Looks like a floor vent below the window. House probably originally did not have A/C, then they added the A/C unit above the bed to cool the upstair bedroom on warm nights or forest fires.

IIRC, the ten minutes in that article referred to the exposure time of one of the trials.... it'd be great to find a research paper with post-mortem times of less than 3 hours (although, thinking of the logistics of that, I can imagine it's pretty daunting).... If you're able to find some further research, we'd be grateful!

Comparative searches by the dogs were performed over a time period of 65 days (10 min contamination)"

Appears the jury is still out how long, exactly, a body needs to be dead for a 'death dog' to detect said death. But both articles (I reckon same study) state death but CAN be detected <3 hours (which could be 2 hours and 59 minutes cuz they didn't say <2 hours) IMO

Here’s a study with high predictive value for cadaver dog accuracy using carpet that only had a 2 minute exposure to cadaverine odor. There was no direct contact between the cadaver and the carpet.

I doubt a 110-lb. woman could inflict much bruising on PF, though.
She was pretty petite.

I don’t think that would matter. A kick or scratch will still do damage. Especially when fighting for your life. She doesn’t strike me as someone who wouldn’t fight.

He may have killed her there in the home and removed her body and disposed of it in ID as well as her cellphone. A thought came to me, more of my crazy speculation. Perhaps when they broke up she told him she was moving back to Idaho with the baby. Maybe in his sick mind that’s where he took her. JMO. Crazy speculation.

I see what you're saying, but I'm having an issue with the 'kill, remove, dispose' thing because that would mean he had the baby with him the entire time, unless he went home, dropped off the baby (with a body) then went to ID. Ahhhh we need to hear from PF's mom! Guaranteed, the next time we hear from LE, this case will be solved. They know.

So, here’s a POSSIBILITY I’m considering...if there was a struggle that led to KB’s death at her home (soon after grocery store visit)...it would be hard for him to deal with a cleanup/body move with a baby. So, he took baby home (cell phone data would show him going home when he said he did). Then he leaves baby at home with grandma and leaves cell phone home too, while he goes back to KB’s house to cover his crime.

So...if LE was going by PF’s cell phone info., maybe it made it seem his ranch was the best place to start the search. But cell phone movement can’t always paint a clear picture. MOO

But if PF (OR others) were cleaning up, surely cars, trucks would be noticed parked nearby.
Unless the person/persons parked elsewhere, and then entered property.
You would think, such a clean up, would take more than a day, so several visits.

I guess the cleaning disinfectants etc used now do not have an odour remaining.
Perhaps the trash removal to the landfill, consisted of loads of rags, cleaning material etc.
You would think, why not burn these materials beforehand.

Are those units typically associated with a heat pump? I know two people who have that type of wall mount for heat and both have a heat pump. I think they are called "ductless". I'm sure we have a WS member who is familiar with heat systems.

I think something like this is what happened.

And then the text messages to buy more time, more breathing room.

I wonder if the next step was to move one of her cars somewhere, but CB called LE before that was done.
