Frazee Search Warrants Released: Suspect Seen In Walmart Day Berreth Disappeared
Police also shared a surveillance picture of Frazee in the baby section at Walmart on Thanksgiving.

frazee-walmart.jpg

Prosecutors say that is the day Frazee killed Berreth and then burned her body. Investigators have not found her body.

[...]

“Frazee told officers that his romantic relationship with Kelsey was over, and during the custody exchange he returned items that belonged to her, including a handgun, residence keys, and other personal belongings. To date, none of those items have been recovered,” the documents state.

[...]

During the investigation, Cheryl was staying at Berreth’s home and noticed what appeared to be blood on the outside of a toilet in the bathroom. She says she also noticed a bath mat was missing.

Crime scene analysts then tested the bathroom for blood and received positive results on:

Bathroom floor
Side of the bathtub that is next to the toilet
Ceiling above the toilet
The wall with the towel rack
Towel rack
Base of the trash can that was between the toilet and bathtub
A portion of the vanity countertop
Wall outlet
Vanity cabinet
Hinges on the vanity cabinet and door
Door knob on the interior of the bathroom door
Lower hinges of interior bathroom door
GFI outlet and outlet plate

Among other evidence collected were envelopes of teeth.

Search warrants show text conversations between Kelsey Berreth and Patrick Frazee, what evidence was gathered from his home
[...]

According to evidentiary information listed in one of the warrants, Sheila Frazee told police that her son paid for Berreth’s cell phone, AAA and car insurance, and also gave her $700 a month in child support payments.

Berreth was last seen alive in Safeway surveillance video on Nov. 22, 2018. Patrick Frazee told police that he last saw her in-person while they exchanged their young daughter in the alley outside of her home, and that his final communication with her was a Nov. 25 text message that said, “Do you even love me?”

According to cell phone records detailed in the warrants, Patrick Frazee responded and said he did. However, prosecutors allege that Berreth had been killed days before the text was sent, and it instead was written by Kenney, who was driving back to her Idaho home from Colorado.

[...]

Prosecutor’s claim that after Berreth’s disappearance, Patrick Frazee wrote messages to himself from her phone. According to the search warrants, some of the texts were mundane, discussing plans to go for a run. Two days after Berreth was last seen alive, the warrant said Patrick Frazee texted her: “If this is truly what you want, I’ll respect your wishes and give you space. Let me know if you change your mind. I’ll leave you alone now, you can call me when you decide what you want to do.”

During initial interviews with police, investigators said Patrick Frazee told them he and Berreth were essentially broken up, and had a loose custody agreement of their daughter.

But, in the text messages listed in the warrant, the pair were texting up until Berreth’s disappearance, and seemed to be planning on celebrating Thanksgiving together.

Kelsey Berreth case search warrants released
The documents contain some peculiarities that police looked into while investigating Berreth’s disappearance.

According to the warrant police obtained to search the home Frazee and his mother shared in Florissant in mid-December, supporting documentation for the warrant application showed that Woodland Park police received a Facebook message of a screen shot of a post made by a woman named Sheila McCorkle-Frazee at 4:36 p.m. on Nov. 22 that shows a picture of Glinda from “The Wizard of Oz” and says, “YAY the witch is dead”.

ABC News reports that Sheila McCorkle-Frazee is not Frazee’s mother, but a different person entirely. Frazee’s mother is also named Sheila Frazee.

Police wrote in the warrant just after the screen shot: “There have been several inconsistencies between the information that Patrick initially gave officers and information obtained during the investigation.”

Frazee’s arrest affidavit showed that Berreth was last seen alive when she was captured on surveillance cameras at the Woodland Park Safeway with her daughter at 12:27 p.m. on Nov. 22, and that investigators believe Frazee killed Berreth inside her apartment before 3:30 p.m. that day, according to the warrant.

The same warrant for the search of the Frazee home in Florissant shows that investigators recovered a “floral fitted sheet with possible blood” and five teeth – four in one envelope and another separately. They were among 67 items seizedduring the search.

Patrick Frazee's blow up after daughter's birth prompted call to Social Services, search documents show
Another document in support of a search warrant raised the possibility that Frazee's mother, Sheila Frazee, with whom he lived on a ranch in Florissant, knew about the killing and had kept it secret.

A screenshot of a posting to a Facebook page registered in the name of Sheila McCorkle-Frazee cheering, “YAY the witch is dead, ”was among the evidence made public in a trove of search papers unsealed by a judge this week.

However, the spokeswoman for the 4th Judicial District Attorney's Office said Wednesday the “witch” comment was not posted by Frazee's mother.

"It's just a very strange coincidence, but it is not Patrick Frazee's mother," Lee Richards said. "They saw it, they investigated it and it was not Patrick Frazee's mother."

No charges have been filed against Sheila Frazee in the Berreth case, records show, and her attorney, Joshua Tolini of Colorado Springs, declined to comment, citing a gag order.

Prosecutors called Sheila Frazee to the stand at a prior hearing for Frazee, 32, but a judge ruled that she didn't have to testify after her attorney indicated she would assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination.

During that hearing, El Paso County District Attorney Dan May said he wanted to question Sheila Frazee about a witness' report that she saw her son burning evidence on their Florissant-area ranch.

Kelsey Berreth sent a final loving message to fiance Patrick Frazee | Daily Mail Online
REVEALED: Kelsey Berreth sent a final loving message to fiance Patrick Frazee before 'he beat her to death' and then spent three days faking text messages between their phones to make it look like she had dumped him

Berreth had been up until 4am helping Frazee with errands and fetching him medicine before arriving home with their daughter Kaylee on the day of her murder, and after just a few hours of sleep texted Frazee, writing: 'Want to go out to eat?'

A shirt while later, at 9:37am, she texted: 'Call us when you wake up.'

Finally, just after leaving the safeway store with her daughter at 12:41pm on Thanksgiving, Berreth wrote: 'I bought some sweet potatoes in case you wanted sweet potato casserole but I forgot to get pecans you should get if you want some.'

Frazee did not respond, and a short while later he is believed to have beaten Berreth to death with a baseball bat at her home.

He then spent the next three days carrying in a fake text conversation between himself and Berreth according to police.

Five teeth, potentially bloody sheet found in search of Patrick Frazee’s home, court records show – The Denver Post

“They also found “four teeth in a small envelope” and a fifth tooth held separately.

One of Berreth’s teeth became a gruesome point of discussion during a recent hearing involving Frazee’s alleged accomplice, Krystal Jean Kenney Lee, an Idaho nurse.

Lee told investigators that Frazee had her clean up “a mess” at Berreth’s townhome after he killed her, the affidavit says. Frazee specifically asked her to look for a tooth that may have fallen down an air vent. Lee found a tooth inside the apartment that included the full root.

But no mention was made about teeth Frazee may have found on the floor after allegedly cracking Berreth in the head repeatedly with a bat. Berreth’s blood was later discovered on walls, in the cracks of floorboards, on a toilet, a mantle and the kitchen refrigerator.”

Vanessa Curie and her mother, Georgia, open up about Vanessa’s relationship with Frazee, which lasted about three years.

Georgia tells NBC News’ Andrea Canning: “He was very charming at first. And then he confides in her. She'd always say he was this little boy in a man's body.” She added, “And then when he know he'd have her, he’d spin this mental cruelty web around her to the point where she almost thought about suicide one weekend.” Click here to watch the exchange, which aired on TODAY this morning.

During the one-hour broadcast, NBC News’ Andrea Canning sits down with Frazee’s friend Clinton Cline, who believes Frazee did not commit the murder, as well as Kelsey’s cousin JoDee Garretson, who is speaking out for the first time on television since the February preliminary hearing.

Killer fiance Patrick Frazee almost lost custody of daughter after delivery-room tirade | Daily Mail Online

Patrick Frazee is currently fighting two major battles in Teller County Court, one for his alleged role in the murder for former fiancee Kelsey Berreth and the other for custody of the couple's only daughter Kaylee.

That custody has thus far been denied due to Frazee's incarceration and the fact that prosecutors have charged him with the death of Berreth.

It turns out however that Frazee almost lost custody of his daughter just hours after she was born, following an abusive tirade directed at hospital workers.

That was detailed by Berreth's mother Cheryl to detectives and included in a Search Warrant Application that was obtained by DailyMail.com.

'Cheryl shared a story regarding the birth of Kaylee. Kaylee was born three weeks early and required special medical care,' reads the warrant.

'That special medical care prevented Kelsey from having Kaylee in her hospital bed.'

It goes on to explain: 'Patrick was very upset about this because he believed the first few hours of birth needed to be spent with mother and father for bonding purposes.'

The practice of removing premature babies from their parents and to an incubator or the newborn intensive care unit is a very common practice.

Frazee did not react kindly however to his daughter being taken away.

'Patrick became so upset and verbally abusive with the nursing staff that Social Services was notified,' Cheryl told investigators.

'Kaylee was removed from the care of Patrick and Kelsey until a safety evaluation could be done to determine if Kelsey was being physically abused by Patrick.'

Cheryl went on to say that Patrick said he should have 'killed' the nurse later, and even joked about the incident at his daughter's first birthday.

DailyMail.com reached out to social services to try and confirm this story, but the agency did not respond to a request for comment.

Authorities call 'Witch is dead' post in Patrick Frazee case a 'strange coincidence': report
A woman who shares the name of a suspected killer’s mother, reportedly wrote “YAY the witch is dead,” on her Facebook wall a few hours after the man killed his fiancée, according to a police warrant.

[...]

Strangely, the Facebook account belonged to a woman named Sheila McCorkle-Frazee, who is not actually Frazee’s mother, the report said. The post was dated only a few hours after Berreth was believed to have been killed.

“It’s just a very strange coincidence, but it is not Patrick Frazee’s mother,” Lee Richards, a spokeswoman for the 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, told the Gazette of Colorado Springs. “They saw it, they investigated it and it was not Patrick Frazee’s mother.”

Warrants reveal cell phone evidence in Frazee case
[...]

“This case has involved highly technical work, including cell phone records and other data that has led to today’s arrest,” said Chief Miles De Young of the Woodland Park Police Department at a Dec. 21 press conference announcing Frazee’s arrest.

[...]

With help from Verizon, police were able to track both of their phone locations on Thanksgiving Day.

A figure developed after securing a warrant for Frazee’s phone and Verizon records for both his and Berreth’s phones showed how police tracked the devices appearing to travel together. Around 5 p.m., the phones both ping off the same tower in Florissant. They were traveling southwest, from Woodland Park, heading toward Frazee’s residence.

cell-phone-figure-1024x576.jpg

The figure above shows their rates of travel, which police were able to calculate when they received information on each phone’s response time to the tower. Berreth’s phone is the arc on the left, and Frazee’s is the larger arc on the right.

“That’s how you get that arc that shows that approximately that cell phone is, you know, a mile, a mile-and-a-half away from that tower,” Pfoff said.

Then, there’s evidence of a plot in text messages police obtained between Berreth and Frazee’s phones.

shared-texts-1024x576.jpg

[...]

Using the location data, police have now determined this was a plan Frazee developed to distance himself as a murder suspect, something Pfoff said can be common in this type of case.

“Based on this, his plan is clearly to show that she’s still alive much later than she was. That’s pretty obvious.”

Ex-girlfriend of Patrick Frazee breaks her silence and reveals accused killer played head games | Daily Mail Online
The former girlfriend of Patrick Frazee is speaking out for the first time, and revealing how the pair's dream relationship turned into a nightmare.

Vanessa Curie said she and Frazee began dating after he noticed her photo on Facebook and reached out to contact her about getting together.

She agreed, and for the next few months things were perfect, until they took a drastic turn.

We really hit it off,' explained Curie.

She was speaking from her prison cell to her mother Georgia, who had her daughter on speaker phone while sitting with Andrea Canning.

She has been in an out of jail for the past few years on charges stemming from burglary and criminal mischief to probation violation and drug-related incidents.

Curie had been out on release but then violated her probation after her arrest on those charges, which are drug related.

[...]

'Things took a turn. He started playing head games with me,' said Curie.

'He began not calling me for days and then calling me in the middle of the night telling me he had visions of me in a wedding dress.'

The two would 'talk and argue for hours,' said Curie.

She also kept a journal during her time with Frazee, which she shared with Canning.

In detailing her experience with Frazee, she at one point wrote: 'A confusing web of lies, a rollercoaster, ups and downs, building me up and slamming me down.'

Patrick Frazee, suspect in Kelsey Berreth's disappearance, called 'monster' by ex-girlfriend
"He is a monster."

[...]

"He had no empathy for life," Curie said about Frazee, in an exclusive interview with NBC's "Dateline."

Frazee’s attorneys declined to comment about Curie’s allegations as well as Berreth’s disappearance.

Curie said she and Frazee started dating in 2010.

"I was attracted to his sharp wit and he had a very explorative mind. He contemplated everything. And he was excellent at reading people," Curie told "Dateline" correspondent Andrea Canning.

But, four months into their relationship, Curie said Frazee started playing mind games on her.

“He began not calling me for days, and then calling me in the middle of the night telling me he had visions of me in a wedding dress. And we'd talk and argue for hours. And we'd end up winding right back into each other.”

The emotional abuse, as she described it, went on for a year. She said Frazee would put her on a pedestal, then tear her down. But, she said, she continued to be drawn to him.

As their relationship continued, Curie said she observed Frazee, a rancher and popular farrier, hit his dogs.

[...]

Curie and Frazee’s on-again, off-again relationship ended in 2014, when Curie said she came across the definition of a psychopath online.

“He fit the bill to a T. And that's when I left him.”
