This case drives me crazy because I live only 2 minutes away from where he disappeared and the more research I do, the more I believe this wasn't an accident or an intentional thing he planned. He disappeared from a condo complex and they're set up kind of like how apartment buildings are set up, it's like it's own little neighborhood if that makes sense. What I'm trying to say is that I can understand him leaving without any shoes on or essential items because if he just wanted to cool off, he could have wanted to walk around the complex a few times and calm down. When I used to live in an apartment complex, I'd sometimes walk to the mailbox barefoot or too the pool. I didn't always bring shoes or anything else because I was still on the apartment property if that makes sense. That's how the condos are, maybe he wanted to walk around the property to cool off and it was summer so shoes weren't necessary.
The condos are right across the street from Green Mountain (more like "Green Hills" if you ask me) but those are high traffic trails and I feel like he would have been found already if he really did wander over to the park. And also, as soon as you enter Green Mountain, the trail immediately starts at an incline so it's not like the kind of park where you have a bunch of open space for a while before reaching the first incline, the incline begins in the parking lot. And it wouldn't be easy to hike barefoot. Somebody mentioned earlier the park had canyons but it doesn't really...there are a few spots where you could fall down off the side of the hill but even those aren't very deep. You could easily notice if something or someone was down there.
Some theorize that he disappeared on purpose but I don't believe that either. The condos run across a fairly busy road that passes by churches, a couple of grocery stores and restaurants, even a high school. And the side walk that runs along that street is pretty busy as well. High schoolers use it to get to and from school, and there's always joggers, cyclists and people walking that somebody would have noticed this man.
I was reading a post of reddit that said there was a report of a gun shot heard at late at night/early morning and according to his sister, the fiance has completely blocked his family out of her life since the disappearance. The sister said his fiance won't let them have any of his belongings and she's blocked them on all forms of social media, which is also strange...his sister said his fiance has made the whole search a lot more complicated ever since she decided to delete his family out of her life...
Im really praying this case gets solved in the near future. I feel so bad for his family and he really seemed like a good guy whose life was just beginning. He had his whole future ahead of him and I dont think he'd willingly throw all of that away. Maybe it was an accident and he wandered somewhere he didn't mean too, but like I said, it's a highly trafficked area with lots of people on foot and on bike, even on the coldest of days. I can't imagine he wouldn't have been found by now had he wandered off to hike the trails. Which again, just want to reiterate, these trails aren't something you'd find in the mountains with lots of places to hide and plenty of trees. It's got mostly no trees, some bushes and quite a few cacti. It's not like this off the beaten path trail where someone could get lost. Don't get me wrong, the trails are long and it's easy to deviate from your intended path, but neighborhoods, streets, even the highway are almost always visable from anywhere you are on that hike.
Another thing I wanted to point out is that there aren't actually that many bodies of water near the area like someone has posted on here a year or two ago. There are two that I can think of but he'd have to walk pretty far to get to them.
Anyway, just wanted to share my two cents. I think about this man almost every time and I'm always looking for updates. He's got to be out there somewhere. I know we'll find him.
