Not all families wanted DP - a DP comes with multiple automatic appeals, and would take 20 - 30 years and cost millions.

Yep, and now this puts an end too it, forever.

The "experts" couldn't even agree on what mental illness he had.

That's not unusual. We really don't have a good understanding of mental illness.
I am just glad he didn't get off on not guilty by reason of insanity.

Nah have to disagree on that one. All the experts UNANIMOUSLY agreed he suffered a severe mental illness and was not faking it. Got to trust the experts here.

He was eligible for the death penalty....mental illness, differing diagnosis, is not a legal reason to coddle him. Trusting that person Gur is pathetic

So they found the aggravators outweighed the mitigators but still not enough for death. IMO it was Brady's closing that saved his life.

I firmly believe in an eye for an eye in MOST cases except self defense, and this guy doesn't have enough eyes to take.

It scares me to think about all the Holmies who are celebrating and taking selfies and mailing them off with letters of congratulations. I think JH is an excellent actor and deserves an Oscar. He pretended to be normal, then pretended to be crazy, now I guess he will drop the facade and just be the dirt bag he is, and watch tv and read books and munch on commissary junk food a la JA all day while safe and sound. I think it should be mandatory for murderers to have to have pictures of their victims in their cell.

I would love to know who were the holdouts!! IF it just one..I would have to believe there was a stealth juror in there...

I wonder why they didn't let the judge know they were having problems reaching unanimity, usually the judge will send them back to continue to deliberate like SS in JA trial. They only deliberated six hours unless they knew they had a stealth juror.

He would not have been allowed contact visits, he will get to hug his parents again. Little Veronica will never feel her mothers arms around her on this world ever again. Why should he have that luxury?

I don't know why he should have the luxury. I am not the one who voted for him to get life in prison.
