My understanding is that the court proceedings were sealed and a gag order has been put in place for two reasons:

1. Sigg is a juvenile, and
2. to protect the integrity of the prosecutions case.

"Sigg's public defenders are asking for a gag order in the case; no details of the evidence against Sigg have been released, and documents already filed in the case have been sealed."

http://www.denverpost.com/breakingn...gg-suspect-jessica-ridgeway-dna#ixzz2Aj3CATxA

"On October 25, 2012 a Judge issued an order to limit pre-trial publicity which restricts law enforcement from discussing any details of the case with those that are not directly involved with the investigation."

Colorado Rules of Professional Conduct 3.6 and 3.8 provide the basis for the order. Rules 3.6 and 3.8 can be found at the below link:

Not trying to act like a lawyer here, but I read Sigg's being tried as an adult, so the gag order wouldnt apply if he's no longer under the juvenile system? Is this right?

we won't know until tomorrow if he is charged as an adult.. even then his lawyer can likely contest that.

as for if the gag order would be moot if his charging status changes: I am not sure but would likely bet his lawyer will deal with that if necessary at that time.:twocents:

I'm wondering if th epool was full, did he drown her? Or hold her head down in the water from the pool's ledge?

I don't think the pool had water ... but that is just a guess. It was October and the snow was beginning to fly ... most likely it had been drained, if it was even filled last summer. If Westminster is on water meters, then it was probably not filled.

I think that the Colorado Rules of Professional Conduct are applicable regardless of the age of the accused.

Do we know when AS's house was questioned during the blanket of the neighborhood?

The reason I ask is that in this article it states:

Even Austin Sigg was questioned by police, according to 9News, which reported that he let them in the house to look for the girl.

http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_2...d-mom-suspect-austin?source=pkg#ixzz2AiWSxDN2

I wonder if her body was even in the house at the time of this search? If so, he was taking a pretty strong risk (if they had ANY idea at the time) of being revealed during this search. Yet he willingly let them in the house...

Either they had NO CLUE at the time, or I think her body wasn't at his house...YET. I think he went back to the scene of the dismemberment AFTER his house was searched and brought back his trophies. :furious:
BBM - in one of the links posted here today, the neighbor across St from AS (the guy that had his cat cut inhalf) said LE searched their houses on Oct. 15. I'm doing this from memory which isn't the best idea for me to try these days. (:

I imagine those searches were done by investigators/officers and not cadaver dogs.

I think AS was flying under the radar the entire time.

bbm: I was thinking today... maybe he dropped the rag?

the cross at that point wouldn't have to be tied to the jogger so much. If they have dna match between the two cases and find the cross with the perp dna then the cross most likely matches the description the jogger gave.

did that make any sense? It did to me when I was thinking it in my head LOL

Since the jogger incident was not successful what do you think could be the DNA that is associated with it?

Thx ... I would rather think that Jessica died quickly ... I think we all would rather believe that. However, I'm not entirely convinced, especially since he spent months fantasizing about abducting someone (we know he tried in May 2012, and may also have tried in 2010). We also know that he had an obsession with pornograpy.

Here's a cutaway of the basement of the house. The house is a four level split, so the main floor is the living room, dining room and kitchen (front entrance to the house). Upstairs, there are three bedroom, the main bathroom, and possibly a 1/2 bath in the master bedroom. I've approximated the locations of stairs and doors. Going down one flight of stairs leads to the garage level. This is where there probably is another 1/2 bath. There must be a door connecting the garage to the house interior on this level. There is one more set of stairs going down. This is where the furnace and hot water tank would be, and perhaps also some of the swimming pool system. There is 625 square feet of living space in the basement, but officially only a small portion of that is developed. I think that it's possible that Austin had a bedroom in that basement, or that he spent time there. There is a small, 3 foot high door from that basement area to the crawl space, which is underneath the garage. The height of that space would be about 4 feet. It's possible that Austin had plastic sheeting on the ground in the crawl space.

:what: Otto, all your graphics are fantastic. You are amazing!

Yeah, in the same article I posted the neighbor (who had the cat cut in half) says "around Oct 15th" is when police came to the neighborhood and another neighbor did say Oct 15th so it is possible he went back after the search to where the remainder of her body was (not the torso) and brought it back to his house.

Maybe?

This story haunts me, I have children, a 17 yr. old son & a 13 yr.old daughter, the key ages in 2 high profile recent cases- Jessica Ridgeway & Autumn Pasquale- I can't imagine either of my kids involved in any way in a story like this (but I'm sure their parents never imagined it either). I have no doubt that my son would never do anything like this, he loves his pets, is protective of his sister, is a very thoughtful person-but what is the small turning point for a child, that their parent could never imagine them doing something like this, when they have already turned the corner?

So the cross may have been hanging in the tree where we saw the tape?

ETA I meant to say a red flag, not tape. This was a speculation. Someone spotted on one of the posted pictures that something red was hanging on a branch of the fallen tree and thought that it looked like a flag marking a spot and that the cross could have been up there. I think the LE was climbing on the tree in that picture.

@AstroKitty.....I'm sorry to hear the grief you, your kids went through...I think a well thought gameplan for social services in a school district or system would work...these professionals tend to be more centered on helping than some school faculty tend to be more interested in cranking out diplomas like McDonalds does Happy Meals...

Thank you and no worries here. The one brat (yes I said it) that picked on my son, I had E (my kid) send him a birthday card with well wishes and hopes that despite their differences that one day they can be friends. Kill it with kindness is what we tell kids. I try and let them handle their business unless it starts to interfere with school work, sleep or personal things and that's when mommy steps in. Chicago and NYC were so much different, and in a much better way. Where we are now (for my schooling) is just pathetic.

I know so many parents that tried to push me to homeschool and I don't get that. You have to prepare your kids for the inevitable, which is life and all its unfairness. Otherwise, how else will they learn how to work in groups and speak to a ton of people who rather pick their noses (which is the corporate world at large)? I have met many home-schooled people in my college life and man o' man are they either a) out of line with little to now social graces or b) higher than Charlie Sheen by 8am to cope with it all. One guy during a speech a few weeks ago (who was home-schooled his entire life) fainted in a group presentation. He confessed it's because he's never had to do anything like it and it was beyond frightening not to have his mom there. :waitasec: . I know it takes all kinds but I've yet to see the type that doesn't go hog wild or freak out their first few years away. The kids that were bullied tend to be the guys who are "mysterious" and quiet; basically the hot ones in bio or chem that know all the answers and aren't rude. Blanket statements about in this off topic update!

Carry on..

Tape?

I recall some speculation about the cross possibly hanging in a tree but I don't recall it ever being confirmed (and of course I'm never wrong ;) lol). Can't remember anything about tape though.

In terms of the cross, after thinking about it more, I doubt LE would've removed or cut off the cord/string/chain or whatever was on the cross before showing the picture. Maybe they would, but it seems like they'd want it as close to the condition they found it in as possible if asking people to identify it.

My sister Homeschooled for 6 years because of her child's health issues using on-line classes. Other dance moms homeschool and their kids get plenty of social time with competitive dancing. Most homeschoolers I know are involved in extra-curricular activities, arts, sports, etc. They can be more involved even because they can work their school schedule around these activities. At the high school level, some take community college classes earning high school & college credit at the same time. That is the modern homeschooler.

I too wish that more schools not only implemented anti bullying policies, but more importantly that they actually followed thru with ensuring that the policies were enforced.. I was lireally paying $1500.00 per month(which I understand is considerably lower than other parts of the country) for private school that supposedly had this excellent, well enforced anti bullying policy among other positive influences and opportunities..

Yea right.. I was basically paying to have my child bullied and quickly learned that not only were their policies NOT ENFORCED, BUT ACTUAL TEACHERS, STAFF WERE NOT ONLY ALLOWING IT BUT ENCOURAGING THE BS!

BEAST OF A MOTHER PROBABLY IS THE KINDEST THING THEY CALLED ME ONCE I'D HAD MY FILL AND MARCHED UP THERE ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS PICKING THEM OFF ONE BY ONE AS I CALLED THEM OUT ON THEIR BS..

what a waste of money nightmare those couple years ended up being:furious:..and to think they sell themselves on being top of the line in every category..yea right!

Hugs to you darling. I know that feeling all too well. We are private schooling it here and that's exactly the issue! I find the teachers to be worse than the kids. JMO of course. I have respect for teachers (I'm a student as a job these days, I swear) but some take their authority a tad too far. In private schools where the waiting lists are insane, with old money and familiar names dominating, things get hairy really quickly.

Like I said, I'm just showing what I see around me, by no means am I stating it to be in totality. The person I was speaking of is 18. So I guess he would be a modern version? I don't know. All I know is I couldn't home-school, I sincerely do not have the patience so my hats are off to anyone who teaches, parent or not.

I don't know if anyone else here has school age children, but my 12 year old brought home a paper today about stranger danger. We've had 1 attempted abduction here this year, but now with the recent cases in the news it's really heightened up fear. Even our campus (who has a big Halloween to do) has changed everything. Anyone who wanted to participate in the candy, costume judging or haunted house had to pay their 35.00 for a background check. Not a bad idea at all, sorta freaky it's not been done before though. We did have an attempted abduction of an adult female 4 blocks away at the start of the month (caught on tape no less) by 2 prison escapees. I swear, I can't wait to move.
