Debating going to the courthouse. It's so cold out!!!!! (-8)

To be honest, it is his mom´s property, so it has to be her decision. His siblings are adults with established careers, whether to help PF or not is up to mom.

Well, I think siblings might have a say. If there’s a trust & the property is designated to pass to their generation, they could potentially have some input. Jmo.

Regarding pro bono lawyers vs. court-appointed lawyers:

Court-appointed lawyers, in my experience, are paid for by the State, hence the taxpayers. (I usually think of pro bono meaning a lawyer is offering his services for free.) Only indigent defendants qualify for them. If an individual can afford to pay for an attorney, he must hire his own.
This tells me that PF has no assets. His family’s assets would not be considered in this situation.

Defendants cannot choose a particular court-appointed lawyer. In some places, those lawyers are paid by the hour, a lower fee, and in other places (when there are public defender’s offices), they are paid a fixed salary.

Just sayin’

My "hunch" was that there was someone else. Many have postulated that Kelsey may have "moved on" but PF's history and his behaviour told me he had a "dish" and most likely in Idaho. JMO. To me that would have explained those stupid texts meant to buy him time with CB and to somehow give him an alibi or bolster his "story" about KB going to visit her grandmother. So, either he was travelling to Twin Falls Idaho to visit his "friend" with KB's phone, or she had visited him and was returning to Twin Falls, Idaho with the phone. MOO
I wouldn't doubt that he had lots of "dishes." If he cheated on his girlfriend while she was sick in the hospital, dating more than one woman at a time would not be a moral issue for him. There is no telling how many cowgirls he may have hooked up with while at his "rodeos." I don't think that was his motive, however, although he may have asked her for some help in carrying out the crime. Imo

You’re right. I posted pre-coffee. I stand corrected.
Idk if PF has assets. He could keep only cash. Wouldn’t be the first time a man hid assets from a baby mom.

I thought Otto’s question was “can one change from court appointed to private practice, down the road”, in CO. I’m sorry for the confusion.

Idk, never thought of this. I wonder if the ultimate decision is made by the attorney, some more aggressive, preferring a trial. Thinking Mark Geragos.......and OJ dream team. Those guys seem made for TV, IMO.

The ultimate decision whether to go to trial or not is the defendant’s decision, not his attorneys. Although, the lawyer’s job is to advise and most defendants respect that; some don’t.

We are live in Cripple Creek this morning ahead of Patrick Frazee’s first court appearance. Stick with @KOAA for updates throughout the morning #PatrickFrazee #KelseyBerreth

This is an arraignment hearing. The court will read Frazee’s charges aloud to him & likely decide on a number of motions, including limiting pre-trial publicity. Frazee could also enter a plea. No word yet if he will do so. #PatrickFrazee #KelseyBerreth @KOAA

im terribly sorry about your son susi
that's just dreadful.... you and he already going through so much ,any unnecessary drama is such a kick in the guts.
love is blind as they say!
Thank you @k-mac. We miss him dearly. He was a genuine soul as I believe KB was also. Just naive to the evil that lurks behind the mask.

Well yeah. The attorney is the expert. I can still see a high profile atty preferring a trial over a plea, especially if the trial is televised. Of course there’s not going to be a plea if PF refuses to speak.

Interesting.

If PF did have another person on the side and if that person was living in Idaho, could PF have been another Scott Peterson and either never even told this other person about KB or twisted the truth about how much involved KB was still in his life regarding the child?

His sick motive could become a little clearer now.
If this is all true, it may be a while before we know the exact nature of the relationship and what he did or didn't tell her. Narcs are notorious liars. They'll tell bold faced lies and put spin on the truth.

How long can the prosecution wait from the arrest to the arraignment? In a December 21 news report, it stated that the arraignment would be within 10 days (today deadline.) Someone want to clear this up? Even Sam Kraemer is calling this an arraignment. It looks as if PK will be there.

How Courts Work

I think this is a great flow chart to understand the steps of the system.
