If he claims they had an 'emotional' discussion before she left I am going to pass out.

Where Kelsey is, is directly related to the circumstances of her disappearance.

There are two reasonable options here:

She left on her own

She was kidnapped and is almost certainly deceased

If the latter occurred, it’s pretty clear who is most likely involved

That press conference made it absolutely clear that authorities are interested in him.

They increased suspicion of him, rather than alleviate it.

The chief was asked directly if they had executed a search warrant of his property.

He responded with “that’s something we’re going to look into.”

That’s a no.

My point was just that the police have not said that he refused to allow them to search the property.

And I was under the impression that we shouldn't be sleuthing anyone who was not named as a suspect or person of interest. This hasn't happened but PF is having his info shared here anyways

PF could have visited a lawyer to draw up emergency custody papers for their daughter. I haven't heard who had full custody, if either, at the time. Wouldn't this be needed in case of an emergency for their daughter?
Welcome to Websleuths, sandlapper. :)

PF's attorney is, for the most part, a criminal attorney. The attorney issued a statement today on PF's behalf. At this point, it doesn't appear that the PF's legal representation involves child custody issues.

Read the statement here:

How did he only get an hour’s notice if we knew about it the day before?

Does the Zillow search result show his home is a rock, and that he lives under it?
I'm pretty sure the time was announced earlier than an hour before because I had an Alexa reminder set. I just don't have time to find it.

Either way though, if he was truly interested in attending he would have picked up the phone and found out. MOO

This guy hasn’t said a word to the media and has now lawyered up.

You’re right, we don’t have confirmation that he was asked to allow the police to search his property.

I can’t imagine they haven’t asked though, and the fact that they have not searched his property means that he told them no.

It would follow his pattern of behavior thus far.

Is PF considered "family" under TOS? he is not married to KB, they are not living together.

Especially since I have read they searched her property and vehicles. Where the exchange took place of the baby that day would seem to me the next most logical place to search. And he has to "look into it" - that means no voluntary search and they have to get warrants IMO.

I doubt it, but LE could be going in another direction that we aren't aware of.

PF's information is shared here as it appears in approved news links and our discussion of those items.

If a poster disagrees with the discussion, perhaps they can contact a mod for further instruction. :)

Exactly. We’re not making wild assumptions here.

It’s also reasonable to suspect that LE doesn’t have enough to get a search warrant at this point.

It doesn’t jibe with that press conference though.

If they didn’t suspect him they wouldn’t have turned up the heat on him.

That was intentional.

KB's dad quoted by Today show citing Mom Cheryl has not been able to see child as of Tuesday. Also, PF seen taking daughter to lawyers office (rather than leave child with her grandmother Cheryl who reportedly traveled to Colorado).

If I were a father of a child and the mother had up and disappeared and I don't know if she's dead or abducted or just hiding, I'm not going to let the child out of my sight. For all he knows, KB could show up at any minute, grab the child, and run.

I doubt Kelsey and PF had a firm custody agreement or a legally binding one. They were engaged, according to her family. And their daughter is too young for school so they can still do whatever is best for their schedules.

I read here that PF had her during the week while Kelsey worked. So it seems that his house is her primary home.

Regarding lawyering up "right away," he didn't. She was reported missing 9 days before he was seen with a lawyer.

We also have no idea if his property was searched or if they've even asked to search it. So it's inaccurate to say that cooperating doesn't include allowing that.

Also there is clearly a lot of sleuthing of someone who is not a suspect or POI. We know who owns his home, his job, his potential salary and what social media has to say about his character. Plus discussion has turned into how he did it rather than where Kelsey is. This thread needs major clean up. We all know the TOS, this isn't supposed to be a gossip site

BBM. The media saw PF leaving an attorney's office yesterday but we have no idea when the attorney was retained. JMO

I think that scenario would be rare for sure. But, also, to be fair, I've never seen a Websleuths case where forum users didn't think the fiance/spouse/partner seemed suspicious no matter what they do. Sometimes people think they are over involved and talk too much, but the opposite is true too...sometimes people think they don't show the appropriate amount of emotion or involvement. In both extremes, I've seen the guy turn up guilty...as well as the guy turn up innocent.

People don't all react to tragic news the same way, so it's hard to tell.

I find it suspicious he didn't contact the police, for example, but I can think of rational circumstances that might explain that. Some hypothetical possibilities...he knew she took a trip, they were broken up, she told him to leave her alone, she had a history of extreme behavior recently...again, hypothetical...for purposes of discussion.

Do we know what kind of attorney options are available in Woodland Park and Floirassant? Is it possible the attorney that made a statement for PF is one of the only options available to him? Or the only option avaliable at that time? Or could PF and this attorney already know each other personally or professionally and this particular attorney is helping him out?

Exactly - there's no way I would let my child out of my site.
