Ritalin, ibuprofen and migraine meds before (I have ADHD and had a migraine before I even started listening), cook-at-home Chinese dumplings for lunch because my partner is the best, salt and vinegar chips and a raspberry Mars bar while lying flat on my back in my bed after. I was too tired to stay up and have a beverage by the end like other folks. Nine and a half hours sleep. So, so glad today is a rest day. I know there's more audio to come on Friday, but I know it's not going to be the whole day, so I think I'll be okay to handle it again by then.
Raspberry Mars bars are a thing?

Thinking about the candle thing, because of reasons.

I just got up from a sound, long sleep to a house that smelled like an ashtray, really strongly. None of us smoke. Our neighbour does, heavily, and it's not unusual for us to have to shut the back door when he's having his smoko. Another neighbour has what we assume is a charcoal or wood fired barbeque with a smoker attached, we regularly get dinner envy when they use it. And it's just got cool enough for heating, so folks are starting to use their combustion heaters on the cooler nights. So I thought the wind was just blowing from the wrong direction, pushing the smoke into our home, and went to tell mum I'd shut the back door.

Nope, the smoke smell was from INSIDE. She had put a sausage (presumably from her trip to the Easter show yesterday, like a State fair) in the microwave to reheat while she went to feed the pets. It was wrapped in some kind of paper, and predictably, it lit on fire. No smoke alarms went off. Everything stinks of smoke. I've scrubbed out the microwave and have all the doors open.

So, my point is, if the fire - and specifically the smoke - were as extensive as LS claims, how the heck did she get the smell out before police attended? I'm baffled. I just know that the microwave at least is going to stink for months, as it did after the great popcorn debacle with my oldest nephew. But all the police smelt at her home was 'pleasant, like coconut' and 'bleach'. Why not 'smoke' and 'melted plastic'?

This. And no soot marks on anything either, even though she said she didn't sleep well because of smoke inhalation . No one can convince me that she didn't just throw melted candle wax over him in a rage and then lit a small patch of carpet on fire to blame him for it.

I'm just thinking of the soft furnishings, they just suck up smells. There's no way that sofa wouldn't still stink of smoke. It was right next to the burn patch. I lived in a home with an open fireplace for six years. There's stuff that was in that home, that it is storage, and I open the boxes and get hit with woodsmoke right away. And I lived there over half a decade ago. This home has no open fireplace, so they haven't been near one since I moved out of there.

Or even, you know, her hair. We know she hadn't washed it recently. The SANE nurse talked about how greasy it was, but didn't mention it smelling smoky, even though she was all up in there, taking photos of her scalp.

I scrubbed out that microwave with soapy water, then washed my hands thoroughly, twice, with scented soaps, and my hands still smell of smoke. Smoke sticks to things, adheres to oils, especially, and we humans are covered in oils.

A memorial wall for Gannon Stauch at Grand Mountain Elem. School.(Widefield School District 3)

On Friday, a memorial at Grand Mountain School, Gannon’s former school, was dedicated to the young boy. The memorial showcases a photo of Gannon and two quotes:

“Gone yet not forgotten, although we are apart, your spirit lives within us, forever in our hearts.” -Author unknown

“Every child you encounter is a divine appointment.” - Wess Stafford

I get it, but the placeholder frames for future “candidates” for the wall? Ew.

Landen wearing the Ninja Turtles t-shirt I’m sure for Gannon is too cute. Justice is coming for Gannon! I support Landen!

Partway through her Eguardo story, I think she realized she needed to insert Gannon into the narrative. Suddenly he's there. No gun yet. And T is very careful to interrupt her own fabrication to explain that Gannon knows she's in distress. Lest he think she's just having an afternoon delight? Huh? Why this odd aside from her? Did she want to impress upon the detective that Gannon had been educated to know the difference between T's made up sexual assault and regular sex, so the detective would know that T hadn't consented? Hadn't given consent.... to something that never happened? You can't make this chit up. Oh, wait. We can't. She can. And did.

The jury will sort this out. Creating new stories to match details only she knows and then change, pivot, embellish as she goes is the art of a pathological liar. The word is right there. Loosely -- patho- of or relating to disease and logical -- diseased logic. It's absurd... but it's still not insanity.

It's not that T believes her story (that might be insanity); it's that she thinks everyone else does. And that's not insanity. It's just flawed logic. Tsunami of illogic. It's probably been her strategy since the first time she got away with it as a child and never outgrew it. Mixed with just enough education and just enough life experience to convince herself she's convincing.

Not her fault no one believes her, says her, seething under her hair fort.

Except it is her fault. All her fault. No one else's fault.

She is morphing in the courtroom into the real ugly she always was.

Fire. Are we thinking Gannon wasn't burned by fire but by melted wax? Just how big was that candle?! How long had it been burning? For there to be enough wax to form a wave of wax?

How dumb is she? The carpet alone. I'm no carpet installer and I know nothing about drywall but replacing one cut-out area of worn carpet with a fresh sample isn't so simple! It would stick out! Nevermind you'd potentially loose the tension created when the carpet was first laid and stretched. Idiot.

Buy let's talk about candle wax burns. Oh, my lord. That's a sustained burn because you can't get the wax off! That his skin blistered and mascerated -- those are some serious burns. He kept cooking. :( "I'm just worried about my burns." While T was worried about the carpet and her covering her own asparagus.

It wasn't until morning (3am, I'd guess, whatever time she first texted her employer) IMO when T realized how badly Gannon was injured. (She probably conked him out with the hydrocodone -- to quiet him. I wonder if Al was able to calculate how many pills were missing, to determine whether she gave him a sedative dose or an attempted lethal one.)

Once she realized the extent of his burns, I think that's when she decided she'd fix it by destroying the evidence. :(

That's really the only question the jurors need to ask themselves: is it insane to destroy evidence? It is not. And T herself laid it out -- she needed "a story" to cover her actions. First the wax, then the burns, then the child.

Self-preservation is base. But it's the most sane thing there is.

She got rid of Gannon so nobody would know what she had done.

She must suffer from a delusional disorder. She has such a strong belief in ideas that are false and without any basis in reality. Her strange beliefs may have been the only or dominant symptom of her mental illness. If so, her aggressive behavior may have gradually appeared throughout her ‘adulting’ years. She believed she could take anything she wanted. It was hers. Jealousy reigns. She deserved it. She was going to do whatever it took to get what she wanted. To get her way. She used manipulative tactics on people she would draw in close to her. Strategy - use them as building blocks to get to the top of her set ladder step. She imagined herself as the ‘puppeteer’ taking bows and curtsies in her dupers delight. This must have accelerating into her ‘grown’ life. She did her thing. Used and abused all to acheive her goal. ‘Be careful what you ask for Tecia. You just might get it.’ Possibly suffering from stress, boredom and loneliness - She back pedaled into a life of chaos, disorganization and procrastination. She may have enjoyed life as a mother of stepchildren in the beginning. It provided her with a false pride of duty narrative to easily deceive her husband. He may been so desirable to validate his new wife and his new life. He was into a lulled acceptance to validate and boost his decisions in custody conflict.
………………………………………………………………………………………………………

The honeymoon glow has been extinguished. Back to reality. He’s working out of state. She’s all by herself stuck with two kids she doesn’t want. She only took them in because ‘mom didnt want them but her man did’. She sacrificed for him and now what? He aint happy. Neither is she. She’s gonna go out and get hers. Her new life is boring, boringkids, boring routine, life is not fun! This isnt what she asked for. She needed stimulation, attention and excitement. Either from a substance based chemical (in-home or street sought), male companionship or both. Upon obtaining, she couldn’t face responsibilities or confrontations. Consequences of deceit, past and present, came knocking on her classroom door. Her life of denial came to an abrupt halt. Well, she wasn’t about to go down alone. Not after all that’s been stolen from her. She cant take one more thing. Nothing. Dont f* with her. Stay out of her way. Don’t anyone whisper, move or knock over a candle. She will kill you!

Here’s what she was online searching just after midnight on Sunday night/ early Monday morning.

I’ve never had a whole house humidifier ( or is it de-humidifier?) so I don’t know if they had one or if she tried it.

Maybe she knew the old remedy my grandmother taught me after my nephew some how set fire to the Christmas tree. It was extinguished very quickly but the entire house reeked of smoke. Nanny boiled white vinegar on the stove with the windows and doors all closed - don’t remember how long we let it simmer. When we opened the house up the smoke smell totally went away.

Years later my dog got skunked and ran into the house for a minute and the smell permeated every inch of my house- even inside the pantries and fridge. Ugh! The vinegar trick worked like magic. Highly recommend for Smokey/skunks odor.

But yes, I agree that something is mighty fishy with her fire story.

Good morning everyone! Today we are meant to be getting the end of that first police interview that we watched for most of Wednesday, and at least one other recording. I don't know what else. If anyone knows, please share with the thread!

I will be doing a little bit of summarising, but not anywhere near the same volume as Wednesday. I rested yesterday, but I'm still tired. I had to immediately clean up after my mum's kitchen accident when I woke today, and only a few years ago when my mental health was very bad, one of my most debilitating symptoms was phantom smoke smells in my home that meant I spent a lot of my life checking for fire... so you can imagine how waking to a house actually filled with smoke smells would be stressful and throw me back there. Also, I discovered yesterday that I had bruising across the underside of both forearms from the edge of my computer desk from all the typing. So, I have a genuine transcription-related injury, especially if you loop in my existing bad shoulder, which has been hateful lately. So, I will still be commenting occasionally and giving my impressions, but not at the level I did. Look to the other members and reporters! I'm sure they'll comment on everything of note.

On Tuesday afternoon when Judge asked DA Allen what he had coming up for Wednesday, he mentioned the interviews with Detective JB and he also said there will be more pretext phone calls to play.

Hi All!
Yesterday was a welcome break from hearing her voice.
My windows got cleaned, and the yard prepped for spring.

Recalling the Edguardo ( I'm not Spanish) story lol... her realizing that she had ADT surveillance, and the door alarms will show shortly after she started her 'liatribe' was epic. The hoky-pokey dance of up and down the stairs, opening and shutting the doors, Lana coming home, and she had to pull her pants back up to answer the door....it was all like..What the Flunk? Such poisonous puke worthy venom was spewing out of her at the point. The LE listening to this had to have been floored. No wonder they wanted her phone, and the car and the warrant!

Thank you, I'm glad you remembered! I was so tired by the end there I was surprised I remembered anything about what we were meant to hear today. I'd genuinely forgotten we hadn't heard everything from former Detective Bethel. So, we have that to look forward to, and I know WE all had our impressions from that recorded interview, and I personally will be very interested to hear HERS.
