On that same train of thought...she was the bff. You know your bff pretty well. We’ve probably all had that “oooo I wanna kill that guy!” conversation with our confidants at some point. That likely wouldn’t have been surprising or upsetting. But KK went to her bff and told her PF asked her TO KILL KB. That’s a whooole nother ball of wax. And it’s something that hopefully would upset you and raise some flags.

Ok was that quoted that KK said exactly those words to the BFF? I must have missed that.

There is so many different things being relayed on here it is hard to keep track.

@otto -- respectfully, you are getting it wrong. Go back and watch last night's interview or read last night's posts for details and context.

The Rs did not get involved due to social media fluff. They got involved when they were told of things related to the case, well *before* the murder.

They called the FBI once they realized what their information related to.

The social media harrassment (of their direct employee, not of KK) was why they decided to do the interview now. But the interview is not the substance of their involvement.

The R's said they are telling their story now after their employee faced harassment on social media due to misinformation circling around.

We don't know what was said specifically. By the time you get to the R's you are hearing about it as 3rd hand information.

I was going through a rocky point in my (almost 30 year) marriage about 12 years ago.
I was really upset and told a male friend of mine about some "stuff" that I now know I should not have. I'd met him about 10 years earlier, he looked at me DEAD serious and asked if I wanted my husband killed?!!!
I was like WHAT??
ARE YOU NUTS?
NO! NEVER!!!!

& I ended THAT friendship forever.
Some people are very scary once you really get to know them.

There are several posts similar to the one above and may I say . . .

Wow. Just . . . wow. All this accusation and indignation for innocent people caught in a web NOT of their making.

The only people who knew this was a murder plot prior to Kelsey being murdered was PF, and maybe KK and the other solicitees, if there are others.

To expect people who are getting a story third-or fourth-hand to report a threat, especially when they don't even know the details--who, what, when, where--is ludicrous. IMO.

Hindsight is the only reason why we all know there was a murder plot in the works last fall. We now have the knowledge that something nefarious was being planned, and carried out, by PF, and these folks came to that knowledge about the same time the rest of the world did. And when they recognized they actually knew something, they reported it to the proper authorities.

As always, IMO.
Our opinions are just different, neither is black or white. For me, if I was Mrs. R, I would go to my employee and question her more about KK. I would ask if she contacted LE or asked KK to do so. If she refused, I would do it myself. This isn’t about keeping a confidence from a bff. This was some nut planning and soliciting a murder. It would keep me up at night. Right there is where I would be indignant. And if that sounds ludicrous, so be it. I’m not really trying to judge the R’s but this is a murder case and folks have the right to feel that those who were forewarned did nothing to help so why come forward now and appear all righteous? Does it bring KB back to her baby girl?

Nothing has been quoted, but if you listen to the interview the employers gave, you will hear them explain what was said.

True, but sad they didn't get involved before CB's plea for her beloved daughter, like maybe in October? They felt it necessary now to get involved publicly in defence of their employee who is defending KK on SM? Strange. IMO

Perhaps KK is telling everything to LE including that she told the BFF about the plot - and the BFF told her she told her employers and then KK told her not to worry about it - so now anyone who knew before the murder is getting their story out first so it can be told in a positive light? Otherwise, I see absolutely no reason for them to have conducted this interview - it does not help the case IMO. so Why now?

Anyone else got the feeling that KK is gonna get off with a LE negotiated probated sentence, in exchange for her testimony against PF ?...moo

I hope she doesn't get off with just that if the evidence proves she was involved (as I feel she heavily was). If she does get off with just probation, I hope the Idaho Board of Nursing revokes her license and bars her from future reinstatement. JMO but I can't see how anyone would want a such a nurse (if proven guilty).

Sorry, the R's are a dollar short and a few months too late.
They're just selfishly trying to clear their company name
and defend themselves and their employee. Don't buy it
myself. Nope, nada, too late.

I agree with you, actually, about their decision to now be interviewed. But until I learn otherwise, I'm going to assume (and they said as much in the interview, if I recall) that they didn't go to LE initially because they knew with confidence that their information was not specific enough for LE to respond at that time.

From R's interview: "If we could've just gotten the police to call or drive by and say 'Are you thinking of killing someone?' that would've stopped it," said Joe Rockstahl. "We wouldn't be here. We wouldn't have all of this going on."

"KMVT asked Patty if she considers herself a hero. She said "no." She more considers herself a whistleblower and hopes anyone else with information to this case, or other crimes, has the courage like she did to come forward."

- um, you could have gotten the police to call or drive by IF you would have called them in October when you first learned of the solicitation for murder. And, I agree...you are NOT a hero, because a hero WOULD have called police in October, and Kelsey might still be alive. I just can't even fathom not attempting to notify the police. The Rs may not have know PF's last name, but their employee had all the info LE needed. All three of them had a responsibility to Kelsey to report this immediately.

No way IMHO, I believe KK is in it up to her eyeballs. I think there will be much more information coming out by legitimate sources (other than rumor on FB) once the arrest affidavit is released. Again, JMO

That's how I am looking at it.

I'm so glad to see this couple came forward. It shows that KK blabbed then her BFF blabbed, too.
ETA: Now we know who talked and how the solicitation charges came about.

And it appears it was not KK...IMO

Her bff should have gone to police. If it bothered her enough to be visibly upset, then she knew it had a real possibility of happening

JMO
Right and even if LE did nothing more than question KK or eventually PF then IMO that would have been enough to prevent the murder because both KK and PF then would have been scared out of carrying through with the plot.

If it bothered her enough to go to her employer then it was serious.

I'm having flashback visions of the movie "The Butterfly Effect".

My thoughts exactly. To little, much too late and merely damage control. Trying to put themselves in a good light in light of the fore knowledge. Not working for me either!

....

When asked what made Patty come forward and call the FBI, she said it was when she connected the dots of who was involved and watching Kelsey’s mother Cheryl plea for help on national television.

“I think the mother that had the courage and go on TV when her daughter was missing, saying that someone knew where she was at,” Patty told KMVT. “At that point in my mind I thought that Patrick, and that was the only name I had heard him called, I didn't know his last name, had done something to her daughter and he knew where she was at.”

Twin Falls couple talks about providing a tip to the FBI on the Kelsey Berreth case

The Rockstahls decided to come forward to KMVT News after their employee endured harassment and threats on social media.

They tell KMVT, the FBI was already in Twin Falls and at their office quickly after making the call.
....

IIRC CB made public plea dec 10.

True, but had they taken it a little more seriously and followed up with bff regarding her initial disclosure, they would appear more noble in my estimation. Now, not so.
