Just thinking out loud here... What part of the foot would drip blood if cut? My kids have gotten bottom-of-foot wounds before, but usually on the more calloused areas (heel, pads under toes - areas that touch the ground). In my experience those areas don't bleed a lot, maybe a little, but not enough to leave a trail. And if it were that bad they certainly wouldn't be eager to go "check" the gate multiple times. So, what part of a foot bleeds a lot? And if it's bleeding that badly wouldn't it warrant stitches?The top of a foot might bleed more, but how on earth would that happen? Maybe he kicked something with a blade and the blade cut into the end of the his toe? I'm just trying to figure out what precise scenario she was thinking of when she came up with this story. MOO
Also, why would anyone carry the gate key around? Keys to gates, outside toy boxes, shed are all kept on a hook in our house for any member of the family to access. No one is "in charge" of those keys. Good grief.
