OMG!!!! Un-Freaking-believable. There are simply no words to adequately express the disgust I feel about these charlatans being allowed to testify as "experts" in a court of law :gaah::sick:

I can just hear our member "Chelly" --- am I right? Am I right about hired guns.....wow

Excellent point, zoey! Simple, easy facetime. SMH.

I don't use it but have heard of others using it...My problem is I don't like looking at myself while on the phone--there are times I don't put on make up and I'll be darned if I would for a phone call.....(I'm not all that vain---BUT I have limits :blushing:)

AS a HC provider..WE were taught like 45 years ago+..When documenting on any patient in legal notes is that IF IT's Not Documented as completed, observed THEN it Never happened...

This witness is so unprofessional and making the ASSumption that her Word is GOOD enough ...SMH

Excellent post LyndyL...and as to the bolded entry, this is absolutely 100% true!!!!

Re BBM
I bet murderers like him never ever considered the possibility of getting just badly maimed and suffering. Like if LE would have glanced a shot across his face and wounded him badly making him suffer tremendously like he caused some others to suffer.

Or a shot near the back of the neck that would paralyze him from the neck down.

I bet he didnt think too much about that possibility. These type of criminals over simplify things. To him it was either he would be captured or a clean kill. I bet he didnt think of all the other possibilities much. Things like he caused to other people that survived and had to suffer.

I even wonder how much thought he gave to his victims having to endure suffering. IMO his kind over simplifies things.

However, he wasn't captured or injured----HE SURRENDERED :truce: IMO big difference He saw the enemy (law enforcement) and gave up .....

I'm surprised JH told Dr Gur that he only intended to harm the people in the theatre. He wanted the points value for each life. That was a blatant lie and he was trying to mislead the Dr.

but remember she wasn't manipulated at all by him....NOPE (done in my best JH impersonation)

Good Point.

These types of criminals always seem to show cowardess when it comes down to the end.

Reminds me of so many of the cases we review where the person said they were going to kill the spouse or kill the kids and then kill themselves and somehow they miraculously are the only ones that are not dead.

She is hired to say every criminal is schizophrenic and her hubby is hired to get criminals life instead of death.....she already bragged about some inmate she testified for not being put to death....one of the 2 she was hired by the defense to testify about. They're a tag team...

I know that an expert witness has to state clearly in their report the details to support how they came to their opinion. What GB is doing magnificently is showing that is NOT what Gur did.

She's left out important info/incidents & also "made up" her own statements about what jh said. Even putting in a statement that was something, that was a title of her book "A Call to Arms" that he never said. By 're-editing' her report, using select things, she then shows that is how she came to her opinion.

That is the problem for the defense using this type of witness instead of a board certified Forensic psychiatrist!!!!!
It also explains why her report was 15 pages compared to Dr. Reid's that was, if I recall about 200 pages!

BTW, channel 7 uses defense attorneys to comment, that are so clearly biased or not even watching the trial, IMO!!!!!
That guy said, GB is falling short on discrediting Gur because she is standing strong against him! WTH? IMO, she's wilting like a flower in the summer heat!

"Poetic Licence" is totally allowed when doing an interview with people..BUT it is NOT allowed in any sworn testimony nor any legal document offered into evidence .

This women could very well have her report as well as her testimony thrown out by the Judge???
http://www.journalofaccountancy.com/issues/2001/jul/experttestimonyafterdaubert.html
Daubert announced a four-part test to determine admissibility of an expert witness’s testimony. It asks:

Is the witness an expert in the sense of having credentials or experience?

Does the testimony have a basis in fact?

Is it relevant and reliable?

Are there other factors that bear upon the question of admissibility?
