The skirt would cover the side wheel wells, not the whole back end.

I wish someone would post a picture of what the car is supposed to look like.

Perhaps the backpack was picked up by someone thinking they'd call the school the next day only to find out this explosion so they returned it to the scene not wanting to get pulled into the situation.

Can you guys hold down the fort without me? I'm off for the rest of the day...

Well, a sedan is not a station wagon...

I believe the children were the witnesses identifying the vehicle in that case. I don't know if they would know the difference between a sedan or station wagon, especially if terrified.

If the vehicle in Maine has Colorado plates, is blue and has wheels that stood out, I would say both cases might be related. :waitasec:

So glad there is so much news, leads and Jessica's face is gaining national attention. For some reason, I feel hopeful in this case. :please:

As s/he said s/he was a teacher in California, I assume EQ is earthquake. (ie an earthquake drill.) Apologies if I'm in error or speaking out of turn.

Yes... as a California retired teacher ... Earthquakes (EQ) are the number one thing that enters my mind when thinking of Emergency Procedures...

However.. the procedures pertain to any seismic event, terrorism, fire, or a stranger on campus.

hahaha can you tell that I am not from an area that has earthquakes? We do have tornadoes however...

What's a tornado? Ha ha ha!

But I imagine tornadoes would fall into CA Emergency Procedures as "siesmic event"? :dunno:

Please have a look below at the graphic I made. A comparison of the two locations reveals a similarity between the area where the abduction may have occurred (Chelsea Park) and the location where the backpack was left by the perpetrator(s). Note that at both locations there is a fence enclosing a backyard. Additonally, at each location there is a house with one side that faces the street and in which there are no windows overlooking the street.

IMHO, the similarity between these two locations is an indication that the perpetrator(s) is familiar with both of these neighborhoods, and had been loitering in both neighborhoods prior to October 5, 2012.

Yes, I know. But the description said it was just the rear wheels that possibly had a skirt, not the entire side of the car. That makes me think there was something distinctive about the back of the car, and perhaps it was actually a station wagon but the eyewitness didn't get a clear enough view of it. The description was also given by a child (I assume) who might not know the difference between a sedan and a station wagon.

I'm just saying, there aren't too many blue mid-90's model cars on the road. It seems like quite a coincidence.

lockout

Anastasiya Bolton ‏@abolton9news
witt elem on "lock out" @westminsterpd requested no kids outside. parents can pick up kids w ID. no outside play 4 recess #jessicaridgeway

What caught my eye was "parent can pick up kids w/ ID"...

But it doesn't say parents can only pick up kids if they have ID...

Just wondering ... if any Coloradoans (word? :-) ) can clarify this?

TIA

I dont give much credence to these sightings of Jessica. In every case where someone goes missing there are many sightings of them all over the country.

Even in Laci Peterson's case people were sure they saw her in their area but of course they didnt.

The police are getting calls about sighting of Jessica from Texas to Maine.

This sure takes a lot of time for LE to rule all of these sightings out.

I dont think she is really in Maine but would love to be wrong.

IMO

This is just how I felt about it when I first heard of the sighting. Then I read the witnesses account and she states the child stayed in the car and she only saw her through the window!

It sounds like a complete no hoper - unless they have a local suspect with a matching car who is currently unaccounted for.....

I am with you. I have no idea what they mean by a skirt or even fancy wheels.

I would imagine the child witness/witnesses were shown pics of a sedan and a station wagon. Evidently, they picked the sedan.....

We had one this morning at 12:30 AM!!! 4.5 No biggie for those in Earthquake zones but it was for us. Scared the heck out of me and most of our Province.

I'm still jittery.

Not to be nosey, and more out of curiosity..... but where , generally,.. was this EQ?

DH and I have easy link to World EQ map and listings since we are in EQ Country!

Yes... 4.5 can give a bit of a jolt.. especially if one isn't used to them! :hills:

Yes a picture of the car would be nice. Someone posted under the article about the sightings in Maine that if it were Jessica, wouldn't someone in CO be aware of someone who drives a car like the one described and that they've been missing from CO for a few days.

If LE has connected some dots that way, maybe that's why they put out a lookout for the car?

Isn't that the car that the boys described who reported being approached by a guy offering candy? That's why I posted that the victim could be a boy or a girl.

In cases where the victim was found alive, did we hear about how there was a sighting, LE is looking for the vehicle, and then it was announced they were found? I feel like in most cases where the victim is rescued, the only "build-up" is an announcement that a press conference is coming shortly...

BTW... The earthquake was in Montreal, Quebec (Canada) - definitely not a typical event..:)

Sounds to me like someone rode into Colorado and kidnapped her but doesn't live there. He probably knew they'd do a local Amber alert and so crossed the border ASAP.

However, something's a little off here. This guy must be the luckiest abductor in the world to happen to pick a child whose mother worked at night and slept all day, unless he stalked them and picked her for this very reason.
