A subtle message they only need one more piece to the puzzle?

BBM:

Ha!

That picture's about as subtle as a 2' x 4' to the back of the head.

Um, I wonder how AS got to the airport ? For a weekend trip, my husband typically parks at the airport.

If AS was going away for military training, he would have left from the base, wouldn't he? Members of a unit don't usually just show up solo at an airport when it's time to go, I don't believe. (But maybe training is different from deployment?)

But I don't think it was intended to be just a weekend trip. Didn't he return early because of GS's disappearance? I'd think leaving the truck at home to be driven would make sense anyway in cold weather. Otherwise he could come home to a dead battery.
Edit: Forgot JMO again.

OOH- you REMINDED ME!
Depends on what training. My son is DOD- depending on where he is going. But he ALWAYS leaves his vehicle at the base or at the airport

Which vehicle was used for the GOG visit on Sunday, did anybody notice?

RD mentioned seeing Gannon on Sunday. He also released a short snippet of surveillance video, most likely from Sunday, of Gannon and his sister. (1:24) There is a black SUV pulling out. Perhaps they are on their way to GOG.

Truck is on the street.

No. Nothing about the video is conclusive yet everyone is acting like it is which is what it was intended to do by design IMO. The statement by the neighbor is also not fact. His interpretation of fathers reaction and what he was told by LE is EXTREMELY SPECULATIVE. Yet this is treated as fact which IMO is wrong.

We do not know the day, time, whether it was even the same footage from the same day, who was in the footage and what happened before, during and after the footage we were shown.

In other words, we were provided this footage purposefully and the purpose was to distract. If you read between the lines (and bArely have to do that) that video was purposefully released with LE approval. IMO

So you think LE is releasing things with no evidentiary value as they work with maybe the step mother, to find Gannon and punish the real culprits? To distract us from their quest? In my decades of following these cases I’ve never witnessed LE get up to such unprofessional shenanigans as that.

I couldn't remember the name of the device I mentioned in an earlier post but thought of it today. they are kinda expensive but I think the FBI has them in their toolkits. They are known as stingrays but technically an IMSI catcher.
cellular stingray - بحث Google

Why would they need one?

Hello everyone, long time listener, first time caller. I’m honored to officially become part of the Websleuths community.

I’ve been very hesitant to post by thoughts on Gannons case both out of the potentially sensitive nature of the investigation and the backlash that surely comes with anyone daring to suggest LS/TS/SM is anything less than a suspect in Gannons disappearance.

So let me begin by stating my disgust toward anyone assuming his death and assuming her guilt. This community is better than that. Other than the amount of time passed, there is literally nothing, NOTHING that suggests he is dead. This includes LE statements and actions. I will admit that I felt pessimistic about the direction/outcome of this case until I realized NONE of the FACTS tell us to feel that way. LE, despite what seems like common logic, isn’t even designating it a criminal investigation.

If anyone else felt like there were more questions than answers as the investigation moves forward, replace the assumption that LS harmed him with the assumption he’s alive. There are far fewer circumstances where this makes sense but an interesting thing begins to happen with this assumption...not only are there less questions, there’s hardly any questions at all and things begin to look crystal clear. JMHO.

IMO there are two scenarios we are dealing with and BOTH involve apologies to LS.

We’ve been given a lot of bones to ignore the steak.

Before I get toasted to oblivion from the pitchfork wielding mob against LS, do not forget we are not far removed from Shane Carey being all but convicted in the public eye and did a darn good job at making himself look that way, intended or not. LE is not dumb, they will misdirect intentionally to preserve the integrity of the investigation and they are most likely to do this when they think the victim is alive.

Whether you agree or not, I encourage everyone to at least pretend to have a little hope. 7,000+ investigative hours can’t be discounted just because we haven’t heard what we want to hear. IMO
Holy Smokes. So do you think if T did do something mean and evil to Gannon, we can get an apology from her for us being right about her? Just as you stating that we will owe her an apology?

I was one of those that was a hold out in the Heidi Broussard case, in that I didn’t believe Shane Carey harmed Heidi.

But in your long, weird, drawn out way of saying basically if we discount everything we know about this case, T was innocent, it still begs the question WHERE IS GANNON? Based on her many, convoluted stories, we have no clue. She has been of no possible help. And her stories expect us to put away all intelligence and thinking to get to her being innocent.

Thank G that LE doesn’t think that way. IMO

* of note, she is carrying what looks to be a brown bagged item in, not out. Interesting.

That’s a good thought! It almost looks like to me, though, she’s taking in a stack of brown bags or supplies they would use to remove things from the home. Could go either way.

I agree. I have highest respect for professionism and expertise of LE. Their only end game is justice for Gannon. Can't say that about SM, sorry, but my opinion.

She claimed to take selfies of herself and Gannon when they were out and about (or something like that, I can't remember exactly how she stated it). But I wonder how many other selfies ever happened.

Given AS's reaction to the neighbor's video, I think she forgot to send that selfie (or those selfies). Also, if true, you'd think LE would be putting that picture (Gannon's side of that picture) out to the world to help locate him - as it would have shown what he was wearing (he's not wearing what LS said he was wearing in her own Missing Persons poster).

I'm confused by these words. Gannon was not living with Hiott when this happened, correct? I thought she was remarried and lived in SC with her current husband and a younger child and that Gannon and his sister (Hiott's older daughter) lived in Colorado with the dad and stepmom. Am I wrong? Does she mean he was always hurting even before this horrible turn of events??
Maybe she’s speaking retrospectively. I think she’s been in complete shock since the personality, behavior and speech has been revealed by LS herself. Revelations of magnitude. Perhaps Gannon wasn’t a complainer. Some kids are protective introverts and hold things in. I think her conversations with Gannon must repeatedly play over and over in her mind. She may believe he was hurting all along and feeling some kind of way that she wasn’t able to know what she suspects now. She wants this opportunity to make him feel safe again as if to wish to reparent Gannon.

Ah, I see...I missed that convo. I didn't see anything that piqued my interest in her back up abilities but would be interesting to read what others were discussing.
Still trying to catch up so this may have already been addressed:

Her back-up skills stood out to a handful of us who are self-described "the worst backer-upper ever". I count myself among that group. It's just not in my skill-set, so watching someone else butcher it the way she did, is quite familiar.
Additionally, if you're already unskilled at something, and you're running on adrenaline, like you might be if say, you just did something heinous, illegal and unthinkable, you'd likely, possibly be even more erratic in your task. In this case, backing up the truck into the driveway.

In this case, even if it turns out TS is entirely innocent of Gannon's disappearance, she has already made a perfectly clear display of her dishonest, callous, self-serving character.
So, she's still scummy, either way this case goes.

Your mileage may vary.

RSBM

Yep. This. Cold, heartless, cruel. No apologies to her.

I have a question - are they able to detain SM for up to 72 hours for questioning? And, if so, what would they need to base that on?

No. 100% unconstitutional.

If they search the home they can get her DNA quite easily.
I understand. But the way the release was worded and LE saying it isn't a criminal case just makes me wonder if there are steps they legally have to take in order to get that dna.

  • #858
I may have missed this, but did they give the reasoning for suspending the search?

LE has been impressively (albeit, frustrating) tight-lipped about this whole investigation. Any chance that it could have been suspended because they found him, but aren't ready to make any announcements yet?

(I realize that's probably very, very unlikely)
I could see a scenario in which a body was found and they wanted to lab it for 100% positive ID first before making the announcement to media. Can you imagine the circus that would ensue if they just said “A body has been found that matches the description of GS,” especially if then it turned out to be wrong (!) Super unlikely, but I could see them wanting to be proof positive before announcing it. That way they can just say, “We’ve found GS.”

Could proper measures mean collecting LS dna? Is there a step involved in that? 1. Find body 2. Get suspects dna?
There is, in fact, a Step in that (IMO...I fear and believe)--a wicked one.
