Hello All;

I am brand brand new, so thank you for having me!

I grew up near Superior, which (in my mind), is still a relatively new area. I had friends in Rock Creek, and at the time (1994), that was one of the nicer neighborhoods in the area. The neighborhood itself is definitely not off the beaten path, and is a well known neighborhood, but the road some speculated was used is a little less known than US 36. We also need to remember that it is only a few miles Northwest from Westminster, and the person in question had two days to get the backpack there.

I question the proximity of that Target store (as well as many other stores like TJ Maxx and further up HWY 36 is Flatirons Crossing Mall). Could he/she have purchased a new wardrobe for Jessica and then dumped the old clothes nearby? Just a thought and hoping it might be right because in that thought, she's still out there.

To me it makes most sense that this person drove McCaslin, pulled off the side of the road when he/she saw houses, cut through that open area between fences (if you zoom in on the google map you see a wide open grassy area), and dropped the backpack off on Alpha and Andrew. I don't know that the Alpha/Andrew means anything, but I bet this person has driven past this many times and knew right where to go (or perhaps they lived in the neighborhood at one time).

Praying for her safe return.

Why are they doing the door-to-door searching now? Why not the past three days?

They have been. But some people refused or were not home. Maybe this is a follow up on those homes.

I think I got it right this time

Yes, that is much better. The distance from her house to the park is about 500 ft.

Respectfully Snipped-

This is how I feel also. Dropping the backpack off in a residential neighborhood, away from where Jessica was taken is a diversionary tactic. I can't shake the feeling that whoever took her is from her own neighborhood, someone who has seen her walking alone in the mornings. All just MOO.

Which also makes sense why they're looking now in the area they are. That is a known back way to that side of the Front Range. If you're heading to Golden and want ease of traffic, you go that way. This person definitely knows the area, IMO. Maybe they live in Westminster and commute to Golden/Boulder?

Hmm, sorry if that quote didn't go right...still learning!

We need to stay open to the possibility of an alternative timing scenario. The possibility exists that Jessica left home a few minutes late that morning, and when she arrived at the meeting place her classmates had already left the park without her. (Keep in mind it was unusually cold that morning so the other kids may have been in a hurry to get moving). At that point, alone in the park, she continued on and walked alone toward school, along the normal route they take each day.

Another possibility is that on that cold morning, the kids who normally would have waited at the park and walked together had talked their parents into giving them a ride.

The kids in my neighborhood are fair weather walkers.

One thing I have not seen WPD mention as we have seen in other cases ...
If someone you know is acting out of character, maybe missed work or school that morning, seen cleaning their vehicle ...
Not verbatim, but you guys know what I mean.

I think that also, since that doesn't make much sense dropping the backpack where the person did, seems more like a teen or adult who doesn't think on that maturity level. It's like an act of desperation, two days after, really feeling the heat of LE still around. Around here we have cameras in our windows, I don't know why we've not heard that from anyone in her neighborhood or where it was found. Maybe I just live in higher crime area. EEK!

Thank you. I had been wondering whether the roads in that area continued on to other areas.

When was the info. on the Arvada suspect made public?

A letter went to parents in the Arvada school district a week or two ago. I saw the comment in the earliest MSM article on Saturday.

I have a lot of kids and I am a good Mom. I KNOW how important it is to keep kids safe but I also know how easy it is to rely on habit and comfort within my own neighborhood. Therefore, it strikes me as curious that Mom stood outside and watched her daughter the ENTIRE time, walking down the street, until she was out of sight. This wasn't a five year old - she was ten. Chances are, there were other kids out walking to school. Mom had just returned home from working the night shift and probably was exhausted. I know that it's what all parents "should" be doing; I'm just saying that after years of watching your kid walk to school every day, at some point you begin to feel safer and kiss them goodbye. Good for her, if she still watched her every day, but I think that "comfort" does start to take over sometime between age 5 and 10. This reminds me of the Lauren Spierer case, when the last person presumed to see Lauren said he watched her walk until she got out of site. I'm not saying Mom had anything to do with it - it could just be a comment made b/c it's what every good mom is supposed to do. I am just saying that I don't believe in reality that it's what EVERY "Good Mom" does every single morning - especially those whose kids are 10 and who have just returned home from working the night shift all night. Perhaps those who have younger kids will think I'm wrong. When my kids were young, I never would have thought there'd come a day when I would let them walk to school alone. Fortunately, mine never had to - but they do walk down the street and round the corner, out of sight, to the bus stop. I eventually did let them grow up and didn't stand there watching every morning til the rounded the corner. Now, in her neighborhood, things could be different. I feel extremely safe where I am and there are tons of kids (and parents of the younger ones) out walking when mine leave for school, so thay provides more security too.

Actually, this sketch has been out there a while. Below is a story from September 14 that includes that sketch.

http://denver.cbslocal.com/2012/09/...ase-sketch-in-child-enticement-investigation/

IMO I don't believe there is any indication that LE thinks this suspect is responsible for Jessica's abduction.

Thank you for posting this...I need to show my son this..he was approached two Thursdays ago. I live about 30miles or so from where Jessica went missing. Two Thursdays ago I came home from a business trip, my parents were watching my boys while my husband was at school (I posted already that my husband grew up in Jessica's neighborhood and went to her elementary school years ago) Anyway here is what happened

just got home from travel and found out that when Dylan and his friend were riding bikes tonight (Thursday) a car pulled up asking them if they wanted candy. They of course said no and he rode towards my mom who was looking for him and she saw a bit of the car but couldn't figure out a make/model.

The police took a statement and Dylan said it was a women driving and guy in passenger with a kid in the back and a baby about my baby's age (2yrs) age. I'm so glad he has a great memory, he said the guy had a beard like daddy..well my husband doesn't have a beard and he said when he needs to shave. I guess he did great with the officer and gave lots of details but this is my worst fear. The officer did take my son and mom in his patrol car and drove around the neighborhood looking for a car that my have seemed familiar to him but he didn't see anything

I guess the car was parked in this deadend by his friends house (really no reason to park there), maybe they were scouting the kids, maybe they were just being stupid and were trying to be nice, the cop said it was odd since they had children with them. but we live in a safe neighborhood and Dylan said he doesn't want to ride his bike, but this shouldn't stop him, they did the right thing, he just needs to be vigilant and if he sees the car or any car makes him feel weird then to tell us or an adult immediately...

Unfortunately since they didn't get a good look at the car, or a plate there wasn't much to go on. I'm sure that the local department has contacted Westminster about this but I think I'm going to just show the photo and not say anything to him to see if he says something.....Praying for Jessica...hits too close to home

Upthread at Post 379, I posted a link to an article dated September 14 that included a sketch of the suspect. So I know the info was released to the public at least as early as September 14.

When looking at the map of Rock Creek, can somebody tell me which house the backpack was found next to? It looks like it was a culdesac, wondering if it was right there next to the path into the neighborhood from the open area behind it.
