Meets up with friends, walks the rest of the way to school with them-
School is 1.3 miles from her home-
LE is focusing on the 3 block area today-
Hoping residents will let them into their homes and look in their cars-
Mom and Dad have a custody battle going on, Dad lives in Missouri-
Missouri Police went to Dad's house, he has been ruled out (reporter's words)-
Mom was sleeping and missed calls from school regarding her absence-
Search happened all night-
Three weeks ago, a black sedan tried to lure children-
Volunteers are being requested-
24 hours since she has been missing-

Police are reviewing past incidents for a possible connection including the attempted abduction on Labor Day of a 22-year-old female jogger at Ketner Lake in Westminster. A man tried to put a chemical-soaked rag over her mouth. The woman was able to fight her way free and called 911.

"It's definitely something that we're looking at," Spottke said.

She lives with her mother, grandmother and aunt.

Says they are focusing on the 3 block walk to the park (meeting place)....everyone agrees that it's SUCH a short distance to disappear in, with no one seeing a thing....

Is it possible that Jessica was running just a few minutes late that morning, and when her friends THOUGHT she wasn't coming, they went on to school without her??? (seems logical)...

THEN, she DOES make it to the park, wonders where her friends are....someone could have taken her from the park....OR, if she decided to start walking to school on her own....that opens up the whole route as a possible abduction site!

That's an interesting idea, but I think mom would have mentioned that her daughter left home late that morning. JMO

This is exactly why I am such a protective parent. Someone can snatch your child in an instant. This could have been someone who had been watching the two girls walk to school every day. OMG I pray she is ok. I feel so sorry for the mother.

No way I would allow my child to walk to school alone. I don't care if they were meeting another child along the way or not, we see how quickly something can go wrong.

The distance was so short, a car has to be involved. Looking at the map, if someone got her in the car within those three blocks, they could completely be out of the neighborhood in minutes. West 106th, to 104th and onto Wadsworth Parkway (121). Just an example of a route, other ways to get out and into remote areas too.

I'm just thinking that my kids leave for school usually in a "range" of 10 minutes or so....

What I mean is, they SHOULD leave at 8:00 am....but some days it's 7:55, some days it's 8:10....

If Jessica left 5-10 minutes on the later side (but still within a "normal" range)....it might not be something too worrisome - IF her friends were still waiting. I'm just wondering if they thought she wasn't coming and went on without her.

Im just saying, before I could lay down and go to sleep after working the graveyard shift I couldn't sleep in peace NOT knowing if my child made it to school or not. There was custody battle brewing between her parents right? I think mom needs to take a lie detector test. I pray she is found safe. So sad.
