Keep noodling on this info from part 2.

If I was looking for my kid my husband and I would “divide and conquer” to cover as much land and area as possible. She could have used the mileage concern on her own car as what would seem to be a reasonable excuse at the time. Then she just did her own thing disposing of items along the way.

The two search sites are on opposite sides of I-25. If one was “lost” crossing the highway would be a significant clue to get you back on track as there is really only one highway of that caliber running north and south. If I had to guess, I would say she was located in one area one day and another the next. I wonder how many other areas she visited in that 950 miles and if that is why this is being described as a very, very large puzzle...

Odd to me also that this whole rental thing was mentioned early on in SM and honestly was dismissed as rumor... then she fixates in it and confirms..

I'm almost positive that Leigh said in the chat here yesterday that TS drove her own car to the airport and to pick up the rental??
Have I got that wrong??
I doubt you have it wrong.
You're invariably accurate.
I don't even know where I got that information...
I was pretty sure tho'...
I'm sorry, I'm a mess .
Tee got me again... cos i have not opened the funeral whiskey and there is no other reason for my confusion.
Thanks Kyte.
That's a big one.

Respectfully, can either of you find that phrase? Last night, WS was full of discussion of how she took the truck. It really makes no sense for her to take her mileage-challenged car.
Nope nothing makes sense in this case lol.
I'm off to bed shortly but I will have a look through the last thread tomorrow and find Leighs message, it wasn't in the article but someone asked her and she replied 'TS told me she took her own car to the airport'

Absolutely. It was posted on yesterday’s thread by Leigh (the CrimeOnline reporter) around 6 pm.

“She said she drove her own car to the airport and picked up it when the rental car was brought back. We've reached out to LE for comment on that but not expecting that they'll be able to confirm that.“

The article does not mention HOW T got to the airport....

"While she is not disputing that she rented a car, Stauch said she didn’t rent the car until Tuesday, January 28, the day after Gannon mysteriously disappeared.
That morning, Stauch said she picked up her husband at the Colorado Springs airport; both left the airport in the rental car, she claimed."

Furthermore this confusing sentence follows...“Hey, if my son is scared of getting in trouble he may hide if he sees us. Not to mention it was economical and an easy way to pull in and out because we were going door to door.”
You are right. It wasn’t mentioned in the article but the reporter came on and clarified it. See my recent post.

Agree she needed the Rental for either of those 2 scenarios. Extremely risky to move a dead body from one location to another, but I was just wondering since I have no idea, how difficult would it be for a woman of her stature to accomplish moving a dead body? I mean how much strength does it take, and could a woman of her size/stature accomplish this feat all by herself? I’m about her size, in fairly good shape, and doubt I’d be able to move a dead body by myself. I guess I’m more inclined to think she used the Rental to dispose of evidence, but who knows. I guess nothing would surprise me in this crazy case.
So are you guys thinking she took the truck to the airport with a dead child in it a few hrs before AS landed?? She would have to transfer GS to the rental car , dump him off somewhere and go back to get AS. Imo that makes no sense.

LOL That's why I queried it as it changes a lot of theories but @10ofRods is also saying that it was the red truck?? I will have a look through the thread tomorrow and find the message from Leigh to double check :)

So where did she go between the time she rented the car and when she picked up AS? His flight arrived a couple hours later.

That’s not what I think. I think the body may have been dumped elsewhere and that she rented the car to either move the body or dispose of evidence.

Someone may have mentioned this, but COS is a small airport and the car rental pickup and return is a parking lot on site. It isn’t like most airports where someone checks you in. Yes, there are booths with a key drop, but they aren’t always manned. If you go have to go inside, the counter is about a 5 minute walk. It’s an unusual Airport in that no one ever goes from the counter with you to walk around the car (and verify mileage) and there are times when no one checks you in. If she has a receipt, I would guess that it came from the counter and thus there would be guesswork/estimates on the check in and check out mileage. We probably won’t know whether this info is accurate or not, and yet that is actually a huge piece in this puzzle.

If she has that many miles unaccounted for without GPS or any tracking, and the police have known this since the first few days, I fear they would be looking for a needle in a haystack.

So many crazy twists and turns in this case.

With each lie and contradiction, the odds of the step-mom’s innocence decrease to a statistical improbability that amount to impossibility.
Thanks. Since we heard about that stunning mileage, I’ve had strong doubts about its accuracy.

I spoke to someone yesterday who is a manager with a major rental agency, and he told me that those numbers are likely meaningless, and not to read much into them.

Your description of how it works there, makes it even more unlikely that she did in fact put that many miles on that vehicle.

I’m not discounting it altogether (it’s dangerous to do that), but I continue not to buy it.

Regarding the switch, if it is true it made the trip in the truck, I don't think Gannon was playing with it. I think the switch and all of Gannon's favorite things were gathered up to sell. That T, was tormenting him by saying she was going to sell them. Switches are not cheap. Many parents place small GPS devices on them to locate them in case they get lost.

I would imagine her daughter receives social security benefits from her father's death, so I'm assuming they have some income. Probably not a lot. No idea if it would fund a hotel stay.

And, no, I don't have a link for that... just assumption.
I don’t know anything about HH’s dad. How did he pass? Does anyone know?

Yes...Thanks Doc!! I edited my comment.

My husband died and I get SSI for my youngest son still , but I think if you get married they can cut the benefit.

Yes. That’s a very important time period. I can’t imagine she sat around for several hours, waiting for his flight to arrive.

This was her last opportunity to be completely covert, and I think she would have used this time to take care of any unfinished business.

No problem. I’ve read so many posts but I rarely remember anything of importance. Today was my lucky day!

In a car that would not be recognized by Gannon or LE?

Even if we set aside the 955, what does everyone think explains her driving 300-400 miles and returning with an empty tank? Would love to hear your thoughts.
