AS isn't present during this interview. I guess he is still at airport.
This is 10:00 pm Monday night. He was in Oklahoma and flew home the next morning.

I hope we're done with recordings of her.
I will have to break something if I have to listen to more of her creepy voice.

They're back from lunch break and are playing police body cam audio from Jan 27. I had to pause it. I just can't listen to her voice and lying words. Poor Gannon. I don't know how LH, AS, and the family are making it through this. I cannot imagine the heartbreak and stress they are dealing with.

While it would be heartbreaking and anxiety-producing, for me, there would also be the big flood of relief that this woman's strategies and words in committing this unspeakable crime are now part of the public record. The nightmarish aspect of not knowing for sure what Letecia Stauch did would be driving me crazy. I would want to know how she lied and manipulated to get her job, and that everyone in the world knows it too.

How she lied about Gannon searching on his phone (and obviously put that search in herself). All out in the open now. Forever.

This would be a big part of healing, for me, personally.

OTOH, I'm afraid I'd start feeling hatred and maybe even rage, two emotions that are so damaging. Even just reading about this trial makes me hate her, but I try to regard her as a non-human, a non-person, who is acting according to her own monstrous, alien nature. No point in hating a cobra for doing what cobras do, I guess.

I pity the women at the prison where she's going to go, she'll be capable of manipulating and disrupting an entire cohort of the incarcerated if she's permitted to do so.

IMO.

Oh, this is the cop that she said hijacked her and cuffed her and Harley in the store then took their ride!

I haven't heard a single thing yet, that (if I were on the jury) would give me pause for thought and make me wonder if she might have actually been suffering from some sort of mental illness. Literally not 1 thing.
Vapid, manipulative, self obsessed, cruel, spiteful, pathologically dishonest. If she hadn't murdered someone, let alone a child, I'd call her a brat. Whenever she doesn't get her way, she has a tantrum, or does something vile to "get back" at a person.

Depraved, emotionally infantile, shallow, devoid of empathy, and toxic, yes.

Crazy, no. Not by any legal measure. She did all this with a clear head and open eyes. She had been planning this - minimum - since 3am the night before. Probably much longer. And it wasn't quick... It was drawn out to maximise terror, pain and suffering. With all those guns in the home, one shot would have done it and if Gannon was sleeping, he wouldn't have known a thing. But the terror, the pain, the suffering, that was the point. Clean and quick wouldn't have satisfied her.

That isn't crazy. As much as we'd like it to be, that is a very sane murder carried out with planning, fore and afterthought, and deliberation.

MOO

Omg she did a runner.

She was stuttering saying "key" and "warrant". She was walking backwards. He got on the radio saying "She's running." She threw the keys across the parking lot!

What a freak. Chatty and upbeat, sometimes matter-of-fact, enjoying being surrounded by the officers and holding court. Not a bit of concern. Meanwhile, she knows he's dead and is wasting these officer's valuable time. Glad this is the cop that got pay back later.

And I'm sure this was mentioned earlier, by OMG the text messages to the assistant principal are just appalling. Not just for content, but her use of the English language is just grotesque. I'm still perplexed that the assistant principal considered her emails as a candidate that seemed to care about the position for which she was applying.

The next witness is Sergeant Patrol Supervisor Christopher Ganstine with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office. In January 2020, he was a detective sergeant.

Ganstine said, that behavior is common when they’re following fugitives, “avoiding detection would be a good term.”

Thank you. The time line continues to confuse me.

Harley was reluctant to give up her phone. It had to be yanked out of her hand. Letecia was swearing and screaming. Once she saw they had Harley she started yelling stuff to Harley like don't talk, etc., Officer had to calm Harley down, she was crying and upset.

No, they weren't arrested. LE still needed to look into things, and figure out why getting those car keys were important to be withheld from LE. Why both mother and daughter were "Taking steps to be covert."

In the video I saw, yes, you could hear her voice but I don't recall seeing her. Also yes, something about his eye. No link of course just my memory.
Thanks @Ontario Mom. I am remembering this from 3 years ago, iirc there was quite a bit of discussion about it here. I always wondered if it was ascertained that those were Laina’s words and if so would end up being discussed at the trial.
