I always doubted they were looking for a body with that dig on the ranchette. I just don't think using a back hoe is the way they look for a body. It must have been something else. Ashes, acid? Does the house have a grey water line? Not legal in most parts but people still have them to avoid having septic pumped out too often. JMT. That huge hole in the ground baffles me as to what they hoped to find.

I’m puzzled by this as well, you would think if there were trying to unearth evidence they would’ve taken great care in excavating the area and that’s a mighty large hole!

I was looking to see what the largest nearby city that was covering the story in CO. I guess that would be KOAA in Colorado Springs? Is this considered MSM? Today's story:

=========================================
Look, this gives me the creeps. But I think there's blood evidence and lots of it. I think he and someone else killed her and ex-sanguinated her in her own bathrtub, or did as much as possible. And flushed some of the remains as well. That could take a long time, and then they did a pretty good clean up, too, by the sounds of it, including new drywall and paint etc. But something PF disposed of at the dump with his friends, whether the sawzall or something else, sent LE right back to KB's house and they partially dismantled parts of the interior. Found all the blood. At the same time they learned who PF had been calling and texting when he turned over his phone and tracked down KK. IMO I still think they'd have more remains to dispose of, but could be anywhere. I hope they're grilling the two guys who helped him at the dump.

JMO
You could be about right.

I keep thinking back to when they dug up his yard. I wonder if they went after the plumbing pipes that led to his septic tank. Maybe they found evidence in his septic tank or the plumbing joints like elbow joints of things he flushed when he got home. Elbow joints in plumbing have threads and nooks and crannies where material can collect and not go all the way through the drain.

In another different case I believe a plumber helped LE when he was working on some plumbing because of a clog and eventually LE found evidence of blood and human tissue in the drain pipes and they dismantled a lot of the sink drain and plumbing to get it. I think it was this Canada case.

It says "body parts" but taking that with a grain of salt.
I can't remember which one of Kelsey's family members asked Truckers to keep an eye out for her. This case moves so fast, with a lot twist, and turns. It's hard to keep up.
It's horrific either way. If is her, or if it's someone else.

Yes, as KRDO has been reporting not too accurate news on the case lately :/

Could human remains found near an abandoned truck stop in Colorado be Kelsey Berreth? | Daily Mail Online

Likely DM clickbait but this came up during my search if the coroner identified the body.

Wow. I know DM's reputation but there are quite a few details in those updates.

"near the town of Aguilar"

"CBI Crime Scene Response team began to process the area north of Trinidad"

A civil lawsuit does require answering questions and was used in the Cooper and Young cases before either man was even arrested. It is a way for LE to exploit the right to silence. Cooper answered and Young did not but they both lost custody.

Jason Young was sued for wrongful death by Michelle's mother.

No. It most certainly does not. At least not questions that can lead to self incrimination. Again, the fifth amendment to the US Consitution prevents people from being forced to testify in any matter if their testimony may incriminate them criminally. That's the law.

It was Kelseys Aunt. She posted about it here. She has three truckers in her family. This was when she first went missing, and she said they are the best people to get the word out. But of course this was before she was presumed dead.

The driving distance from Woodland Park to where those remains were found is approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes, correct? That's quite a distance for this mama's boy.

In response to GHgal post re: KK's name. Don't know why her post didn't get quoted here ...
Yes, this was posted several days ago. Though her full name is all over MSM, we are not allowed to use it here on WS per Tricia.

Just for reference, here is the post by Kelsey's Aunt:

My husband, son and several other family members are truckers, and I know that there is no other network that can get out there and have eyes everywhere. They were the first place I turned to get the word out.

I think it was after being told that Kelsey was en route to WA to visit her grandmother...

Just when you think you have seen/heard the worst of the worst, I just got a news push on my phone regarding the following link.

I know this is OT on this thread/case, but I couldn't find a thread regarding Cadence McWilliams who was only reported missing in Dec. If any of you know where I could find that thread I'd appreciate it. If not, a new thread can be set up, please feel free..... I'd like to follow this...... maybe the Mom will meet CW in prison (sorry, couldn't resist being snarky)

TIA

I've always thought maybe a septic tank? Does anyone know if they hauled anything away after digging?

Correct. Maybe he was driving in a blind panic pumped with adrenaline?
