Trying to catch up this morning - what is this new info about the truck and the airport? Link please?

There isn't one. It seems like someone mentioned this in their theory and it took off. I've seen it posted as fact since in comments from a number of sites.

Edit: random letters posted by my wonky phone deleted

We have received 718 tips to date. These tips include possible sightings, search suggestions, social media related information, suspicious activity, found property/possible evidence and video/photo/drone evidence.

This is from the Sherrif's latest update. Does anyone remember if they have added 'possible sightings' in an update before??? I wonder if they have had many possible sightings of the now infamous red truck!!??

Don't know if this has been shared, it might be common knowledge, but i was curious and wanted to find more information about the metro crime lab.

I just saw this this morning. Does anyone have any thoughts on what this could mean?

I'm not sure exactly what it means, but they did send Crime Units back into the house yesterday. I suspect they may have found something in their searching they could use and/or wanted to compare or pair it with something at the house or perhaps got a new lead or the investigation led them somewhere else.

ETA: I am also curious about the truck theory. Was that ever confirmed or some crazy SM theory that made its way over?
They're not going to search unless they have leads to search, but they are going to continue investigating and going through evidence, etc. That's what I took it to mean, anyway.

I Agree -- suspended search in that area is not termination.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has spent thousands of staff hours and received more than 715 tips in the case, so far. Deputies continue to investigate what happened even though no active ground search is happening.

Jmo the truck & airport was a theory that got carried away...I think.

This particular woman (stepmother) is not going to confess under pressure...no one can hope for that realistically...i,o.
Agree ,she will not confess unless it is to her benefit to do so. If she decides that LE has strong evidence, she might. If she able to recognize that...not sure she can see the big picture...

Yes, I think they have included "possible sightings" all along. I'm pretty sure I read the same at least a week ago.

People may be calling in tips about suspicious vehicles or sightings of boys who look like Gannon or match the description of what he was wearing.

Imo

I wonder if there will be any searches on today? Well, ones that we hear of anyway??
I keep checking Twitter and not seen anything yet for today.

Good morning all. I took a break last night to watch some Netflix with the hubby. I needed to disconnect just a little. I hope everyone is doing well and that we get some news on finding Gannon and arresting the responsible person(s) today!!

I think it's a little too early out there for reporters to really know what the plans for today are.

With the crime truck showing up at the home again yesterday, then the announcement of suspended searches. I think we may soon see an arrest, and a shift to recovery efforts. It seems like EPCSO is methodically eliminating all tips and has a plethora of evidence.

That's what I want to believe anyway. Would they make an arrest before they find Gannon?

I wonder if once they have gotten some results on the evidence collected and the DA gives the thumbs up, maybe they charge SM with just false reporting or child endangerment or something like that just to hold her and then the investigators interview her, maybe get her to admit what happened. Of course this is MOO

Would they make an arrest before they find Gannon?

This is a good question. Yes, they could make an arrest before they find Gannon. The problem for me is lack of factual data. Is Gannon dead? Is he alive? Was he murdered? Was it an accidental overdose? Was he kidnapped? Did he run away?

I would assume any arrest would come with accompanying charges, and without factual data, I personally could not name who would be arrested, and on what charges.

Yes, crime scene was back at the house last night. Someone pointed out that they wouldn't be back there if he was considered a runaway... Agree. I hope too that they have found something at search scenes to compare, but who knows. Finding reassurance in the dedication and professional investigation of LE. Praying for answers for family.

Hi, all. I’m new to WS (but am a longtime lurker). I’m not sure now seems to be the best time to join in on the conversation  but I just wanted to say that i’m here for Gannon. I feel that something big is going to happen soon!
Welcome @icantevenrn! I hope you're right!!
BTW, your avatar is killing me :p So cute :)

It appears she says Gannon left through the side gate with this person, who was 'sent' by someone else to get him.

So there "must" be video of that happening in front of the home, we just haven't seen it yet?

Don't hold your breath on that one! We wouldn't want to lose you here :)

While I like to keep all options and scenarios open, evidence (SAR, LE and Forensic activity) is mounting that SM is involved to some level in Gannon going missing. I am curious about SMs behavior. It almost presents like an odd and mutated version of "munchausen by proxy" in that she seems to get something out of the attention for Gannon (injuries, illnesses, etc), possibly because it's a military family where the military member may be frequently gone for extended periods of time, having to deal with issues large and small alone, etc. This behavior might invoke pity from BD feeding some emotional, separation anxiety need. Initially the breaking news of the search for a Gannon could have been like a shot of adrenaline, but then when public outrage mounted, turned into something unanticipated invoking the anger. Just tossing this out for discussion. Would like to hear from the medical experts here if this is possible.

This post is full of my train-of-thought speculation and commentary....
I remain at 51/49....

Quote snipped by me.
I'm glad you shared your thoughts.
Do you think it matters how often various scenarios (family violence vs. abduction vs. misadventure vs. voluntarily "running away" for this long) actually occur when an 11-year-old disappears? Should those percentages be considered at all?

Maybe more of a question for us all to consider....

Motion Detection in video surveillance systems typically is based on image change. The video stream (of bits) is processed in near-real time ("near" because it takes time to process hundreds of thousands/more-likely millions of pixels) to detect change in pixels/blocks of pixels.
And there is greater image/pixel change when there is side-to-side movement. It isn't necessarily that it's sideways movement, it's that the camera picks up more "pixel change" than head on. Your camera doesn't need to be quite as sensitive that way and picks up more of what you really want to capture.

I think you missed the point though. The camera placement is likely functional.
