It is ultimately up to the defendant if he/she chooses to testify. The last two trials I have seen since covid restrictions opened the courtroom, those defendants did indeed testify. They both were found guilty btw.

I can see Mark maybe wanting to.

Sounds like the defense is planning to call several witnesses. Some discussion is happening now between the parties involved. Jury has not been brought in yet for the morning. We'll keep you updated throughout the day. @KKTV11News #MarkRedwine #DylanRedwine

That’s wild!! I hope he testifies! What a dumpster fire this morning! SMH Defense is already under the Judge’s skin WOW

Never a good idea to keep Jurors waiting especially when the Defense has put them thru enough. The Jurors obviously know the Defense was up today.

The defense has had nine years to gather witnesses and a defense for MR. Today, day one for their case in chief mind you..there is a huge issue which disrupts the flow of the trial, causing a huge delay at the start. Is this part of their strategy?

Considering how the defense has performed so far, this is zero surprise that they'd begin with a big issue, and in my mind an intentional one. Had they brought this up earlier, the judge would have had plenty of time to thoughtfully rule on this guy being (or not) qualified as an expert, and it doesn't seem the defense wanted that.

It is always interesting when these defendants testify. It “usually” doesn’t bode well for them as they think they can lie out of it.

BTW…the defense’s 15 mins are up waiting for that next witness. Let’s see how long this takes.

#MarkRedwine - The judge advised the defendant this morning of his right to testify/not testify. He did not require an answer now, that will come at the end of the defense case. @LawCrimeNetwork #DylanRedwine

#MarkRedwine - The defense begins their case today. They want to call Dr. Phil Danielson, DNA/Forensic/Genetics. There's argument on what he can be qualified in . The judge is taking under advisement. #DylanRedwine @LawCrimeNetwork

Judge just went over about MR wants to testify, think it over & talk to your attorneys.

About 15 min or so break waiting for first defense witness. The one originally planned has been postponed so judge can review stuff being emailed to him.
Was wondering this morning if Mark might do that. I never would’ve thought Tammy Moorer or Cristhian Bahena Rivera would testify so it wouldn’t surprise me. I don’t think he can resist getting some more digs into Elaine.

We’re all ears Mark.

Wish this guy wouldn’t grin and chuckle so much when he’s talking about dead bodies. Crude.
MOO

I honestly can't imagine his attorneys will "allow" him to get on the stand - ultimately it's his decision, but seems extremely risky IMO

It is risky. Yet in the end we often see a Narcissistic Sociopath do just that.

So far coyotes. And omg he’s being so graphic. Holding up the replica of DR’s cranium and making a claw with his other hand to imitate scratching and clawing.

I think he'll say mountain lion / cougar even though that was previously proven unlikely (or not possible) by the prosecution witness.
