Found Deceased CO - Jax Gratton, 34, a transgender hair stylist, Denver, 15 April 2025

I wonder if sadly she was found in that long gap between the buildings and the motel. I can see if the grounds are not well cared for that perhaps no one goes back there and there may not be windows out the back. Who would even go wandering back there? MOO
I am so very sorry for her mother, friends and loved ones. She seemed very well liked and was very creative. There has been a lot of "hoopla" with transgender people of late, and I hope this has nothing to do with her. Why can't people live and let live. She made many positive contributions to this world whatever gender she was. Sending the love of God for comfort and help coping to her mother, all of her family and her beloved cat. MOO. Katt

Oh, no. 💔 I was so hoping she would somehow be okay. I hope her family can get answers.
This one made me cry. Hoping there are enough clues to find the person(s) who stole this special person.
Soft thoughts for her mom and for those others who loved her.
(Just dammit.)

Very sad outcome and also hard to explain. The part of Denver where her body was found is heavily traveled with many businesses nearby. I don't know how her body could have lain there for nearly two months without being noticed by someone. Perhaps the autopsy will uncover the mystery.
Perhaps whoever did this awfulness moved her sweet body to the area where she was found so that she would be found. SMH.

Are there garbage bins back there?

Maybe one of her previous customers had a grudge against her for being trans and thought she was flirting with them, and took it negatively. It seems she wasn't expecting to be away from home for long. Maybe the perp/customer found out where she lived and acted like they wanted a refund or had some other false grievance with her and wanted to "settle" it. I know this sounds a bit out there, but it's just a theory.

So why was she in the area by the motel? How did she get there, where did the uber drop her off? Is there record of her staying or being seen at the motel or any businesses around there? Did she meet someone at the motel that did her harm? all JMO.

That's what I'm thinking -- possibly walking (after getting out of the vehicle) to an appointment in someone's home/motel/whatever in that area -- and bad things happened there.
Or possibly someone just saw her walking in that area and didn't like what Jax "looked like." Grrrrr.

My same thought -- it does look like a long gap -- IMO it doesn't look like an area for walking. JMO

Isn't it a possibility that this wasn't murder? If Jax's body was in that spot all the time then it is strange nobody noticed though.
Another tragic possibility is an overdose. I don’t want to speculate further, but her Mom and Jax’s own Facebook posts put out information on previous struggles.

Whatever the case, we’ll know soon.

Motels on Colfax have a bit of a bad reputation and the fact she was found in the alley next to one makes me worry. Whatever happened, I don't think she ended up in that alley by herself, IMO. I really hope we get answers soon. Like I said earlier, this is local to me, and her disappearance affected a lot of people.

I feel like her phone records will shed some light onto her planned activities that evening. If it was meeting with someone, buying substances, etc. there is likely a digital trail (assuming they have her phone and can access this information).

On Tuesday, the Jefferson County Coroner positively identified the victim found in the alley as Gratton, but a spokesperson with the Lakewood Police Department said a cause of death has not yet been identified.

“This case is being treated as a suspicious death, and we are working with our partners at the Denver Police Department on this case,” the spokesperson wrote in a news release.
