Search for Boulder man missing near Brainard Lake continues
Emergency workers continued the search today for a 72 year-old man who disappeared Friday near Long Lake Trail at Brainard Lake.

Ernest "Jon" Macaulay of Boulder was supposed to meet his girlfriend early Friday but failed to show up, said Marci Linton, emergency services coordinator for the Boulder County Sheriff's Department.

I have seen a lot of coverage on this case here in Denver. His family is so desperate to find him. I was hoping with all the people up in the mountains looking at the fall colors, they would find something. Very sad

Macaulay was an avid hiker and loved the outdoors. His vehicle was located at the Long Lake Trailhead in Boulder County. It was later determined that Macaulay may have been suicidal.
