oh please don't give up on the dogs...

OT: My kittens just want an endless supply of feathers - my dog and all dogs, as your adorable dog avatar shows, just want an endless supply of smells. moo

I am not giving up on the dogs. I think they couldn't find her traveling outward from the apartment because she didn't.

I tend to think someone picked her up or snatched her from nearby of her leaving place. jmoo

Beyond Belief, I do hear you, but I remember Yogi, too. We need to spend more money training these dogs. It's got to be cheaper than paying the overtime that accrues in these cases, besides being far more effective. Here's some of poor Alie and Yogi's story.
Snipped-
A bloodhound with floppy ears and enough skin to cover two dogs, Yogi had joined the K-9 Unit of the Aurora (Colo.) Police Department in 1991. The Berrelez case gave him a chance to prove that he was blessed with “an incredible nose,” according to his handler, Officer Jerry Nichols. Days had passed since Alie's disappearance, rain had fallen, and hundreds of people had tramped through the neighborhood in their search for the missing girl. The kidnapper had probably abducted Alie by car and was most likely miles away by now. Englewood police doubted that Yogi could pick up the trail.

man... you could hear a freaking PIN DROP when you google her name right now in terms of reporting. I am so afraid for her.

FBI would not confirm there was even a birthday party. [/B]

Also good point about reporting the creepy car video to LE. Someone should do that.

Back to reading and catching up....

According to SC's Facebook, there was a party.

My dog used to stick his head out the car window just so he wouldn't have to listen to me.

That makes sense! Could be someone living right near by or visiting, or a person who knew the time Kayleah was leaving.
Was there actually a birthday party - wonder if she lied to mom about it? moo

Hi everyone, just went through the entire thread about this case.
Somehow, seeing the more recent pictures of Kayleah gave me new feelings. She does look a lot more adult than the first pics. It seems to me more possible that she did run away, and having the 17 yo BF does not seem too far fetched - not right by any means, just that the age gap does not seem so broad ( I am not talking about MENTALLY - a 12 yo is far too immature mentally to be with a 17 year old).
I am thinking that someone picked her up from her home.
I get the feeling she is alive. Sometimes I just get gut feelings, no other real hint jumps out at me.
She may have been hanging out with folks a lot older that her, unbeknown to her Mom.
Let me just pray my "feelings" are correct.

Took this from a printed piece of media - unfortunately I don't have the link - so far, this is all we have:

ayleah Wilson case: Timeline of the search

Sunday
» 3:40 p.m.: Kayleah Wilson says goodbye to her mother, April Wilson, and leaves the apartment in the 2800 block of 28th Street. She's walking to meet a friend south of the Greeley Mall, then to go to a birthday party. It's likely she crossed U.S. 34 Bypass to get to the Greeley Mall.

» 10 p.m.: Discovering Kayleah did not make it to the party and did not return home, April Wilson calls Greeley police to report her daughter as missing. As is standard with missing older children — Kayleah is 12 — police handle it as a possible runaway and put out an alert to watch for her.

Monday
» Morning
: Greeley police officers discuss the case, canvas the area and learn there is no indication that Kayleah is a runaway. Police spend the day questioning the family and friends of Kayleah and contacting possible witnesses in the neighborhood and the area south of the Greeley Mall.

» Police request an Amber Alert through the state, but are told the case does not meet the requirements. Her name and photo are placed on state and national missing children sites. There is no evidence of her running away, nor is there any evidence of foul play.

Tuesday
» Morning
: Search dogs are brought in but are unable to pick up a scent of the girl. Detectives decide it is time to send out a press release.

» 2:54 p.m.: The first press release with Kayleah's photo and description is e-mailed from the Greeley police to media throughout the state; police increase the number of officers and detectives working on the case. The FBI is asked to join the investigation.

You're welcome, Mommy2Sarah. That was one amazing dog, and I pity all the other dogs in trying to have to live up to his legendary skills lol. That's one hard act to follow.
RIP Alie-we haven't forgotten you, sweetie.

eyes,
jmo but I see the perp being right in the vicinity.. whether that be someone who lives in that same complex or someone out "hunting" on a weekend afternoon (I see both as being plausible and possible).

Dogs cannot find a trail at all. She did not, insofar as we know, actually leave that area and that is exactly why the fbi and LE are so focused (jmoo) on that immediate area and interviewing those closest to her (mother and grandmother).

My question is WHO is in ground zero? Anyone we should be concerned about? Any RSO's? Any noted 'pervs' that took an unusual interest in children? And don't exclude females. I think we all learned that in the Sandra Cantu case. Did anyone perhaps see her walk out and someone offer to give her a ride to the party? Has she ever accepted rides from anyone in the past? If so, from who, where, and when? We know her mother does not have a car.. so was there anyone who provided her a ride now and again to ease the burden of walking??? I know for certain my own 12 year old son would be ALL OVER THAT if I even let him do such things on his own. Walk? Why walk if you can ride? Could someone local have offered her a ride? (and I am talking local to the apartment building to include frequent visitors like her 17 y/o ex bf)

6 days away is a long time for a 12 yr old to hide out.

We also have a picture of a look alike RED asthma inhaler - the only identified item Kayleah was know to be carrying. Police have asked anyone who should see this inhaler on the street, in the bushes, or anywhere to please call 911 and report it.

I hope your feelings are right! That would be so wonderful. I too have been getting a feeling since day 1, and it was Rist Canyon. I'd look at her picture and the words were like a mantra. It's subsided now. I doubt it means anything more than I should be on meds lol.
