Just thinking out loud here... What part of the foot would drip blood if cut? My kids have gotten bottom-of-foot wounds before, but usually on the more calloused areas (heel, pads under toes - areas that touch the ground). In my experience those areas don't bleed a lot, maybe a little, but not enough to leave a trail. And if it were that bad they certainly wouldn't be eager to go "check" the gate multiple times. So, what part of a foot bleeds a lot? And if it's bleeding that badly wouldn't it warrant stitches? The top of a foot might bleed more, but how on earth would that happen? Maybe he kicked something with a blade and the blade cut into the end of the his toe? I'm just trying to figure out what precise scenario she was thinking of when she came up with this story. MOO

Also, why would anyone carry the gate key around? Keys to gates, outside toy boxes, shed are all kept on a hook in our house for any member of the family to access. No one is "in charge" of those keys. Good grief.

TS's tale of the cut foot. Rubbish

So what do you think is the point of her telling everyone about his cut foot? If he was fine to go on a hike the next day, what is the importance of sharing this info with the world, right now?

Do you believe her when she says that LE knows all about this person who came to pick up G on Monday afternoon? If that is true, why didn't LE say that ? So far all I have seen is their statement that he ran away on his own.
The point of the cut foot statement is so that we understand why so many forensic teams were at the house. I think she is sharing with the world because she is getting death threats and wanting to do what she can to stop that.
I don't think LE has released certain things to the public because it is an on going investigation.

Why would an innocent person need to explain about a random cut foot when no one in the public knew about that up until now?
Because when the evidence is made public, and sooner or later it will be, she needs to explain what happened.

That's a good catch. So, she claims she had her phone with her. That's either a slip-up or it's true. If true, then she likely did leave her phone somewhere after she drove away (I'm guessing). Otherwise, LE would have a much narrower view of where to search

HOWEVER, let's say she left her phone on most of the time. It would probably show her driving all over Colorado Springs, stopping many times, mostly at stores.

Of course, we haven't seen that selfie (why doesn't she release it since she's so interested in doing her own PR?)

It needs metadata for the police to believe her.

This case is unique (to me) in its amazing, constant use of social media by a person who is clearly a POI, even if not yet named by LE. LS herself keeps us thinking of her as a POI, through her constant inconsistencies and lies in SM.

Wondering if she gave LE her phone????

Replying to part of the foot that bleeds question.

Puncture wounds can bleed a lot depending on depth. They are generally not stitched if the are deep because of the risk of infection --better to have the cut bleed and get out impurities rather than sealing the impurities inside and risk infection. Usually if it so bad and they do stitch, you get another tetanus and some antibiotics.

Deep slices (on a saw or other object) can bleed a fair amount and if the slice is wide it will seem like a lot of blood. These might require stitches.

A foot has lots of nerve endings and lots of vessels combined with it being the place where all weight is distributed, foot injuries are often more painful and debilitating than they might seem to be.

Or maybe to explain why there’s no footage of him leaving the house on foot. “Oh, THAT! Well I can explain. He must’ve went out the back gate.” “But ma’am that gate has a lock on it. We saw it was locked.”

“Oh, yeshhh, uh...well the thing is I have him the key because he wanted to feel important. Oh and he kept going to the gate that weekend to check! So he must’ve used the key to get out that way!”
This is all a bunch of nonsense IMO. This poor child. This is just an absolute nightmare. My heart breaks for Gannon.

So do you think that so many forensic teams were there because he cut his foot on Saturday?

My kids had a lot of cuts and bloody noses and things like that, and I always cleaned up the mess. I would assume she cleaned up the blood from the garage floor, right?

I agree that LE doesn't release everything during an ongoing investigation. However, in a missing child case, they urgently release every fact that can help the public find an endangered child.

If they knew that a certain person had driven to his home and taken him through the side gate to a waiting car, don't you think they would have shared that info?

....then that 11 year old rascal G, planned his hasty getaway......with an accomplice.

I was walking through the forest this morning for my commute and thought "Gannon was on this earth and shared this air.....and probably is no longer doing so" It's just so terrible. He seems like an amazing kid.

Exclusive: Gannon Stauch’s stepmother releases statement about boy’s disappearance
“Thank you to my husband who has stayed strong through this and protected our family to the best of his ability and our immediate & extended family members throughout the east coast. To Gannon, please come home soon because your daddy is waiting to watch the new Sonic movie that comes out this week and the cool shirt I got you to wear to the theatre is in your closet.”

Are AS and TS talking? I’m confused by the statement release. Also, I feel like everyone is super focused on a snip of the video and not other possibilities. LE did not release the video, it was leaked. LE has said “The mis-information that is being spread on social media is a hindrance to this investigation and adds an unnecessary additional burden on the family.“ EPCSheriff on Twitter
Is WS getting tunnel vision on TS? Just want to see Gannon brought home.

Thank you. My kids and the kids I know well would most likely proceed to freak out upon seeing that much of their own blood. I can't imagine them focusing on anything else (like a locked gate) for a while. Maybe I just know the wrong kids. Mine would want sympathy and a popsicle, lol.

It will be interesting to see if GS's mom and dad say anything at all responsive to this statement.. I guess we wait.

BBM:

I don't believe that for one nanosecond.

That theory doesn't make sense to me.

One does not put themselves under direct suspicion of having disappeared a child in order to mask an affair.

For one thing, affairs aren't illegal.

Hurting children is.

What you've just described would be the equivalent of chopping off a foot in order to hide an unsightly bunion.

JMO.

I agree it's a much less likely scenario than the unfortunate simplest explanation - that she's directly responsible. However, her intention would never be to come under suspicion at all. She's exactly the type of person who would think she could outsmart everyone and get away with just reporting him as a runaway without falling under any suspicion. She likely never thought the case would get this much attention.

I find it very odd that TS can’t keep her mouth shut or stay off the internet yet hasn’t posted this alleged selfie from the truck.

I sure hope LE announces something soon.

  • #1,497
First she says car then she says she told him to sit on the tailgate while she got the bandages. Which is it a car or the truck?
She never said tailgate.

I know,I know. 'It was aliens'. Gannon is now in some UFO traveling through space, and time, probably got sucked into a big Black hole by now.

A few things I learned from that statement:

Clearly there was blood found that needs to be explained away.

Once again, this is all about her. It’s clear that not one ounce of self awareness has creeped in since we last heard from her. If anything, it appears to be dropping precipitously.

She apparently doesn’t have a lawyer, because this was as big a disaster as that tv interview. Out of all the cases I’ve followed, I’ve never seen anything like this.

I have some questions after reading LS/TS statement:
1. Which Saturday and what time on that Saturday?
2. What were LS/TS and GS unloading?
3. GS sat on the edge of which car?
4. Inside the car or outside the car?
Was the car inside the garage, partially inside, fully outside?
5. What time was this?
6. How big of a bandage was required?
7. Which tool or what item caused GS foot injury?
8. By what point of exit/entry did GS “check the gate”?
9. What time was this?
10. How many times and for what duration did GS check the gate?

JMO MOO...this timeline is turning into a bowl of spaghetti.
ETA not expecting answers here, more like venting. Sigh. MOO
