I'm still thinking about their trash cans. It looks like on their covenant that it states they cant have trash containers out except for times of pick up which is often the case here with HOAs and covenants. You *could* keep your trash in your garage , but no one I knew did that because it stinks. Plus the garages aren't huge. We all put our garbage cans right behind the fence at the gate. Night before garbage pickup, open gate, pull can to the curb. HOW the heck do you do that if your 11 year old is the only one with a key? Maybe it was his chore? Idk. She didn't SAY that. And if he loses the key, you are gonna have fun dragging the garbage can thru your house to get it thru the garage to the curb.
Again, only if they didn't keep it in the garage. Which no one around me ever did because its trash and it stinks. Plus summer time, flies galore.
We bought in a neighborhood without those restrictions. But I lived for years here in areas where they did have them and it's not adding up to me.

This is exactly how we do it too. In pics/video of the garage, it's tight and I see no trash can. I would guess theirs is kept behind the gate as well. As a side note, I PRAY that LE was able to put a hold on their trash pick up and examine household trash. I've rewatched videos and it seems like their pick-up day is Wednesdays. FYI cans were out on their street the day that Dan May was at their house.

everybody has NOT seen it.
What exactly are you disputing about it, this is what I cannot understand?

"I just kept searching and I saw where she came back. And he didn’t get out of the vehicle. So she came back by herself about four hours later," Drayton said.

A spokeswoman for the El Paso County Sheriff’s Department said investigators have a copy of the video and do not dispute Drayton’s description of what the footage purportedly shows. The video, they caution, is only one part of the investigation.

"This is just one piece in a very, very, very large puzzle," spokeswoman Jackie Kirby told ABC News Tuesday morning

Clayton Sandell is the reporter and he wrote this from the article you linked.

"A spokeswoman for the El Paso County Sheriff’s Department said investigators have a copy of the video and do not dispute Drayton’s description of what the footage purportedly shows. The video, they caution, is only one part of the investigation."

About Sandall's question to the police at the press conference, Clayton Sandall is quoting himself, whereas the officer literally said "I can't confirm."

If Jacki Kirby the EPSO POI confirmed anything, really bad work on her part.

WS is not a courtroom. ;-)

Which means we are not bound by court jury rules and can speculate and form our own opinions on guilt or innocence at will.

Preferably based upon the evidence we do have at our disposal via LE and MSM.

Opinions tend to have more weight, though, in my opinion, when they fit more with most of the facts we know, rather than offering alternatives which are increasingly less plausible as more is uncovered.

It's also important to examine the evidence as a whole, and in context, rather than fixating on one detail.

All MOO and YMMV.

That's right. We have no proof whether or not GS returned with SM after the 'shopping trip'.
No actually.
We have no proof that the shadow is part of the original footage or a result of multi copies on substandard devices.

  • #1,125
And that is your argument? That single word?
I'm not arguing a darned thing. We don't do that on WS.

I'm pointing an element of a MSM report of what the LE spokeswoman stated; the word, "purportedly" has profound meaning, especially in the context with which it was used.

Some of us with video experience believe otherwise.

Not necessarily. If the lock is on the inside, checking to see if the gate could be opened from the outside would be one way to check to see if the gate was locked. One doesn't have to have access to the keyhole to find out if a gate or door is locked.

We don't know when they used the gate, how often they used the gate, and for what purpose (if any) they used the gate. So I don't really think we can decide which side of the gate should have the lock. If it's kept locked mainly for backyard and dog security, a lock on the inside makes perfect sense to me. Also without knowing about the use of the gate, it's hard to evaluate whether it makes sense to supposedly allow GS to have the only key.

I don't want to get hung-up on the key, but I wouldn't leave the sole key for anything in the hands of an 11-year-old, no matter how responsible they are. I wouldn't trust myself with the only key to a lock. I'd immediately get a duplicate made - much cheaper than bolt-cutters if that single key does get lost or misplaced.

If he had the only key and kept it with him, either the trash was kept in the garage or it didn't get put out if he forgot/wasn't around with the key.

It stated 'a spokesman' not necessarily Jackie.
This was the first report.
Subsequent reports and interviews did not confirm.
Only way to find out and put this madness to rest and get on with sleuthing is to contact abc directly and ask them.
I'm not going to do that but anybody is free to do so.
abc is a trusted source for this website.
We are allowed to discuss what is reported in msm here.
We can dispute it for sure but they published, they are responsible.

You are free to believe what you like.
It's just taking a lot of time and energy which might be better spebt sleuthing possibilities of the missing child's current location, and that is the problem for me with theories and shadows from copied videos in poor resolution.

I wonder if she was using it with that level of refinement of meaning or just using a big word.

You will be missed, come back when you feel up to it and thanks for your most valuable contributions.

Not been on the thread for a few days due to needing a well earned break. Where is Gannon..

  • #1,134
Feel free to do all the digging you like. :)

As horrible as this case is, and the likelihood of Gannon coming home alive is rather improbable, I'm actually really looking forward to seeing what evidence was actually collected (stuff we're debating right now), and how it was either ruled out as inconsequential, or ruled in as proof that there was an actual crime committed, with that house possibly being the primary crime scene. "Looking forward" sounds sort of creepy, but I just mean looking forward to being impressed by how LE do what they do, and catch the monsters that do what they do.

I do believe they will bring Gannon home, one way or another, and the person who made him disappear will pay for it.
I also like it when the evidence all comes out and we can compare our speculation with the evidence - it’s an integral part of sleuthing a case for me

True we never heard any reports of forensic activity at the wooden gate. Neighbors would have mentioned it in all the chatter. Maybe at night & quick to avoid media frenzy?
To me, the gate is not important. It was just an observation/ guess based on LS statement.

Well we also don't have proof that RD didn't erase part of the video where Gannon was clearly getting out, either. The guy who diagnosed Gannon with having been drugged, from 4 houses away on a video tape.

I expect nothing I post would stop anyone in this forum from doing whatever their heart desires. I'm simply posting my opinions and everyone here has the choice to scroll-and-roll.

So, let's sleuth where GS might be. Where should we begin?

This ABC link has been held up as a direct quote many times here.
All I have ever said was a reporter saying that that someone w/LE said blah blah, followed by an actual quote that wasn’t that statement at all, is no reason to conclude that LE affirmed the video content. And that’s what has happened. Its been assumed that Gannon was this and that and LE agrees.

The police don’t want to talk about the video content and never have. So they didn’t. And thus far aren’t.

Who can blame them with people placing words in their mouths, reporters beating on doors to talk to the neighbor, and showing up where he works to get him to talk about what reporters acknowledged LE didn’t want making the news.

Also, I don’t think LE had any secret handshakes with the neighbor to release part of it, after they just got through saying that all the social media chatter and speculation and leaps in claim making are a hindrance.

RD is not a suspect here and it is wrong to impugn on his character integrity or reputation. Period.
