I don't understand why the friend she was supposed to meet didn't call her home when she didn't show up.

That's if she really was expected there ~ which I'm still trying to figure out.

Maybe a wall had been recently painted - I mean like on that Sunday Kayleah went missing. That would be cause for LE to want samples from underneath. Or, maybe there was a hole in the wall that left concern. moo

or perhaps a figurative wall? (re LE's reluctance to talk about prior family things)

GREELEY — FBI agents and local police are diverting traffic off of 30th Street into parking lots on the west side of the Greeley Mall today, and asking drivers if they saw anything unusual around the time Kayleah Wilson disappeared Sunday afternoon.
More than 25 Weld County Sheriff's deputies, Greeley and Evans police officers and FBI agents are participating in the diversion.
"People understand what is going on and the community is behind this," said Greeley Sgt. Juan Cruz.
He said the diversion will continue until 5 p.m. and may be repeated on Sunday.

I'm really glad NG covered this case tonight!

The comment about being a lot of surveillance cameras . . . I don't really think so. There is one at the intersection of 28th st & 23rd ave, but we don't even know if she went that way. That is the way I suggested would be most logical and safe, but they are still saying she probably crossed the hwy, so she wouldn't have been anywhere near that camera. There are ones on the mall itself but they were pointing towards delivery doors. I did not see any in the parking lot, on any of the light posts -- so, unless they were well hidden . . . . The first two apt complexes to the south claimed to have cameras, so let's hope. The Hastings store she frequented did have two and would've caught her if she was near there, but it is across 23rd ave from the mall.

Victomology being mentioned by Pat Brown, less likely would be a serial killer, this girl is pudgy <what!!> so more likely a child predator.

Someone looking at photos of her face only? She looks athletic, not pudgy. Wonder how the school nurse would describe that.

Profiler( Pat Brown) just said she was heavier than SO usually like, As they prefer thinner. WTH.

I was pretty shocked and disgusted by these statements myself. This child is missing and they're going to say she's too fat for a sex offender?!? I just lost A LOT of respect for her. Disgusting and unnecessary. Pathetic.

I was reading the first few pages of the thread and IIRC, she's 5'1", 145 lbs. I do think, though, that PB's comment was completely out of line. Since when do criminals have a "preference" if they're desperate? MOO

I am just now tuning into Nancy Grace tonight because I didn't see it at 8PM. I just have to say that this asshat (I want to call him worse but I can't! LOL) of a cop that is taking questions has me completely livid right now. How can this guy sit there and say they don't care that she had a 17 year old boyfrined? ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW? OMG I can't believe this bull****! I wish Nancy Grace was on there because she would have went completely off on him. I've never been so livid while watching this show before.

I also just heard of the case while watching NG's show tonight and I'm confused about a couple of other things ~ such as the 17 y/o boyfriend to start with and a question about her not carrying a birthday present for the friend whose party she was supposed to be going to. I guess my question is ~ was she even intending to go to the party or could she have possibly met up with the b/f? :waitasec: I haven't had a chance to read back on the case yet.

Because he's 5 years older than her? The cop was like "We don't care about they boyfriend"or something that effect. I mean if she had a boyfriend 5 years older than her what if she had another one even older that they don't know about? I just thought of that. IDK I just think its odd that they said we don't care. Maybe I am overreacting? LOL

Thanks and good to see you too! I'm still back a few pages with reading, and it seems this poor girl just vanished in broad daylight. Eight blocks can be a dangerous long walk in this day and age, depending on the area she'd have to walk through.

IIRC, LE did not want to comment on the bf aspect, their focus is on finding Kayleah.

I noticed on her FB she seems to be whining about not getting enough attention. Very odd.

I think the point about her size/weight is more that PB believes that the offenders wanting to grab someone quickly are looking for a small, light weight, in one scenario and in the area of child predators, they are looking for smaller kids who look more like children, which is what they "crave"...Kayleah is a larger girl who could be mistaken for much older. I do not think she meant it in in disparaging way, it is more a question of easier access for offender or preference to childlike looks, which has proven to be true with most child predators...
I am very curious as to what may have happened in the house and why LE is being secretive about that...they cause lots of speculation when they do this when maybe there is nothing there to worry about...
