Said one thing and another time said another thing---That's why a lot of times some witnesses will ask for transcript--my explanation isn't that clear--sorry still dealing with second cup of coffee....

yes, sometimes a witness will say something to LE at or near time of crime.
then witness is disposed by the attorney & says something else or omits something.
then in trial, the witness testifies to something he didn't say before or something that is different than his previous statements.
EX. the perp's car was light blue. the perp's car was gray, then in court- I don't remember what color the car was.
Then, the atty. can bring up the witness previous statements that contradict what he is saying in court! Impeachment! yay!
