Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t feel he’s that bad looking. Putting aside everything we now know, and that he is likely a killer, I wouldn’t look at his picture and say he’s ugly or anything.

I don't think the post was about his physical appearance, really. It's about what he has to offer and who he is.

Can someone update me on the hearing and where the baby is?

Currently with KB's parents, but "official" custody is still the State.

I have to say that I thought Kelsey's mother's interview w/ a CO TV station was odd.
She smiled inappropriately and made a comment about Kelsey's hair not being fixed in the grocery store
video.

WTH? Her hair?
But people can react oddly under when under incredible stress.
I think she may have said that because Kelsey had told her she may have plans to go out to dinner, and in the video of her that day her hair wasn't styled as if she were going anywhere. Imo

Yes. It's "custody". You don't intervene in these cases for visitation really. I haven't seen it work that way. You ask that the child be placed with you.

I put custody in quotes because the state has custody in juvenile dependency cases, while the child is "placed" with someone or another.

Seems the paternal grandmother knows she can't have temporary placement at this time. I don't know if that's due to health, a recommendation by social services or for another reason. But she wants to try at some point.

Can someone update me on the hearing and where the baby is?

I've been busy with family and work.

Thank for answering one of my questions I posted earlier. Custody and visitation are two different issues and this was a temp custody hearing.

Another hearing has been scheduled for Jan. 3rd with temporary custody being extended to CB until that time.

Here is summary: On December 21, 2018 the court granted a Temporary Emergency Custody Order made by Teller County Department of Human Services (TCDHS) placing the minor child in the temporary physical custody of maternal grandparents and legal custody of TCDHS. As required by law a Preliminary Protective Proceeding was held on 12/27/18. TCDHS caseworkers were present with Special County Attorney Steve Zentz. The court appointed attorney Lindsey Parlin to represent father and a guardian ad litem was appointed to represent the best interests of the minor child. TCDHS, father and guardian ad litem requested the hearing be closed to the public. The court made finding under CRS 19-1-106 that it was in child’s best interest to close hearing. The maternal grandparents were added to the case as special respondents. Paternal grandmother file a motion to intervene. The parties agreed to reserve for later hearing paternal grandmother’s motion to intervene and placement request. The court continued the temporary custody of the minor child with maternal grandparents. The case is continued for a pre-trial conference on January 3, 2019 at 8:30 a.m.

One thing I’ve never seen, unless I missed it, is what KB’s typical work schedule was. A lot of us have assumed a Monday through Friday 8-5 type of situation but she could have worked 4 10 hour shifts, worked other days, every other day, etc. we’ve just taken for granted the “fact” from MSM that PF had baby K all of the time. The baby may actually have spent quite a lot of time in KB’s care depending upon what her actual work schedule was. Thinking about it seems odd to me that with KB’s profession that it would only take place during typical “office” hours as I would call them.

Based on what I've read about this case, PF seems to be an "alpha male" narcissist type. If he did murder KB, it was a "fresh start" motive, like Chris Watts (a passive covert narc). He didn't want to be on the hook for child support/visitation, or obligated to do anything for KB in any shape, form or fashion. Guys like this resent paying anything to the ex/mom. Why should he have to pay her anything when he's "done" with her? With KB out of the picture, he doesn't have to pay her child support, grandma helps raise his daughter and he can find a new girlfriend. It's all about control. JMO

Quoting @thesaint : "I wish that Tomnod would have sleuths volunteer to go thru the satellite images
of the hwy."
Yess!!! I'm in. I'd love to volunteer. Good for you for your volunteer work. I would love to help.

Can anyone say when we might get information from LE about the evidence, the crime, the facts? Would that be Monday?

I have a feeling we might hear more today before his Monday appearance. Fingers crossed.

I’m hoping for early am arrest warrants to be served IMO

CONTROL. Absolutely.
Listen to him address his dogs. Control is everything to this guy.

I wonder about his 3 brothers. Do they live in the area? Was/is PF competitive with them? Perhaps PF's mom always wanted to have a girl. It could be that Kaylee is the only female grandchild, so Patrick topped his brothers in that regard.

The solicitation charge reminds me of Atlanta attorney, Fred Tokars, who rode around town in a limo with prostitutes, hitting the bars asking multiple people if they would kill his wife. A friend of his partner in selling drugs took the offer and killed the wife in front of her kids. Fred was convicted.

So in the tiny town where PF lived, who would he ask to kill Kelsey? If he asked in the 2 bars, everyone would know it.
It have to have been someone he has known for a very long time, a relative or a shady person he met on the rodeo circuit or one who delivered feed or transported his cattle or horses.

The obvious reason why the Frazee ranch was small with no stock is that they didn't have the money to feed the animals.

Just wondering if LE might be leaving him alone, not trying to talk to him.

If they have people who are talking, maybe they can get the info from them and not need to talk to PF anymore.

Would it not be more terrifying for PF if LE were leaving him alone? If he was getting no information at all?

I definitely agree with you; but I wonder if PF communicates with his public defender?

Thinking of the Teresa Sievers case where her parents had to move down from Connecticut and stay in Florida for quite a period of time to get custody. It was months and months later that they finally got the court to give them permanent custody and they were allowed to move back to Connecticut. I wonder if requirement of the custody is that the child stay in the same state or area?

I can't imagine staying in that house, but the expense of renting another place to stay while they are there would be significant.

It would be nice if a local offered the B’s a place to stay or rented a house or apt to them for a really low price.

I don't know how many helicopters or drones that the CO Highway Patrol has available
but following the hwy north would seem to be very helpful. There are so many
people who own drones now, I wish they would volunteer --- kind of like Adopt-a-Highway, where you commit to searching a stretch of hwy shoulder w/ your drone.

I don't know if Tomnod covers crimes. Besides the disappearance of MH 370, I volunteered
after a big earthquake in Asia where people were trapped and rescuers needed to know
what buildings, bridges, etc. were still standing and roads still open, so they could direct the rescuers how to best reach the victims.

Drone footage would be much easier to examine rather than a satellite image.

Yes.... and did you hear the reporter say that the father (assuming they meant PF ) took care of the baby during the day when KB was at work? If so, there is no way PF didn’t find it strange he hadn’t heard from KB for days and reported her missing. How does he think he will ever explain that...

I don’t think he will explain that because I don’t think he will talk.

I’ll bet they have an outpouring of help from the Colorado community. This is a big story and so tragic- I can’t imagine people there aren’t helping in any way they can. And the family has a gofund me account to help support also.

Thank you, Gitana1.

The baby has been with KB's parents since CF was arrested, although DHS has maintained legal custody. After PF's mother filed a motion to intervene, the case was continued for a pre-trial conference on Jan. 3 and the baby will remain with the Berreth's at least until that time.
