down hill from the initial remains ----

Witness: yes, that happens because water runs down and takes small debris along

Pros: Did Molly sniff Marks vehicle?

Witness: [472, 473, 474 exhibits, Dodge vehicle , map of Dogs alerts]

472: Witness was off lead and she was searching for human remains, Front driver and back door, outside of vehicle, alerted there,

473: climbed inside vehicle, she pushed back some bags and alerted on back seat, drivers side

474: she climbed in back of truck, and alerted in wheel well area, near big blue tool box

Pros: In contrast, when she sniffed the other truck, did she alert anywhere?

Witness: No, she did not

In summary, Molly did detect HRD in 3 of the 4 pieces of Marks clothing, and in 7 areas of his home, and in his truck...

Cross now, Moran is up. Already interrupting her as she attempts to answer and clarify

This was a little hard to follow, but best I could tell…

Molly alerted to MR’s Dodge pickup in large building where LE had this stored.

She alerted on area of back passenger door, front driver back door.

When door was opened she went to backseat and alerted past luggage on drivers side.

Wheelwell by drivers side. Bed of truck.

I think these searches happened in August 2013.

Off to work. Ill try to get more trial info moved here when I can get away. Ill peak in and put the best I can.

Good point. If the blue and green shirts were stored for months in the same bag why did Molly only alert on the blue one?

Wonder how Mark feels about his lawyer piling up those bagged and tagged clothes on the table in front of him.
