As we remember the dead from that horrific night (including Ashley Moser's unborn baby which makes the total 13) lets also celebrate the baby that survived. Baby Hugo Medley born July 24th 2012. I bet that little one brings such joy to his parents Katie and Caleb.

The forms are pretty quik to fill out..check mark beside verdict and signature...probably took them a while to sort out those forms yesterday...White board likely helped them organize it all...I'm surprised Foreperson didn't require hand massages:drumroll:

Honestly, I can't imaging a different verdict for some victims and not others. All the crimes happened at the same moment. I suspect they reached the verdict yesterday evening or early this morning, filled out the forms, and rang the court. Now they're just sitting around chatting with each other. Nothing like a unified jury enjoying the mental release once they've reached the verdict.

When I was on jury duty, we reached a verdict at 9am but due to technical reasons (getting the defendant & the translator & the lawyer into the courtroom) we had to cool our heels for about 2 hours. We were having so much fun and laughing so loud (mostly due to released tensions) that the bailiff had to come into the jury room and tell us to take the volumn down a few notches.

JH already offered to plead guilty to LWOP so if he won NGRI that would be a big bonus for him. Guilty verdict wouldn't be that surprising to him. During sentencing he would probably only get LWOP anyway because his family will testify to play on jurors sympathy. The laws are changing that it's not humane to give mentally ill the DP. International law already prohibits DP for the MI.

My prediction is guilty. Others have already explained quite beautifully why he shouldn't be deemed NRGI - the planning, deception, etc..

Also, I think that even if someone on the panel feels he was actually insane, the possibility of a guy like that getting out one day is enough for them to quash any qualms they may have and find him guilty.

I have not been following the trial closely but I've remained interested in the case and have been tracking it. I will be watching the reading of the verdict but it always makes me nervous!

I bet they are relieved this part is over. I know I would be.

I'm listening to the notebook being read aloud in court on the Denver 7 feed. He totally knew what he was doing. The things he wrote in there showed he wanted to kill people. Not that he was compelled to do it.

Here's my prediction. He will be found guilty. Be sentenced to. LWOP. He will ALWAYS remain alone in protected custody. He will NEVER Be put in GP because he killed a child so the prison will keep JH protected from being killed while incarcerated.

JH was a loner anyway so he will be content with this. He will get marriage proposals from all kinds of crazy women who will always keep his commissary account full, and visits. He will be medicated so he can get plenty of sleep, free food, room and board, his own TV, medical and dental treatment, library books all at the cost of the taxpayers.

A friend of mine is a Deputy who worked at a few prisons and laid this out for me.
