She turned to her husband and he was still sitting in the chair. She was confused why he was still sitting in the chair when all the shooting was going on. Then she saw his head bleeding and she told Ashley that her husband was dead. She continued to crouch on the ground as there was still gunfire. Air was thick and hard to breath. As she was so pregnant, was hard to crouch.

Katie Medley said she got a bad feeling, felt like it was in slow motion as the canister flew through the air, and she threw her friend Ashley to the floor.

Katie Medley: "I saw him step in, he was wearing a mask and Kevlar... he had a longer gun... with a scope."

Katie Medley: "I turned to my left to talk to my husband... that's when I saw he was still sitting in his chair... and I couldn't understand why he was still in his chair when someone was shooting. He should be on the ground with us."

Katie Medley: "I saw blood pouring from his face and I knew he'd been shot in the head... I told Ashley 'He's dead. Caleb is dead.'"

Katie Medley: "We thought the shooter was going to come row by row and kill us

Katie Medley: "It was hard to stay crouched because I was so pregnant.

Katie Medley: "We saw the shooter walk by our row... we were on the edge of that row... we saw feet, we saw him walk by."

Katie Medley: "A group of people ran by our seats, there was a lot of gunfire and they went to the ground. We didn't know if they'd been shot."

Katie Medley: "I stood up and I saw Caleb was breathing." She said she saw blood pouring into his mouth, she thought it was choking him, so she poured water on his face.

Folks saw later that Caleb was breathing, so they poured water onto his face as he was choking on his blood. Next time back door opened there were police there, and they were yelling to come out the exit door. She told Ashely they could go or stay, but she had to save her baby. She grabbed Calebs hand and told him she would take care of the baby if he didn't make it. He squeezed back. She jumped over bodies and slipped on blood but the police officer caught her.

Katie Medley said officials kept the people with severely injured relatives together.

Katie Medley said instead of calling her parents and Caleb's parents to say she was going into labor, she had to call and tell them Caleb had been shot and might be dead.

Katie Medley: "When we were laying on the ground, something came through the back of a seat, and I got nicked on the head."

That was just so sad hearing that! Those pregnancy hormones can create havoc as well---I'm sure she was a basket case!

was induced with her son hugo......

Katie Medley: "Hugo is our son who is snow almost 3 years old... [Caleb] was literally in brain surgery when I was in labor."

caleb was in medically induced coma for 4 weeks

moved to another hospital....then 30 days.....then started to wake up.....then to craig hospital for 3 months....

caleb injuries......traumatic brain injury.....weaknesss on left side, speech problems....cannot walk, can talk more now than then

Per Katie Medley: Caleb performed a stand-up comedy routine the night before the shooting. Now he has difficulty talking and cannot walk.
