Please call in tips for LE. Please don't assume that if something is posted here that LE has it as a tip. They might not, and it could be just the info that leads to bringing the missing person home! Be a hero - call it in :)

Websleuths is a victim friendly forum, and family, friends, and loved ones who are not named POIs or suspects are considered victims. Please treat them with dignity and respect.

We can discuss and link myspaces for named POIs and suspects who are 18 and older. We don't sleuth others just because they know the victims because it's invasive of their privacy.

We can discuss and link to Kayleah's myspace, even though she is a minor, because she is the victim, and her social pages can help us to develop leads and tips to call in to LE.

If you think a social space that falls outside the guidelines has information that would be helpful to post, please PM a mod before discussing or linking. We do bring in other social spaces on a case by case basis. Examples are Kayleah's parents and foster parents, which have gotten the okay to link, in an effort to develop leads and tips to find Kayleah.

The mods for this forum (Missing/Located) are Imamaze and Hoppyfrog, and Salem and I are mini-mod helpers. PMs with questions are always welcome by all of us! :)

Thank you, sleuthers, for your work and updates on this case!

Thanks,
BeanE

i am curious too if you can send it privately so i can look up her page?

We can't request or offer to send information privately. If it can't be posted, it shouldn't be being discussed.

Thanks,
BeanE

There seems to be some question about whether there was actually a party or whether Kayleah was actually going to the party. I think last night it was being discussed that it was because the person Kayleah was supposed to meet didn't seem to know that Kayleah was supposed to meet her until LE went to talk to her.

Do we know yet for sure if she was supposed to meet somebody and/or supposed to go to the party? Do we know if the person she was supposed to meet had a car?

If there's no scent outside her home, it sounds like she got into a car with someone.

Sorry I'm not completely up to date on the details. I'm trying to follow but I keep getting distracted.

The lady that started the facebook page for KW contacted me via FB because I had some pics and articles about Higher Grounds and The Farm, she needed some contact info since she was interested in holding it out there, so I contaced the person who runs it to give him her number, and at that time he had not heard anything about anyone being missing, so it was only after our conversation and of course being contacted about the vigil that anyone out there was aware of it.

Interesting.... there are two "Higher Grounds"- one, a ministry, hosts teens for music and Bible study. The other has horses (and "farm") IDK which one was K's "favorite hangout" mentioned on FB- but I did remember the mention that she liked music, so I assumed it was the church one... or are they both related somehow???

Have you looked into the Aspen Babb case, missing 14 yo & pregnant in Lakewood, CO. She has been missing for over a month

I wanted to bring this gal fwd also: Katrina Rachell Dinges-age 16- missing April 7, 2009 from Johnstown, CO (which is about 17 mi away from Greeley- and a straight shot across Hwy 34). She's assumed to be a runaway. I could find almost NOTHING about her. There are certainly a lot of kids who do runaway, but, what if, she did and ran into the wrong person??

In looking at NCMEC, there are 6 girls all missing in the Denver to Greeley area (which I realize is a pretty large area) in the past 18 months. Most are assumed run-aways...

This "runaway" topic is an issue for me... My cousin started running away at age 15. Yes, she was a run-away, but she was into things she had no skills to manage, and with people who were awful. She would come home, run away again, etc. She just died of AIDS this year. Last week should have been her 27th birthday. She did not get AIDS from being a run-away- she got AIDS from what happened to her while she was a run-away. Sorry to vent, but this issue really gets to me.

Here ya go, BeanE

On Friday, authorities were scattered along 30th Street, south of the Greeley Mall, stopping traffic and handing out photos of the missing girl. The birthday party Kayleah was supposed to attend was held in that area. About 500 motorists were asked if they'd seen anything on March 28.

Has this been called in to LE?

Hi BeanE I called in all that info at the begining on Tuesday when Kia had come across it. I spoke with the investigators. They are full aware of it and had already been on top of it about 3 hours prior to my call, they had also spoke with the 18 year old everyone keeps refering to as well by that time.

They appreciate all tips coming in no matter how small and encouraged me and anyone here to send in tips we may find that we feel of importance.

Aww, Sad, hugs to you. It hurts me, and I'm not a relative. I can't even imagine.
All these children whose lives are snuffed out. It's so heartbreaking! The courts need to show zero tolerance to these molesters.

THis was a good article:

Granting freedoms to ‘tweens' no easy task
Disappearance of 12-year-old Greeley girl sheds light on safety, setting boundaries
By Jakob Rodgers

As a habit, Carmen Bustillos keeps a close eye on her 10-year-old daughter, Ilse Montes. She doesn't leave her home alone, and there's parameters about where she can play in her neighborhood.

But when word spread of the disappearance of Kayleah Wilson, 12, Ilse couldn't sleep. She lay awake in her bed, wondered if the news was true and asked her mother a steady stream of questions.

Truth be told, however, Bustillos' nerves weren't doing much better.

“I don't think I would allow her to go beyond the block,” Bustillos said, adding she will drive her child more often. “It's just my fears are heightened.”

The investigation into Kayleah's disappearance, which continued on Saturday with law enforcement officers conducting ground searches in wooded areas in Greeley and ponds in west Greeley, has naturally summoned questions about how much freedom “tweens” — children in the range of 11-12 years old — should be afforded.

Kayleah Wilson case: Search focuses on woods, ponds
Still no sign of missing 12-year-old Greeley girl
Sunday, April 4, 2010

SNIPPED ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Mackenzie Wilson, Kayleah's older brother, spoke briefly to the media at the family's home Saturday.

“It's just a roller coaster,” said Mackenzie, 17. “We don't know. We are just waiting and hoping people will help.”

Assistance from the community grows daily in the effort to find Kayleah. Students at Brentwood Middle School, which Kayleah attends, made ribbons Thursday to raise awareness of her disappearance. One of her classmates is making T-shirts with Kayleah's picture, and the Village Inn, 921 30th Ave. in Greeley, on Saturday gave free biscuits and gravy to volunteers helping in the search.

“We just wanted to help them out,” said Renee Hudspeth, a manager at the restaurant.

Asked how his family is holding up, Mackenzie said, “It's just stressful. We're getting anyone possible to help.”

I know that all of us who followed Somers case are hurting. I just pray this case turns out much better.

I was wondering if the new Somer Thompson Foundation could help here. But I cant find any contact info... I will check with ST later this afternoon.
