Her name was similar, Kasiee maybe?

ETA: Kelsie Schelling

ETA again: I’m slow tonight. Sorry.

No problem! I just remember a blonde woman possibly in her late 20's maybe early 30's that went missing. She wasn't getting any press really and I think it was due to her being associated with some possible trouble types.

Just to be clear on distances, since there seems to be some confusion.

Body found near Aguilar, CO
Woodland Park, CO to Aguilar, CO = 127 miles (quickest route)
Pueblo (Doss Aviation/place of employment) to Aguilar, CO = 66 miles
(since some have mentioned it) New Mexico border to Aguilar, CO = less than 40 miles

And we may find out tomorrow it's not even her and it's a moot point.

It’s definitely a profound experience. My dad and I have never been close but he’s just been admitted to inpatient hospice and it’s got my emotions all over the map.

Not homicidal though...

Crap, @LAHOLLA my speed reading tonight is totally BAD. I apologize. I thought I read that your Dad had passed.

At any rate, I am very sorry to hear this.

Sending you a big, cyber {{{HUG}}}.

Patrick Frazee hearing delayed to Feb. 19; prosecutors in Kelsey Berreth case release documents
On Friday, prosecuting attorneys Jennifer Viehman and Beth Reed agreed to release the all case-related documents, photographs and videosincluding the search warrant, police reports and the affidavit — to be viewed by Frazee as well as his attorney and staff.

Frazee, who lives in Florissant on a 35-acre ranch, had several friends in the court room that day. “I’ve known Patrick for 20 years,” said Gilda Dellinger, formerly of Divide. “He’s always been so kind and helpful.”

When Dellinger moved to Colorado Springs, Frazee helped shuttle her horse to the new home. “And he noticed that my storm door was broken and he fixed it for me,” she said. “I would never have believed this about him.”

Hmmm... known Patrick for 20 years... The same length of time PF has reportedly lived alone with his mom at the ranch. I'm not sleuthing GD, but I'm noticing a curious coincidence in the approximate age range of most of the women coming out to paint PF as a person who could never harm anyone. JMO.

This body seems to be way down nearer Co/Nm border isn’t it? I remember passing by Trinidad not long after getting into Colorado.

Also, oddly for all my posting, I have no theories about the “how” of this murder went down at all. Just the “why” which I am convinced was an effort to get sole custody of the baby. Nothing else makes sense, as couples split all the time, and figure things out. He must have felt or knew that she was thinking of moving nearer her family or to another job, i.e or even that she might eventually get married and he would “lose” his child. Otherwise...just break up.

Jmo
You remember correctly! MN border is only about 20 miles from Trinidad.

So I have been rethinking what could have gone on in KBs home. LE has stated she is deceased. Ok, well what are the ways they would determine that without a body...
1. Text messages stating that r emails or some kind of communication
2. Blood everywhere and in places it should never normally be ( or luminal however you spell it)
3. Some bloody tool with her DNA on it
4. Some kind of tissue that is significant in amount or of a type that is normally internal

Anything else? Thoughts? What am I missing
Just trying to figure how they have officially determined she has been killed.
oh wait...
5. Someone told on him?

Quite a number of cases have been tried and won, without the victim’s body being located. In most cases that have been charged, there was either a crime scene or a confession. There is a website if you google “no body” cases that goes back decades, all sorts of cases.

Yes. The question referenced was specific to Colorado missing persons.

Although she did say, "I would never have believed this about him," which sounds like she actually does believe he could have done "this." Imo

Human remains found near abandoned truck stop in Colorado
The remains were found about 20 miles north of Trinidad close to the town of Aguilar. They were discovered by residents walking in the area.

Members of the Colorado Bureau of Investigation Crime Scene Response team processed the area. The coroner is working to identify the remains and determine the cause of death.

At this time it is unclear if it's connected to the Kelsey Berreth case.

More details are expected to be released Tuesday afternoon.

I believe this is the truck stop in question: AMATO Food and Fuel. It's at the intersection of 25B and CO-60 just NNE of Aguilar. From what I can find, it appears it went out of business in 2012. I guess tomorrow will tell...

Google Maps

ETA: The Google Map image is dated 2012 but does show some people/activity. Trucker discussions also dated 2012 indicate it was essentially out of business by the end of the year.

From the Colorado Cold Case files:

Gloria Berreth
went missing from Colorado Springs Oct 4, 1994. A series of events in 1994 led Colorado Springs police to call Michael Ervin Berreth a person of interest in the disappearance of his ex-wife. (No know relation to KB).

Whoa, large plastic tub? That answers my question as to whether or not the person they found died of foul play.

The significance of Kelsie Schelling --who went missing in Colorado in 2013 while pregnant, is that her body has never been recovered, and the accused, Donte Lucas, is going to trial this year.

It was asked earlier whether or not PF could go to trial if KB's body is never located.
Also interesting is that Kelsie's mom has been following this case. She is heartbroken for the Berreth family and has considered reaching out to them.
Donthe Lucas trial possibly delayed

Good observation, Gardener. :)

I just looked at a map. Am I accurate that Aguilar is about two hours from PF's house?

THE FOLLOWING IS ALL IN MY OPINION ONLY *****

The thing is, it's confusing --- PF wanted people to believe that KB had taken off and gone north. But... he also wanted it to look like a robbery gone bad and she was killed in her home. You can't have it both ways. It doesn't make sense.

RSBM
IMO **** MOO

I have a theory on the robbery thing-- I think it was always PF's plan to get rid of KB's body after murdering her. However, he needed help to make it look like she had run off to Washington to visit family. Perhaps he lied to whomever he gave the phone to (possibly KK?) and said that he and KB fought when he went to pick up their daughter and as a result she died "by accident" and he ended up with KB's phone/some other belongings of hers. Perhaps that is the story he made up in order to convince someone to help him. Perhaps the person who helped dispose of the phone is now talking to police and telling the story PF told about taking something from KB as she died. Technically, if they fought and he grabbed the phone (or anything else) from her hands as he killed her that could be felony murder during a robbery. I could be wrong but I think the charge doesn't necessarily mean that PF planned to make the murder look like a robbery. It could simply mean some evidence or a witness is saying PF was trying to take something from KB when she was murdered and that he then removed whatever it was from the scene. MOO.
