Why do they wait so long to sentence? Preparation?

Moran has been the most demonstrative .. Arms crossed, little huffs and puffs.

GOOD.
His fingers were tapping so rapidly I though he was going to fly away!

There was a loud groan, pretty loud reaction, the judge even responded for them to be quiet...was that from Mark's side of court?

  • #265
He knew it was coming but he knows he did it.

Yep - my theory since this started has always been he thought he would get away with it as no body. That’s why he didn’t pretend to look for his own son as he thought he was so clever and had outsmarted them.

IMO

Justice is served! First time I’ve ever heard judge poll the jurors by name, usually it’s ‘juror number 1 is this your verdict?’ Etc…
I’m sure Dylan’s family are relieved that after 9 long years they can finally see MR punished.

I know it’s been said once or twice before but…

GUILTY.

9 years! Justice delayed but not denied! GUILTY!!!

Well done Jurors. Well done.

Boom! Guilty!!! No surprise, but it ain’t over til it’s over.

Now it’s over.

Second degree murder. Guilty.

Child abuse. Guilty.

Did the abuse result in death? Yes.

I'm glad I checked in. Glad he was found guilty. Maybe Dylan's mom and family can find some peace.

The penalty phase takes a while. The prosecution and defense have to put together an analysis for the judge of various risks, mitigating factors, etc.

Mark didn’t show any emotion to my eyes.
He wouldn't even look at the judge until the last few minutes. He really wouldn't look at him when he was thanking everyone for their hard work bringing this to a conclusion. Ha!

So does Mark move to a different jail when he is sentenced?

He has been at La Plata County for years and I would hate for him to have a easy ride close to home.

The judge had proposed earlier dates but the attorneys had scheduling conflicts with other upcoming trials

He has been in Jail awaiting Trial. Once sentenced he will go to Prison. Jail will seem like a vaycay compared to Prison.Given what he did and his disgusting behaviour I think he is in for hell on earth. Word travels fast in Prison.
