According to this news report from Fox 31 Denver, they located the phone in Twin Falls, ID. That statement is located near the 6 minute mark on video.

Bump, as this was supposed to be included in my post just above where I am challenging the statement that the phone was located. But it does say it clearly in the video. I questioned it, and I wish that the higher-ups in the media would bring somebody in who could do true investigative journalism as these local guys are doing it incorrectly again and again and again and spreading misinformation that gets on National media and local media.

I of course agree it has long been known she texted two people but you had mentioned she texted three people. Where is that stated?

I find myself very frustrated that the local news, who is usually the best at getting correct information, is the one who is getting it wrong again and again and perhaps National media and long-term shows are going to pick up on the incorrect information. They had incorrect theories perhaps on what the custody hearing about was right after Christmas, and then Chris Halsne stated that the phone was found in Twin Falls Idaho.

I know many people here like to get on post that do disinformation, but how do we do that when the media does it? Do we call Chris at his media number of 303-566-7594 for to question him to clarify where this information came from? I see that someone up thread did a link to Sam's tweet where he did misinformation also.

The continuing misinformation is unusual because that usually just happens at the beginning of the case, but now it seems to be gaining traction and I hate for it to be seen in loal media, and especially the "quoting it forward " to National and International media incorrectly.

Agreed. This case does seem more frustrating than usual with sloppy reporting. The media reports some things like it is fact, but then you realize they are simply taking what we have heard from the press conference and missing a nuance or drawing a conclusion that was not explicitly stated. It's not coming from "inside information" or exclusive info. I think most of it is inadvertent, but it's making things confusing and then is reported as fact in the MSM which ends up making a mess. People think they are quoting a valid source. I have hardly seen anything out there in this case that hasn't come either from the press conferences or from CB's interviews. But some things even from those have taken on a life of its own.

The location of her phone was determined from the ping on 11/25 as far as we know. There were two texts from her phone on the same day, not three. One was to PF and the other was to her employer, informing the latter that she would not be at work the following week.

If this is true, I wonder how no one picked up on it before. Reporters were digging into every aspect of PF and KB's lives...I can't believe they didn't do a docket search.

I did a Teller County civil court action search right after KB went missing and nothing came up. Perhaps custody actions are not public?

From that bolded phrase, Kelsey was not happy with her life.
To mention protection, I wonder if PF was aggressive/violent towards her (removing a person for your protection).
I think, she seems to be implying, that not living with him is a good thing (God removing a person).

My understanding is that the facts we know are:
1. Two texts were sent from Kelsey's phone on November 25.
2. Kelsey's phone pinged in Gooding, ID on November 25.

I think it could very well be possible that sending those texts on November 25 could have been what made the phone ping in Idaho. But I guess in theory, we have no idea what time those texts were sent or where the phone was located when those texts sent out. And maybe the phone was turned on later and pinged in Idaho. I would imagine that sending out texts is what pinged the phone, but I am not completely certain of that timeline or how that all works what pings. Or if the police have any info on if there was any activity on Kelsey's phone beyond that.

That was me on the Perrine bridge thinking of Kelsey the other day. I have lived in Idaho my entire life and I know how many people have died jumping off that bridge so there's always that eerie feeling but it's especially eerie while thinking of Kelsey. I did drive out through Gooding and also out to the Malad Gorge today. Sad to hear the news that she was no longer with us this morning. I was praying for a different outcome.

Did you notice any major police presence anywhere yesterday, Stillta? And did you check the Gorge? I'm just curious if anything looked out of the ordinary beyond the Christmas mayhem. I was thinking of driving out there today but if they have truly found the phone it would be pointless. I don't think they have though.

There was a video posted a few pages back where an expert explained the charge of Solicitation for murder does not necessarily mean he offered payment to someone. It could just mean he talked to someone and asked them to help him murder her or asked them to murder her for him. There doesn't have to be any money involved was my understanding of what was said.

In the press conference De Young confirmed that Berreth's phone had pinged off a tower in southern Idaho and that was where it ended up. Some people might infer this as it was ultimately discovered there. It was also noted that they were in the process of recovering it. Some people might interpret this as they still did not know where it was. Others, that they were aware of it's location and Colorado was in the process of retrieving it from Idaho.

I'm not sure...I think every state has their own rules. I just can't believe reporters weren't all over this!

I apologize that I didn't read further ahead and see that someone else had already replied. I'm not doing that this time either, though. LOL! (I'm super busy wrapping and baking ) Anyway, although it makes sense that the two texts were sent from Gooding, we haven't received any information that is the case. Just wanted to clarify that.

We don't know. It was unclear that they actually found her phone/physical device. Or just "know the location" of where it may be. It sounded the way the report was worded like they could have founded the phone, but it seems doubtful based on no other media reporting this. We haven't learned anything new of how the phone ended up in Idaho. Just from the police press conference that it was accurate information of where the phone pinged and they were hoping to recover it.

What if it was determined that illegal activity had been conducted on the property? As a random example, dog fighting....? Is that grounds to remove a child from the land/homeowner--even if the property owner wasn't formerly charged?

I can’t get over the solicitation charge. My initial thought like many here was possibly a realatives involvement, but now I’m leaning a bit differently. I believe it was reported that two persons accompanied PF to the Waste Management facility. We know LE was notified of this. I can’t help but think LE located these individuals and interviewed them at length and may have done so prior to returning to PF’s for the follow-up on the search warrant and most definitely before returning to KB’s Thursday night. Who were these two people? We know whomever they were they’re not the brightest bulbs in the box! Who goes to the dump with a suspect of ANY crime? Would a person willing to go to the dump with a suspect also be willing to dump a phone? I think either one or both of them gave LE incriminating information, because following “dump day” things really started to roll.
