In the Carly "Charli" Scott case, investigators found her jawbone and bits of her fingertips - no body. They then told her family that they'd found a part of her that she could not live without. That's all we knew for months until they arrested Steven Capobianco for her murder. The body parts that were found were sufficient to prove that Charli was dead, and did not die of natural causes. Shortly before PF's arrest, someone posted that the family had gone quiet on the official FB page, and I got the feeling that something similar had happened in this case. There were two very thorough searches - one of PF's family property and one of KB's townhouse - and also some activity at the dump. LE knows something. MOO

Exactly. Cellular tissue can also tell you if the cells are consistent will cell death or life and type of cell from which organ. If you are a body functioning with or without your cells it tells us something. You can match that body to that tissue to that function or dysfunction. Who needs a body? A mother does but not a DA.

why wouldn't they file a civil case now? I am unaware of any reasons to wait. Seems like this will support their custody case, particularly if monetary damages are such that PF's family have to contribute financially, reducing their financial ability to support baby K. More power to the Berreth's.
I agree not sure what the question is?

PF also had a 10 window to make it all look normal. I think when the family did their check, they didn't suspect anything. I asked if a real search with dogs, etc. was conducted during this time, but I'm not sure if anyone knows for sure.
There has been no report of neighbor's seeing PF at her house during those 10 days- I am sure they interviewed all of them for that information, which is sealed. I wonder if they saw him there during those 10 days? That would be interesting to know.

What I don't understand is IF KK is talking and working out a plea deal- why isn't she already arrested? How long can that take? They served warrants in Twin Falls Dec 15th. Something glitchy here.

Maybe she got an immunity deal. Maybe she had nothing to do with the murder. But she was there visiting him, and he killed KB, then threatened KK, telling her she needed to help him by taking the phone and texting, otherwise he would ____________.[whatever threats he maybe used]

Maybe she witnessed enough incriminating evidence that her testimony will get them a Guilty verdict. So they are giving her immunity and protective custody, because of his threats.

could this be wording under Colorado domestic violence laws? as an intimate partner PF had a duty to not engage in intimate partner violence. There are DV enhancers in Colorado for criminal charges - maybe this is a way to enhance the civil case.

Generally when we speak of a class to which a victim belongs, and that class being protected by said law, we are speaking in terms of negligence per se; this is legal speak for the negligence being presumed and not needing to be further proved. IIRC, the civil suit seems to have negligence per se as a claim the Berreths are making?

You guys, it's pretty much guaranteed from a legal standpoint that there is no way PF is benefiting financially from this at all.

Tysm for this, Rio.
How unusual would it be to delay the arrest of a cooperating suspect? A person that poses no menace to anyone else? Tysm

Was it reported that he spent nights at her place after Thanksgiving but before she was reported missing I wonder if that's when he did clean up
Nothing has been reported that PF was at Kelsey's home after November 22nd when he picked up their daughter.

one of the MSM articles stated she helped get rid of the body.

Berreth’s parents file wrongful death suit against fiancé

The wrongful death suit makes me think of succinylcholine that immobilizes an animal or person to a point where they know everything that’s going on but can’t react, respond or move to protect themselves in any way. If he had access to veterinary drugs or sources that could supply him with such....then I’m completely shattered for KBs family. Utterly.

Yes, he could have had access to something like that as a farrier and horse owner and someone who would know vets. There is no proof that he did, but this was brought up several threads back. Some WS posters were adamant that he as a farrier it would be illegal for him to administer such drugs to horses, but I don't think that would stop him.

I agree not sure what the question is?

As one of the verified attorneys asked, how can you bring a civil suit for murder, if the victim has not yet been declared dead. I think that might be one issue here.

it could definitely cramp his style and that of his family.

No, I definitely don’t think they care about financial gain- just wondered if it was a way to prevent PF from gathering the funds to hire private counsel.

I think the fact that her mom pointed it out as odd indicated that maybe KB had already been assaulted and escaped to Safeway. If/how/why she went home willingly is unknown, and resulted in her death. Why she didn't ask for help while at Safeway if she was in danger is a mystery, and sad.
...what? She does not appear to be injured in the SW footage, imo.

In my opinion, if the police find evidence of blood (or evidence blood was cleaned), they would take photos and swabs for DNA processing. (They would not take chunks of wall board). If there is evidence of a bullet hole, they would probably take a slab of wall board, not because they need to, but it would be a powerful piece to sway a jury. Maybe they saw a bullet hole and would have to take the piece of wall board/or other boards to recover a bullet. No mention if PK had any guns/silencers.
I believe that crime scene investigators in Raleigh, NC for the Michelle Young murder case took pieces of wall board from the master bedroom where she was bludgeoned to death by her husband as well as near the front door where LE thought the fight broke originated.

I think it's quite common in crime investisgations.
imo

I wonder if they are trying to get him to talk? His lawyer can certainly notify him if she was arrested or not.. if he thinks she's talking or is under question and she hasn't been arrested, maybe he'll be tempted to talk or turn on her thinking she is turning on him?

Yes, I do agree someone provided info “the walls were washed with bleach, then polished with Orange Glo” or something very specific. Moo. I don’t think LE cut drywall or furniture at random.

If a lot of clean up was performed, is it possible someone parked elsewhere, another day, & walked in?
Or maybe someone who was short and blond, female and about KB’S age was driving one of KB’s cars around or staying at her house for a couple of days while the clean up/repair/replace/repaint was happening? MOO Speculate Speculate MOO

I absolutely believe he killed her with the child present.

Some random things I keep thinking over:

1. if she was in a rush to get to the store and wasn't "put together" like usual, then what could have made her so rushed? What did she need to run out quick and grab on Thanksgiving morning? Was that part of this whole thing?

I tend to think no because why would he let her bring the baby with her if this was part of the plan.. seems he'd not put her in any risk WITH their child in tow. What could she "need".. maybe milk for the child or ?

2. the cinnamon rolls.. several thoughts there.

If she made them and left them and then was murdered and they took all the time to clean up very very well then why leave the cinnamon rolls... overlooked it? Doesn't seem like someone would go off to visit family and leave those on the counter? So it sorta sends up a red flag.. why not throw them out too while cleaning up after the murder?

or what if they baked them and for whatever reason wanted people to think she left them out? But, why?

3. just in general what types of things could they not find in the house on the first look that they later would find that would lead them to believe she was dead. Of course things like blood or signs of a struggle, but what else?

4. the baby.. I just can't see that he did this with his child there.. I guess I can't see doing this at all, but he does seem to at least care for her.. so if this was an ambush or something after KB left the store, then she had the baby with her. :( Was she in the house or did someone take her.. was she already gone.. did they do the handoff of the baby and then KB went to her house and was ambushed?

So many questions!

she wouldn't have to be injured. But she could have been in distress.

...what? She does not appear to be injured in the SW footage, imo.

If a person walked in, it’d be easier to remain unseen, imo.
Peek out the window before leaving and haul butt!
