Okay, I am following your train of thought here. I did some quick reading about cell phone signal boosters. The idea is intriguing but, if the theory is that PF is in CO, why would KF’s phone ping in Gooding?

From what I read about these boosters, they are going to reach out to the nearby towers. Or am I not understanding that part?

What she bought could be relevant however I don't think we need to know. For example, if she bought nothing but personal care items and no-doze or razor blades, that might be relevant. I don't think that's the case but just an example.

If you're referring to a cell repeater or amplifier, the range would likely not be hundreds of miles.
As for whether a farrier would have one, no idea. My jaw would drop if it was ever determined that this
was the way someone made a phone in Colorado ping off a tower in Idaho.
Another way might be to put a SIM card from one phone into a burner or unknowing person's phone.
Not sure on the details , but some carriers' phones probably still use a SIM. Take the card
out, put it another phone, all the info moves over.

Thanks. It's just stood out to me all this time. I could picture her going, excited to get a tree with him and the baby. Then either an argument happened while there, or it was a plan all along to get her alone in the woods somewhere. It would be much easier and neater for him- he could deal with her phone later and send texts and such. It's too bad there's no video of him driving and/or parking that day near a countrified wooded place. I could be way off here, but Kelsey telling her Mom about the Christmas tree just seems to stand out to me. So easy and convenient.

Due to Kelsey telling her Mum about the Christmas tree, there may have been a plan, to search for one.
Once together, PF may have driven to a secluded spot, and disposed of the body there, if he is the culprit.
The phone messages etc came later, for PF's plan to work.

Often no need for disposal of animal carcasses on ranches in the mountains. Coyotes, lions, bobcats do the job quickly and efficiently.

I can't find the video, but there is a video from inside edition where he was being interviewed and when I heard him say that, I was gobsmacked because we've all be under the assumption they were having issues, broke up that day and PF must have used that as an excuse for why KB would leave on her own accord. It would appear that even PF is saying the relationship is good, which really makes it strange he didn't keep in contact with her or think it was odd that she wasn't contacting him.

It doesn't surprise me his lawyer would make that statement and avoid mentioning a break up. I could be wrong but I think the "break up" may have been mentioned in the text message from Kelsey's phone. In which case, PF will want to claim he had no knowledge of relationship difficulties prior to that text message. If he says they broke up on Thanksgiving then all eyes are on him as a suspect and his lawyer knows that. I think PF may have given the "she broke up with me and said she was going to visit family in WA" story (and possibly sent that text message) before he got a lawyer's advice. Painting the relationship as "good" is the lawyer doing damage control now. The lawyer is also probably acutely aware of what KB's mom has said in the press and wants his statement to be in agreement with that. JMO.

You've already mentioned a cell booster previously. This would be common for someone working in an area with poor reception. This would increase the cell phone signal to extend to the closest tower(s), unless it gets switched to the next nearest tower farther away.

Correct if I'm misinterpreting. Perhaps there is are unique atmospheric conditions that would allow a cell phone to skip all intermediate cell towers and ping one in Gooding Idaho (near where PF stated Kelsey was going). Thanks in advance.

1. Do you think, if she was killed, that the perp intended to kill her or that it happened on impulse or even by accident?
2. Do you think one or more adults were present and witnessed a murder?
3. Is there any circumstance you can imagine where PF is the one who witnesses a purposeful/accidental murder, but doesn't turn the person in? Is there any chance he's protecting someone?

I think the idea that the phone was turned on briefly in Idaho makes sense...maybe not to do the two texts but to see who had been trying to reach her. Or someone else found the phone and turned it on, but then it probably would have stayed on and pinged elsewhere...

When in a rural occupation like emt or farrier, they are often out of range of cell phone towers.

To rectify, they purchase these extenders.

The extender is little more than a power boost. But, a big power boost.

Some will boost the outbound signal as much as 32X.

IF and only IF, KBs phone was turned on in a truck, equipped with an extender, on high ground, with the right weather AND a cell tower pointed in the right direction

Then a single ping could be received in Idaho.

Mathematically, it is highly unlikely that the phone could send a stream of pings at that range.

But, since a phone is sending a stream of pings, it is possible that one could be heard on a tower 600 miles away.

You could not have a conversation at 600 miles, but it is very possible one ping could travel that far.

Is PF a farrier, with a pickup truck and an extender? I do not know.
