Thanks, kaen. I don't get why she ever got involved in this relationship if she craved being the center of attention all the time? I think she may have resented Landen as much if not more than Albert. She popped off something in the cousin It interview, about how mom doesn't want to take care of them or something like that... the seething anger was pretty obvious (at least to me). eta: And yes, taking away Gannon was definitely the greatest cruelty she could possibly inflict on them.

When TS and AS began dating, the children were not living in their home. They were with their mother (LH), until she was hospitalized long-term for a very difficult pregnancy. AS/TS only had physical custody for close to two years. I believe Leigh Eagon covered this in one of the WS YouTube videos with Tricia. (I did try to find the actual video, but there are several that last 2+ hours). I think the motive will prove to be pretty simple: resentment, fury, and pure hatred. :(

IMO, TS grew accustomed to being the center of attention in the 3+ years she and AS were together (with only HH being present in the home). Sure; she may have been responsible for the care of GS and LS during visitations/vacations- but that was for a limited duration.

I would not be the least bit surprised to find that TS is the one who suggested/offered to take physical custody of the children during LH's high-risk pregnancy. When she, (the school teacher who loved children), discovered how difficult it was to manage a home, job/schooling, and family, she became resentful against AS, LH, and the children. Instead of asking for help, she chose to be a martyr (for attention, IMO), while the resentment continued to grow.

I believe she despised sharing AS's attention with "the kids", and was especially jealous of the relationship Gannon had with his father. Everyone loved Gannon. Everyone except TS, that is. The evidence will show just how much she truly hated him- she took his life for it. :( :( :( :(

I don't know if this is allowed, but I would like to comment on the posts that you make everyday. I would like to thank you as your posts speak of someone with a kind heart. Thank you for bringing me sweets everyday, and what you don't say in words means more than you know!

Thanks! You are quite welcome.

IMO by the way LS was smiling in her NC court appearance, it makes me think that she didn't think they had enough evidence to arrest her and she was going to get away with murder..... I'd say she's not smiling now!

Life insurance:
Once upon a time, I had a $2500 child rider on my term life insurance policy. Single mom, no child support, just something to help out my minor kids in case something happened to me. My son (also a Sonic fan) died the night of his GF's HS graduation. They paid double because he wore his seat belt. Sigh... it *is* a lot of money when you live paycheck to paycheck. But believe me, I'd pay that many many times over to have him back.

Justice for Gannon, and Landon, and Albert, and Laina.

@watergirl62 I’m so sorry for your loss! My heart is with any parent that looses a child! <3

Sorry in advance if this has been covered in previous threads (I haven't been able to keep up with them all), but how did LS manage to bluff her way into teaching jobs given her past arrests?? Clearly her recent employment history was not all that stable, but she did work in Horry County Schools in S.C. for 5 years. Have there been any media interviews with people who knew her as a teacher?? I can't imagine that she was very effective in the classroom or well-liked. It makes me shudder to think that was responsible for a roomful of chidlren.

That’s a damn good question, and I don’t think we’ve heard from any of her teaching colleagues.

Her teaching anything, is akin to “the blind leading the blind.”

There was this account, provided by someone who worked with TS at a seafood restaurant in 2014:

COWORKERS REMEMBER STAUCH

Christy Suggs’ intuition warned her about Stauch when the two worked together at the Giant Crab Seafood Restaurant on Myrtle Beach’s Restaurant Row in the summer of 2014.

“I never really liked her,” Suggs said from her Florida home.

Suggs, Stauch, their children and others also went to Disney World together on vacation. Suggs described Stauch on the trip as “selfish” and “self-absorbed.” Stauch ignored what her daughter wanted, demanding they do the things she wanted instead.

There was also a dinner where Suggs’ teenage daughter wanted to pay for herself. Stauch demanded to pay because she had a discount and told people how much they owed, Suggs recalled. However, the total was more than they owed even without the discount.

That led to an argument that included Stauch yelling and cursing at Suggs’ daughter.

“After we had that, I was done with her,” Suggs said.

Suggs stayed Facebook friends with Stauch and when Gannon went missing in January, the stepmom posted on social media.

“I went to work and I told them, ‘This is fishy,’” Suggs said.

Stauch often talked about being a “hero” by saving her husband from a failing marriage, Suggs said. When Gannon went missing, Suggs clung to a sliver of hope that he would be found because Stauch liked being that “hero.”

But, Suggs’ intuition knew it was unlikely that Gannon was still alive. That was confirmed with Stauch’s arrest.

“I knew it was coming,” Suggs said.

Interesting find, MassGuy. It sounds like LS definitely had serious control issues. The dinner bill thing is just bizarre.

I'm dumbfounded that a background check didn't catch her arrests when she applied for teaching jobs. I've never lived in SC or CO, but in another state I'm familiar with, the background check for K-12 educators is so sensitive that it will flag speeding tickets and traffic citations. [Edited to make clear: these aren't grounds for denying a teaching license, but they do come up in that state].

It was reported here as late as March that LS passed the background check for employment in two different school districts in Colorado.

As to prior arrests, I'm not sure of LS age when arrested but I know some of the arrests were never prosecuted or resulted in lesser charges.

I don't know if there are MSM reports with comments from former co-workers but there are probably some on SM.

Felony charges will definitely disqualify you from Colorado teaching certificate so maybe LS only prosecuted for petty crimes (?).

I can’t find any report of cadaver dogs mentioned, but you know they used them at least on vehicles and at remote locations. I wonder if and when they brought them inside the house and why there is no mention of it in the AA. Also, why is there no report of a neighbor seeing dogs brought into the house? If they did not do this that was a MAJOR mistake. And is this something they would leave out of the AA on purpose?

I remember a photo of dogs in the garage from very early on. I can't place it in context though. Don't take it as fact bc i may be misremembering but I thought it was night 1 or night 2. I thought it was pretty immediate though. There was a photo at night with dogs in the front with the garage open that I'm thinking of and a lot of officers talking in a circle.

I don’t recall that photo, but there was this Tweet:

A group of @EPCSheriff staff just pulled up to the Stauch home. They got into cars then left. A neighbor told us he saw dogs go into the house.

Hmm, that was Feb. 14. Thanks. So if those were cadaver dogs, they should have known by that date if a dead body was in that house. Possibly.

— Researchers are trying to determine how long the scent lingers when the body is no longer present, but there are no conclusive results yet—it may be two weeks, or it may be longer.

Well, I'm finally fully caught up on the thread, so I googled "Letecia Stauch Facebook screenshots" because a lot of ppl on here discuss her SM posts.
This is wild! I usually head to the comment section first on any article or sensational SM post anyway. (I have a thing for the "Peanut Gallery" as I call it.)
I have NOT been disappointed so far. Plus, I'm reading about things that weren't in the WS threads for various reasons, and I'm really starting to gain a WHOLE new level of understanding about just what kind of "woman" LS is... Wow...

Can you trust a cadaver dog if there is no cadaver.

Not really—especially if a lot of time has elapsed since the body was removed from the scene. Cadaver dogs can find the remains of people who have been dead for years or even decades. But it’s much harder for the dogs if the bulk of the remains are gone. In that case, they can pick up the scent from small amounts of body tissue, like a blood stain or nail clippings, or even from materials that came into contact with the tissue. But in the absence of an actual body, the smell of death will dissipate. There’s speculation that Madeleine died on the night her parents reported her disappearance—which would mean that she passed away four months ago. It’s not clear if a detectable scent could linger on her mother’s clothes for all that time.

G looks underfed in this pic. Could be neglect or anxiety/sadness/depression, either can result in underfeeding.

I bet she’s going to try to act crazy in jail and claim insanity if the opportunity arises and her back’s against the wall. It would be right in line with all of the other weird impulsive stuff she’s done.

I'm still trying to understand why she stuffed tissues in her pants... lol

I would have loved to seen her reaction the moment she found out that Gannon had been found.

The one thing we did get to see at her NC court appearance in front of the judge, which I immensely enjoyed, was when the judge politely told her she better shut her trap because the charges she is facing are a little on the serious side. :)

I love that judge. His accent and terms he used were perfect and he was polite to her to boot. A special court hearing that I wont forget anytime soon. :)

Desperation? My SD's math teacher got fired for getting involved with a 14yo boy. WTH??? o_O My thoughts were the same regarding hiring protocol. It was the second math teacher the class had for the year. They hired a third teacher to get them through the school year. SMH.

Also, she's a pathological liar. If you have never lived with one, they are very good at weaving stories on the fly.

As mentioned before, some dogs are better than others and more importantly some trainers and handlers are better than others so I think that has to be taken into consideration whenever dealing with search or cadaver dogs.

If you want to see 3 different cadaver dogs doing a really good job of finding dead body scent, this show and video below was one I happened to watch the other day and the dog searching part was very interesting.

The cadaver dogs begin searching right around 40:25 mark in the video. It was fascinating to me to watch the dogs work and all 3 of them found the same spot. These were great dogs and great handlers. Totally amazing how they work.

3 dogs search, one after the other, if you keep watching after this time mark.
40:25 mark is where it starts

Thanks for all the hugs. Y'all rock.

I joined WS after I lost my son in 2006. I come and go. These cases helped me heal back then and help me to never forget now.
