Found Deceased CO - Gannon Stauch, 11, Colorado Springs, Lorson Ranch, El Paso County, 27 Jan 2020 *endangered* #10

I’m local - just to clarify Palmer Lake is heavily trafficked and it would be a difficult place to hide anything. The trail system from Palmer lake to monument is constantly in use and she would have had to physically carry him from her vehicle in plain sight of everyone. Not sure if there are cameras, but I have never - in my 30 years here - seen the recreation area at Palmer Lake empty.
The Woodmoor mountain area mentioned by reporters is more like a parking lot surrounded by homes and private property. My guess would be they are searching near spruce mountain ( Far southern Douglas county) but this would again require her to be in a busy hiking area, in broad daylight with a decent talk to anywhere out of sight. IMO

Whew. I just followed this dirt road near Palmer Lake (in my location app). It sure does wind around in a seemingly desolate area. I saw a similar road going along North Monument Creek. Can just anyone enter a drive along such a road as the one in attached pictures? I hear you about Palmer Lake being in constant use...but what troubles me are the nearby roads surrounded by nothingness.

I can not even imagine how LE approaches searches in a state like CO.

I think SM watched that video on youtube and formed her story around it.

If he came home, wouldn't she say - "Hey, we headed to the doctor but he was feeling better so we bailed on that idea (or wherever they were headed) and came back home. He chilled for awhile and then wanted to see a friend. I worried about his foot, but he said it was better."

Nope - she just says there is video evidence of a shadow or some such nonsense. And I think it's nonsense.

And kudos to the youtuber for looking, but I think LE and FBI will be able to make their own determinations about the video.

I don’t think so. I think they’re going off of tips from the public and/or GPS data from some source.

I honestly wasn't looking specifically for them. I know they're there at certain spots but I'm not sure what kind they are.

In this video at 40 secs on, you can see that it is the tire of the other car.

The part being talked about is after her return (2:15pm) where GS isn't seen exiting. 40s in your video link is when she pulls in getting ready to leave at 10:15am.

Against all odds, I NEED and want to believe that Gannon is still alive. When LE says he had an accident but he is still alive I REALLY want to believe her! I pray and hope that sweet Gannon will be found alive! I follow these threads because I believe that all of us really hope and pray that the truth will be what we want it to be. May that truth be what I need it to be today.

Okay - so why doesn't she help all of us out (you aren't the only one who feels this way) by telling where the accident occurred, where she took him, whether he saw a doctor, etc? If she's going to keep putting out statements, why not ones that help find Gannon?

Everywhere I've driven this week I've looked at the trails I pass by. There are always cars there, or people running/hiking. South didn't seem likely because the red truck sticks out if someone did see. North seems maybe more able to blend in yet find a secluded area, too.

Yep. And if I saw a big red truck out, I wouldn't look twice. (except NOW I would obviously). Everyone here has a Subaru or a truck. ha! But so many people have trucks and SUVs that I really wouldn't have even had it in my memory.

But if you go out away from the interstate either way really, north of springs like tri-lakes area, there are so many roads where there are trees. Heck, a lot of it is private property, but there's no fencing. I'm hopeful that since they have specific areas that they are searching there, that they have some kind of idea that will help them with the search. Praying!

Yeah, I doubt (but who knows) anyone would go to a heavily populated area like Palmer Lake specifically. But yep, lots and lots of roads that just go and go and go. Without very many eyes to see you.

I don’t understand why at the end of the Q&A today, LE said they believe he’s alive. That’s a departure from their consistent refusal, even today until that point, to confirm or deny anything at all. I don’t recall that kind of statement in other cases like this.

Not dumb at all. The FBI joined the investigation on day 3 after they changed GS status from runaway to missing child endangered.
