So, trying to get this mental health eval straight in my head, is the plan for her to say she didn't murder him, but just moved the body?
Something like that I think. It's an effort to explain her post offense behavior I assume.

So they have her dead to rights on those things, but the defense could claim that she wasn't in her right mind during those events.

Maybe we've only seen Tecia with ironed hair. She may have naturally curly hair. I can't imagine anyone allowing her access to a hot weapon.

We KNOW she's one seriously disturbed individual but how would mental health impact the trial/conviction? She functioned like a maniac for at least four straight days, but the point is -- she functioned. She showed forethought. She took steps to avoid detection. What percentage of the public grapples with mental health issues??? She seems to want a free pass for that. Yeah, well, most people with mental health issues didn't brutally murder a little boy. That's 100% T.

Well, what she wants and what she gets may be very different things.

But I don't think we really know exactly what the defense is. It does sound like the mental health part isn't related to the murder though. She's using the mental health defense re: after that, I guess re: disposing of the body. It's not a not guilty by reason of insanity plea. But even if it was (and it's not) someone who is insane for that purpose doesn't have to have been completely non-functional at the time of the crime-- they did do it, after all, in a NGRI situation.

I'm not surprised to see a mental health issue raised. No reasonable attorney is going to get a good look at her and not want to explore that as at least a partial defense.

My thoughts exactly. Especially given the super curly nature of her daughter’s hair. I feel like the straight hair she sported in most pics was ironed. It just had that coarse, ironed look to me. (Also speaking from experience as a lifelong curly girl myself.)

Not to get off in the weeds over LS physical appearance in court today, this was only one reporter's observation. My apology for mentioning a hot iron or crimper:

#LeteciaStauch enters the courtroom at 1:28. Her long black hair appears crimped, or curled, much more so than in times past when it's very straight. She and her defense attorneys sit down. Waiting on Judge Gregory Werner.
