T injured Det. Bethel so badly she needed shoulder repair surgery.

T is a waste.

Bethel received a shoulder injury that required surgery from a later incident where LS dropped all of her weight while being escorted. Bethel took the full force of that on her left arm.

LS is truly a monster. She was restrained and was not getting away. At that point she passively dropped and hurt the detective (requiring surgery), she will do anything to anybody to retaliate/harm to satisfy herself.

I can only imagine what it was like for those kids, Gannon in particular.

Later the lead detective said calculating. I think this is absolutely correct from each interview we see and camera footage we see of her behavior.

I missed this in the video, but Bethel just testified that after the assault Stauch used her feet to open the door to the van, which Bethel said was a further attempt to escape.

Many minivans, especially higher model ones, have buttons near the window that just need to be pressed to open the door.

*button is on the door vertical bar up near the window.

In the video Stauch can be seen striking the female deputy in the head with a monster energy drink before lunging across her waist, which Bethel testified was an attempt to grab her firearm. "You just got another charge," one of the other deputies in the car said afterwards.

Stauch says in the video she did it because the female deputy wouldn't listen to her when she asked her to turn the air conditioning in the car on.

"I did not try to escape," Stauch says several times.

Bethel says, "Sane, manipulative, and calculating."

" I believe she is sane, she is manipulative and she is calculating"
There it is!

Det. Bethel's impression of T: Sane. Manipulative. Calculating.

Bethel is back on the witness stand testifying saying she believed Letecia was trying to escape, “The fact that she had slipped her handcuffs, assaulted a deputy, then later opened the back door of the van.”

Bethel said Letecia attempted to open the van door with her foot. She said Letecia was resisting arrest, and she was tensing her body and also using her hands to try to manipulate out of the handcuffs.

When asked about Letecia appearing to have different personalities or talk in a Spanish accent, Bethel said "no." She then added, “I believe she is sane, and she is manipulative, and very calculated.”

Partway through her Eguardo story, I think she realized she needed to insert Gannon into the narrative. Suddenly he's there. No gun yet. And T is very careful to interrupt her own fabrication to explain that Gannon knows she's in distress. Lest he think she's just having an afternoon delight? Huh? Why this odd aside from her? Did she want to impress upon the detective that Gannon had been educated to know the difference between T's made up sexual assault and regular sex, so the detective would know that T hadn't consented? Hadn't given consent.... to something that never happened? You can't make this chit up. Oh, wait. We can't. She can. And did.

The jury will sort this out. Creating new stories to match details only she knows and then change, pivot, embellish as she goes is the art of a pathological liar. The word is right there. Loosely -- patho- of or relating to disease and logical -- diseased logic. It's absurd... but it's still not insanity.

It's not that T believes her story (that might be insanity); it's that she thinks everyone else does. And that's not insanity. It's just flawed logic. Tsunami of illogic. It's probably been her strategy since the first time she got away with it as a child and never outgrew it. Mixed with just enough education and just enough life experience to convince herself she's convincing.

Not her fault no one believes her, says her, seething under her hair fort.

Except it is her fault. All her fault. No one else's fault.

She is morphing in the courtroom into the real ugly she always was.

It reminds me of the trial of Oscar Pistorius and how he kept changing his account to match the evidence. IMO it’s a hallmark of lying liars who lie. Boy, I really miss the old Pinocchio emoji we used to have.

I don't understand this cross? moo
I haven't understood most of Wood's crosses.

But this one, he's trying to suggest another personality attacked the deputy.

I was going to post the same thing. He rarely says anything and when he does it never makes sense to me.

Defense asking about T's demeanor the other 23 hrs. Does it matter????? If she was singing about puppies and unicorns for 23 hours, she gets no credit for those if she assaults a police officer at 75 miles per hour during the next hour.

Besides, it shows how calculating she was. Calm and collected until she was ready to strike.

No idea why he's bringing up borderline, though, since they've been shooting for DID.

Letecia was calm. She was not switching personalities. Bethel says her behavior changed, but not Letecia's personality. Defense pulling out the DMS5 manual. Borderline Personality Disorder is being brought up by Defense. Objection. Bethel is not qualified to diagnose.

When Bethel said Letecia was sane, she was not basing her opinion on the DMS5, but most likely, Bethel's many experiences dealing with people in criminal and legal custody.

Will not be surprised to learn that T has BPD and a host of others. So do a lot of people. And don't kill anybody.
