So, if we know "who" , which makes sense to most.... It seems the "how" is where the question lies?? How did she pull this off? The how defines where Gannon is and that is the missing piece. Just thinking outside what we already know. MOO

ETA This is where assistance pays off from the community or surrounding communities. The Sheriff's Department is asking for help. So...anybody who saw anything should reach out! I hope I'm making sense.

For sure LE is asking for tips, but it's so general. It seems unusual that so much time has gone by and they aren't asking for more specific information, especially if they have a pretty good idea of what went on.
It also seems unlikely that whoever is responsible hasn't told someone something, particularly if the person responsible is in fact the person that everyone suspects. She clearly has a hard time keeping her mouth shut. I wonder if it's time to consider offering a reward for information? I know it's a double edged sword but...

I believe there's only one missing piece to the puzzle.

Unfortunately, it's the most important one, in every respect.

We're missing Gannon…he's the final piece to the puzzle for LE.

I think they have the rest of it worked out.

JMO.

You always state things so succinctly. I admire your ability!

Sheriff's Office receives over 400 tips by day 15 of Gannon Stauch search - KRDO

SABBM:

Sheriff’s Office receives over 400 tips by day 15 of Gannon Stauch search

Jacqueline Kirby, a spokesperson for EPCSO, says the agency hasn't released much information lately but the investigation is still their top priority.

"In the absence of us giving details specifically related to the investigation does not mean that the investigation has slowed down," Kirby said. "There are things that we have to keep close to protect the integrity of the investigation."
Been away all day and catching up. I really appreciate the PIO's statement, since LE's work is mostly invisible to the general public at this point.

I keep going back to LE saying this is a “very, very, very complex puzzle” I don’t recall any other case with that many “verrys” from LE. I think there is much we don’t know here.

  • #886
What can they have worked out, other than possibly the “who”? And that is not helping much...
BBM:

I think LE may very well have the "What," "When," and "Why" pieces to this puzzle already worked out at this point, too.

The question of "Where" is the single piece I think they're focusing the bulk of their efforts right now.

JMO.

You make a great point...this case defies all odds! It's like nothing we have seen before. Just what are we dealing with here?

Absolutely. The what, how, where, why, and when are also equally important. Those are the missing pieces. JMO

ETA, one of the above defines the next. So if we work out how she pulled it off, where and when gets worked out next. Why is a question that can only be answered by her character, or soul. Still thinking outloud...sometimes I have to sort things out for myself. No offense. JMO

I have heard similar in other cases. I don't know why LE, makes that kind of statement, when it really isn't true in most cases. Most cases, sadly, are the same as the one before it. Just change the names. It is so tragic, and there is no end in sight.

I think if they’d figured out the answers to that many questions, there would have been an arrest by now imo.

Right, which is why they are asking anyone seeing anything to call the Sheriff's Department. I agree with you wholeheartedly. Way to many questions are up in the air.

Imagine what the status of this case might be if it hadn't been for RD's surveillance video.

The group working the 'parallel investigation' have their hands full, no doubt.

I am not sure if LE confronted SM and her bio-daughter (remember TS claimed LE put cuffs on her daughter and wanted keys to the vehicle they were driving at that time) before or after the RD video. If it was before, what triggered that confrontation? If it was after, why did they cuff the daughter and not SM? Was it because of resistance or was it a pressure tactic (to jolt SM in to cooperating)?

IMO, SM's story contortions and conditions of evidence discovered within the house are what make this case so complex for LE. We know GS was a preemie birth (1 lb. 6 oz.) and is able to go on hikes but we do not know whether physical activity is a struggle for him. AFAIK, there are no videos that show GS exerting himself beyond playing-in-place and walking; is he able to walk for long periods, run, lift heavy objects (that the avg. 11 year old could lift), etc. We know he likes video games and coding, two activities that do not require physical exertion but does he ever play baseball, ride a bike, rough-house (as boys do) with other kids his age?

Do we know if SM called GS' school that Monday morning to inform he would not be attending? Do we know if GS required a doctor/'urgent care' visit or medication that Monday to treat whatever it was that kept him from going to school? What other phones calls, if any, did SM make that Monday? With whom did she speak?

Why did SM decide to drive AS's red truck that Monday as opposed to the other vehicle in the driveway? Was the other vehicle not functional? Why was the red truck already parked in the street before SM backed it up on to the driveway? What did SM carry to the truck when we first see her walking to it? Did SM also place items in to the bed of the truck (which is not visible in the video)?

After seeing the neighbor's video, did GS' bio parents directly confront SM beyond banning her from the house or did LE do that for them/or at their request? Is SM's daughter also banned (not that she would want to stay in the house given the situation)? Where are SM and her daughter now living? Did/does SM have a (paying) job? Does SM have a credit card(s) in her name, did she use it that Monday?

At what point (that Monday, the previous day, one month before, etc.) did SM decide (plan) to take GS in the truck? What was the urgency that Monday? I assume the house was empty but for SM and GS and the urgency was to complete errands (and whatever else) before GS' sister returned from school. Does GS' sister take a school bus or does someone drive her to and fro?

Yes, indeed, the group working the 'parallel investigation' certainly have their hands full.

This makes me scared that it's not a simple case of someone gets mad at Gannon, Gannon gets hurt, person arrives back home like nothing happens. This is what makes me *speculate* maybe it was indeed premeditated and there's lots of loose ends needing tying up. MOO.

The Colorado people are quite something, are they not?
I am gobsmacked by all the heart energy, generosity of spirit and sheer love emanating from each and every one of them, over and over. If I ever return to uSA, I definitely want to go there.
Beautiful.
We would welcome you here with open arms! It IS a beautiful place with some amazing people!

This ^^ I am scared for this boy and totally baffled at this whole situation. Nothing I have ever followed comes close.

It hit me harder than it probably should have to realize that this is all going down in a somewhat comfortable walking distance from where I live now down in Fountain/Csprings, and I'm stomach-sunk horrified. Like.. I moved out of Florida to escape this kinda yikes! lmao

I have a really bad feeling in my gut, imo, and I hate to have one. It's been horribly cold. But I also know people here are EXTREMELY nice, and maybe-- as an afterthought-- this kid could have been helped by someone who has absolutely no idea what's going on and what efforts are being put into finding him. If he told them what he lives with, spun it, its freezing cold outside-- nobody wants a kid to die out there like that. I know its a stretch, but its how I stay hopeful here.

LE probably has to play everything very close to the vest with this case, so the only way we'll know in the end is when it all comes together, that's the unfortunate thing. As much as I would like to go out there weeks after the fact now and dig something up, I know it won't be a thing I can do. (And I know FB will make me nauseated if I go look into that LOL)

Sorry for the rambling all in this, just weird having this all crop up so close. I'm honestly hoping for the best for this boy, he seems like such a gem!

it reminds me of what la plata county sheriffs office said about Dylan Redwines case. note that although Dylan disappeared in 2012 it took until 2015 forMark Redwine to be named a POI, and another 2 years for him to be arrested. I hope and pray that Gannon is found much quicker and that justice is swift.

some websleuths members will see a number of similarities in behaviours between these two cases.

‘the Sheriff’s Office identified Mark Redwine as a person of interest in the boy’s death. That determination was based on “evidence collected, inconsistent statements and his behavior throughout the investigation,” Bender said.

Some residents have questioned why it has taken investigators so long to solve the crime, Bender said. He compared it to a 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle, saying they are slowly piecing it together to have a complete picture.’
