The next witness to be called to the stand is Christian Liewer, a crime scene investigator with Colorado Springs Metro Crime Lab.

Liewer testified saying he went to the Stauch home three times in early February, and was looking for blood stains. He said most of his focus was in the garage and Gannon’s room.

She's really lucky that officer kept her cool and didn't haul off and punch her in the face after that attack. I'm honestly impressed that she didn't. Much respect for that woman (I wonder if she's also now left LE or if she's still rounding up evil monsters?)
Am I crazy? I swear she immediately punched her back to fight her off - it looked like a good connecting hit, too.

Explaining why they use the cameras they do - Nikon D500. Which from my knowledge as the partner of an amateur photographer, is a digital SLR. Basically, you have to be a photographer in addition to your CSI training. You have to know how to adjust all your camera settings very precisely to get photographs of Bluestar reactions that look like anything but dark blurry garbage.

Day 8, still here for Gannon.

IMO, the deputy reached out to grab LS's hands because she was trying to go for her gun.

Does anyone else notice how much cleaner and tidier her hair looks today? Didn't like the forensic nurse saying she was greasy :p

Agreed. It appeared to me she was reaching for the firearm. moo

Somehow I missed that. Did she actually pop her one?

I wonder if the reason they drove was to give her the opportunity to talk and talk and talk. With the camera running and the detective she was comfortable with , they might have thought she would talk like she did in the comfy, cozy room before her attempt to abscond.
She needs duck tape.

Side bar (mine):

Recalling what we knew at time (most of which came directly from T herself) relative to what we're hearing now, it's uncanny, she had an answer for everything.

And by 'answer', I mean a LIE.

Blood in the garage, blood in the house, Al's tools, blood on her bumper.

Wretch.

Witness Christian Liewer, a Crime Scene Investigator.

Had to cook something, now back to actually watch, but still cooking some apple slices. I see the boards in the garage. He says he numbered them 1-4. Blue Star positive reactions on the floor of laundry room and the door. (Note- I can see the pic of the boards on the Crime and Law channel, but can't see any of the exhibits or witness on Recovery Addict's channel.)

Oh, my soul

That's A LOT of reaction on those boards.

Oh, Gannon.

In the video Stauch can be seen striking the female deputy in the head with a monster energy drink before lunging across her waist, which Bethel testified was an attempt to grab her firearm. "You just got another charge," one of the other deputies in the car said afterwards.

Stauch says in the video she did it because the female deputy wouldn't listen to her when she asked her to turn the air conditioning in the car on.

"I did not try to escape," Stauch says several times.

I missed this in the video, but Bethel just testified that after the assault Stauch used her feet to open the door to the van, which Bethel said was a further attempt to escape.
The officers needed to turn off the video taken care of business. LE officers don’t get paid enough.

She reminds me of Hannibal Lector.

She isn't delusional, IMO, she doesn't believe any of her own lies. She wanted the fake polygraph because she knew she couldn't pass a real one (as if any LE agency would find a non-LE polygraph acceptable - it's just more evidence against her).

She really thinks that everyone, probably including the Judge, is less intelligent than she is. From her point of view, most people are stupid and she is very very smart. She's certainly not mentally disabled/intellectually disabled, either.

She is beyond the reach of any effective psychiatric diagnoses. She's a modern Medea or Countess Bathory. She has the makings of a serial killer, IMO.

The above is of course JMO.

This witness comes across to me as incredibly personable, competent, thorough, and is able to convey complex information very smoothly to laypeople.

Break!

Maybe I did see it wrong! I'm watching it on my TV through the Ickedmel channel - I'm not sure if the quality is the best. He replayed it a few times during the break and I really thought she hit her, but I can see that it definitely could have been just an aggressive grab.

You guys could let me dream, though :p

We’re now watching video of the transport back to Colorado. Letecia is seen manipulating her hands out of the restraints, glancing over several times, then taking a Monster can and hitting a member of law enforcement in the head with it.

Jessica Bethel is back on the witness stand testifying about the 4+ hour interview we’re now finished watching. Bethel was assigned to Gannon Stauch’s case as the lead detective from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

Bethel is answering questions about how Letecia was driven by ambulance to Memorial Hospital to seek medical attention, and also walked away from the hospital before completing a sane exam.

District Attorney Michael Allen: “Did the reported anxiety attack achieve her goal of wanting to leave the Sheriff’s Office?”
Bethel: “Ultimately, yes.”

Bethel also testified saying in February, she received text messages from an unknown number, but based on the context, Bethel knew it was Letecia. Bethel said the text messages, “said they didn’t do anything to Gannon, and there was no negligence on their part.”

Bethel testified saying in early March, she had probable cause and obtained an arrest warrant, so she went to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to arrest Letecia Stauch.

Bethel said Letecia was interviewed by the FBI. She said they also decided that Letecia would be driven back to Colorado. “She was calm, she ate, she sang songs, she played trivia,” said Bethel.

Bethel said Letecia had conversations not related to the investigation, she ate and drank, and was able to use the restroom. Bethel said she had the transport recorded thought because she was concerned with Letecia’s previous behavior.

We’re now watching video of the transport back to Colorado. Letecia is seen manipulating her hands out of the restraints, glancing over several times, then taking a Monster can and hitting a member of law enforcement in the head with it.

The driver of the vehicle then slams on the breaks, and the vehicle pulls over on the side of the highway.

As deputies are working to restrain her - Letecia: “She keeps threatening me the whole time.” Bethel: “Cooperate with me.” Letecia: “I will with you, but not with her.” Law enforcement: “You just got another charge.”

Bethel is now on the phone with other law enforcement calling for back-up, saying Letecia slipped out of her handcuffs, assaulted a deputy, and tried to escape. Letecia said she wasn’t trying to escape, she just wanted to open the door to get some air.

Earlier, Bethel testified saying that Letecia was moving around before slipping out of her handcuffs, and glancing at the deputies’ waist areas where their guns were.

Bethel testified saying it was a very dangerous situation, and that Letecia was already suspected of murder, then assaulted a deputy who was armed, and attempted to obtain her firearm.
Thinking about Letecia hitting the officer in the head with the Monster can brings on one big shudder. Can any of you imagine cracking someone in the head like that? I sure can’t.

Yet Letecia did so with nary a concern for the officer. No empathy, no insight, what an empty, depraved individual. She must have terrorized those poor kids.

Liewer is describing the chemical called blue star that is used to find blood stains. He said there were positive reactions found on a piece of carpet in the garage, the garage floor, on boards, a box, the door leading from the garage to the laundry room, and in the laundry room.
