Yes I understand what you are saying. It just confuses me how JH was saying he heard voices in Nov 2012 yet two years later he said he had never heard voices.

I do believe he has been told or learned how to act this way. It seems awfully convenient that he has this big episode after being perfectly average in jail beforehand.

He didn't talk about them because he and his defence are trying to show ..SEE..He was psychotic and is NOW stabilized on medications..so doesn't have them any more defence. The only problem with this is their whole defence is what happened in November that proves he was in the midst of Psychotic break when shot up the theatre....BUT since Dr. Woodcock's testimony ( the one who saw him shortly after arrest) got torn to shreds...and actually shown to be biased, and structured by defence team ( Def. Bishop in room during interview with Dr. Woodcock)...kind of pulls the rug out from under all this post Nov 12, 2012 incident....

I also think the jury has caught onto that..too :moo:

Defense Attorney Tamara Brady: "The stress of jail, the stress of being charged with murder, the stress of facing the death penalty could have made [the gunman] psychotic, right?"
Dr. Lowdermilk: "Correct." anica.padilla

Now we are getting into prior history with JH's mental state #TheaterShooting #TheaterTrial

I just hope the jury are realising how desperate the defence are with these witnesses. There isn't any sign that JH was psychotic in July.

Ms Spengler doesn't seem to be getting a turn lately. She hasn't been up since the prosecution rested.

Does every witness for the defence get paid? Even the jail staff and police?

yes, that's it exactly- BBM
I can't see how they are going to prove a break in Nov. (if indeed it was real), proves he was psychotic on 7/20. That's quite a stretch to get the jury to believe or understand. It really doesn't & by putting their docs on to opine that it was, is just an opinion, not proof. And when prosecution crosses, they discredit the witness. IMO, the defense really doesn't have anything else, so they just keep beating the dead horse. Sorry horse.

So the defence are saying that JH was in this prodromal state in the run up to July 2012? Then he had a psychotic break, did the shooting then reverted back to 'normal' until November when he has another break?

Well, it seem's JH had prodromal symptoms since he was very young..so no one actually was able to see his psychosis underneath...However..here's the definition ~~

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/prodromal

prodrome pro·drome (prō'drōm') n. pl. pro·dromes or pro·dro·ma·ta (-drō'mə-tə) An early symptom indicating the onset of an attack or a disease.

Def. making such a big deal about him walking with or without assistance, 3 feet to the gurney! Must've said it over 10 times! Focusing too much on something that has no bearing on July 20th. tsk, IMO

To me, this point hurts them more than it helps. If he was supposedly catatonic, not responsive, and unable to be moved off the floor 15 minutes ago, how is he all of a sudden able to walk to gurney without assistance? To me... it implies that he was consciously being unresponsive and simply acting catatonic. His attorneys appear to be MORONS.

I really really hope this jury is sensible and they see what the RELEVANT facts are! The defence are dancing around in other directions and trying to muddy the waters.

This is what the defence is trying to suggest..But their initial witness Dr. Woodcock kind of tipped the scale on them. as was Dr. Holland.

Patient's cannot control this..it's not like an off and on switch..however..JH had an education and ability to research all this stuff too. and It appears he started his setup for crazy person defence once he decided to collect value points....Hummm wonder what site he got that idea from?
