Bethel is answering questions about how Letecia was driven by ambulance to Memorial Hospital to seek medical attention, and also walked away from the hospital before completing a sane exam.

District Attorney Michael Allen: “Did the reported anxiety attack achieve her goal of wanting to leave the Sheriff’s Office?” Bethel: “Ultimately, yes.”

I fear Al got stuck paying for that ambulance ride.

He'd have BOUGHT THE WHOLE AMBULANCE if T had called one for Gannon.

Her lack of compassion, perspective, empathy is staggering.

Jessica Bethel is back on the witness stand testifying about the 4+ hour interview we’re now finished watching. Bethel was assigned to Gannon Stauch’s case as the lead detective from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

Bethel is answering questions about how Letecia was driven by ambulance to Memorial Hospital to seek medical attention, and also walked away from the hospital before completing a sane exam.

District Attorney Michael Allen: “Did the reported anxiety attack achieve her goal of wanting to leave the Sheriff’s Office?”
Bethel: “Ultimately, yes.”

Bethel also testified saying in February, she received text messages from an unknown number, but based on the context, Bethel knew it was Letecia. Bethel said the text messages, “said they didn’t do anything to Gannon, and there was no negligence on their part.”

Holy sheet, the prisoner transport van from SC had recording devices in it. Thankfully we are NOT watching the whole 24+ journey.

Bench counsel, I'm assuming defense doesn't want this shown to the jury.

Will be admitted!

Bethel testified saying in early March, she had probable cause and obtained an arrest warrant, so she went to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to arrest Letecia Stauch.

Video shows her manipulate her hands in the handcuffs attached to a belly band and then strike deputy in the head with a full Monster energy drink can. They were traveling at 70mph. LS clearly looked at the gun on her waistband.

Bethel talking about the situation before we see the video. According to her, LS slipped cuffs. Hit a deputy in the face with a full can of energy drink. Eyelines suggested to Bethel she was trying to get their guns. This all happened when they were going 75mph.

Playing now.

Bethel said Letecia was interviewed by the FBI. She said they also decided that Letecia would be driven back to Colorado. “She was calm, she ate, she sang songs, she played trivia,” said Bethel.

Bethel said Letecia had conversations not related to the investigation, she ate and drank, and was able to use the restroom. Bethel said she had the transport recorded thought because she was concerned with Letecia’s previous behavior.

This woman was responsible for the care and safety of three minor children, for years. Think on that.

In the video Stauch can be seen striking the female deputy in the head with a monster energy drink before lunging across her waist, which Bethel testified was an attempt to grab her firearm. "You just got another charge," one of the other deputies in the car said afterwards.
