Apologize I lost the post I wanted to respond to regarding 900 miles in that period of time. When I met my husband 30 years ago he would drive back to his hometown straight through. It was ~1200 miles and took him ~18 hours, and again on his return back to our home after his family visit. He did this many times back then. If someone was determined 900 miles could be done.
That said I left Colorado 6 years ago, I still see a doctor down there twice a year, the traffic blows my mind compared to what I knew before moving away. Even if you do factor that in, 900 miles is still possible from what I've seen. IMO.
Agreed.
I think we all recognize the 955 *could* be a mistake or estimate and the rental car *could* be a red herring, but I think it is too important of a detail to cast aside until we know.
When I was in college, my boyfriend and I drove 500 miles to see his brother (who he hadn’t seen in a while), had lunch with him and hung out for a bit, and then turned around and drove 500 back same day.
And remember that astronaut who drove hundreds of miles—she even bought adult diapers so she didn’t have to stop to use the bathroom!—to confront a woman in a love triangle with her lover? Some people have pathological tendencies.
From LS’ behavior, I absolutely believe she was pathologically determined that “I am NOT going down over this kid.” The prospect of prison for the rest of their lives is all someone needs to suck it up and drive 955 miles.
But even if she didn’t, and LS just drove one full tank 300-400 miles down to empty, it would be wise to recognize the radius could be bigger than the current searches account for.
Absolutely cadaver dogs were probably used on the involved vehicles. I hope they used them with the rental vehicle too. And I hope they know exactly where she drove thanks to various onboard tracking systems that might be in play.
But we don’t know if there were any cadaver dogs hits or not, and we don’t know if LE can use tracking data to rule out the scenario where LS drives a significant distance to dispose of G.
It’s also possible the dogs may have hit on something in more than one vehicle and they don’t know conclusively which vehicle dumped him so they have to check multiple locations. And it’s possible they haven’t arrested her because they know where she is (and would prevent her from fleeing), but think she is just a loose enough cannon that she might reveal important details on her own to help them develop a more airtight case if they don’t lock her up.
