She has some nerve hiding behind her hair so they can't see her show no emotion at the sight of that suitcase

Just hearing about the athletic pants he was wearing. It sounds like exactly what he was wearing when he was seen leaving the house that morning with Leticia.

It always bothered me that we never saw him return but he must have.

She must have killed him (finally) upon returning home.

I hate typing that.
If it wasn't for the amount of blood evidence in his bed, I'd suspect she attacked him the moment they got in the house. Once he'd kicked his shoes off but before he'd taken off his jacket.

Smith is doing so, so well, but I want to give her such a long, gentle hug. She looks so, so damn sad.

Bodies are her job, but kids hit different.

It was how she looked as though she started to breathe through her mouth when the paper was removed from the suitcase :(, and then they had to walk it past Al to show the jury. I almost cried at that point.

#LETECIASTAUCHTRIAL DAY FOUR: Day four is starting with Kelly Smith, a crime scene technician for Santa Rosa County Sheriff's office.

Smith got called on March 17th 2020 to the bridge for suitcase with body found.

When Smith got first briefing from Detective Yoder, she heard they had found a suitcase with a body under the bridge.

Dent in olive green suitcase led CSI tech Smith to believe it was thrown from over the bridge down.

Smith took photos of the scene under the bridge. They are going to submit them into evidence.

Allen: Was it apparent to you when you got on scene that there was decomposition? Smith: Yes, because of the coloring of the suitcase and the bug activity

Says inside of the suitcase was very wet. She says it is common with decomposition.

Smith was present for autopsy for Gannon done in Pensacola.

#leteciastauch present in court

Picture of bullet extracted from Gannon's head and plastic pieces that she understands as part of the bullet. These were recovered in the autopsy.

Smith is pointing to the pillow found in suitcase. There's an Xray done of the pillow and there's two projectiles/bulled found inside of the pillow.

So, we are hearing about three bullets in total: 2 found in the pillow, one in Gannon's head.

Autopsy was conducted on March 18th, 2020, the day after Gannon's body was found.

Tshirt found on Gannon showed "defects" that coincided with injuries on his body.

She's pointing to "defects" in the shirt in areas of chest/collarbone areas, arms, etc. Says they coincide with injuries on Gannon's body.

Pictures now show jacket Gannon was wearing when found.

She is pointing to defects in the jacket too.

Since we are looking at lining of the jacket, this points to Gannon's back.

Gannon was wearing athletic pants.

Smith and Allen say there was a strong odor on the pillow and all of Gannon's clothes from decomposition and that is why they are just showing pictures, not brining the clothes in for the jury to see/smell.

Smith looking at suitcase in the courtroom.

Suitcase is large. Has broken handle.

Two blankets, pillow and Gannon's remains were all found in this suitcase.

Defense attorneys do not have cross examination questions for Smith. Jurors are submitting questions for witness.

Remember at first, when we couldn't decide if he came home with her in the truck and we thought maybe he died, from her hurting him the night before, in the truck and she dumped him? That she might have panicked and not meant to kill him?.

And now we know better :(

I'm now wondering, if the broken handle on the suitcase, just how did she pick up the suitcase high enough to throw it over the bridge railing.

Good idea. All this talk about the smell is really triggering me. They had to wait to place my brother’s body bag full of frozen bones into the casket from the ME’s office at the very last second before services for the same reason. I can’t imagine how Landen and Gannon’s family are maintaining strength. Yep, I think I’ll take a short break. My fingers are shaking. Bless you all for sticking thru this.

Prosecution calling up Florida Department of Law Enforcement Analyst Trevor Seifert as next witness.

He does DNA analysis. Is a senior analyst.

He left the house, riding in the back driver's side seat.

He must have been in the front passenger seat or the truck bed when he returned.

She had him get out of the car somewhere.

Gives me chills.

No mention of underwear/boxers.

Unthinkable injuries, cruel headgames, actually torture.

His blood was on the stairs IIRC... did she stab him before they returned home?

That poor child, he couldn't get away.
